“White House declines Netanyahu request to meet with Obama”

Figure I should note this here before an embarrassed Obama administration, worried about how this might hurt the liberal Jew vote, strikes a deal with the Israelis to retract the story.

Iran is an existential threat to Israel. The entire region has become destabilized and Islamicized, with the end of the Jewish state — the Middle East’s most convenient scapegoat — under increasing danger from all sides.

But Obama’s “too busy.” He’s got some campaign lies to tell, plus, Khalidi and Wright and the Muslim Brotherhood and radical chic self-hating Jews and nearly every Marxist professor he’s ever had has told him that Israel is Zionist, and Zionism is racism, and Obama simply will not brook racism, so why should he make time for racists who are finally about to pay for their racist sins? He shouldn’t, that’s why.

And those of you who disagree with such a formulation? Are racists. Or the wrong kinds of Jews.

But then, I repeat myself.

The good news is we’re not encouraging Muslims to be outraged (further alienating our Jewish allies). Oh, wait.

  2. cranky-d says:

I think there is a short list of things that will always be so likely as to be essentially true: The sun will rise in the East, we are all going to die someday, and Muslims will be outraged about something.

  3. EBL says:

I hope Israel acts in their own best interest. And if they do they can remind all that they tried to meet with Barack Obama but he was “too busy.”

The Israelis aren’t all pussies. Maybe folks will notice.

  6. palaeomerus says:

So this is really probably going to happen before Christmas isn’t it. Shit.

  7. cranky-d says:

BBH, I don’t think they will respond to threats of death either.

Sting might have had reason to hope the Russians love their children. But the Russians weren’t strapping Semtex vests on their children and sending them into crowded plazas. When dealing with that kind of threat, talk is useless. Worse than useless, since it wastes time and often reveals your plans and weaknesses.

Mr. Ness was right. Though he might have changed his words if he’d had the ability to eliminate threats without leaving enough bits to warrant burying.

  9. BigBangHunter says:

    – Obama would sell out his wufe and kids before he’ll ever ‘own’ the war about to ensue between Israel and the Muslims.

    – Enen if he were ideologically disposed to be pro-Isdaeli, he’s stuck politically. He’s done so much economic damage that a hard pivot right will lose him more than he could gain.

    – He won’t allow himself to be seen as the cause of, or blamed for things, when the pot finnally boils over.

    – He’s hoping against hope it all holds off until after the elections.

    – Election expediency, or exestential survival. Wonder which need will win out.

  10. Pablo says:

With any luck, it’ll happen before November.

Speaking of the Russians, they know how to deal with such things.

You figure we’ll have a Rosh war to go with the Yom war, Leigh? The High Holy Wars, as it were?

Obama should audition for a spot with The Three Terrors.

I think so, Squid. I don’t think it’ll even take seven days this time, bitches.

The papers in Israel are all but telling the Arabs/Persians that they’re going to bring it.

  17. BigBangHunter says:

Speaking to reporters in Chicago today, Chicago Mayor Emanuel asserted that President Obama has already backed him up against striking teachers, because many of his proposed reforms were taken directly from the President’s “Race to the Top” education incentives.

    – Obama was unavailable for comment, being too busy you see.

    – But the important thing is the perception, not the Womce’s silence, because, well, theres an election going on, and no way the Dems want to lose a single one of those precious public sector votes.

Does Netanyahu request another opportunity to speak before Congress? After all, who counts here, the American public or tiny-souled Barack Obama?

    I think I’m going to hurl. @USEmbassyCairo:

    3) Sorry, but neither breaches of our compound or angry messages will dissuade us from defending freedom of speech AND criticizing bigotry

I must have missed the part where they defended free speech.

    – Speak to congress? Yeh, that will happen.

I assume that the irregular forces who launched the attack on sovereign American soil succeeded in pulling down our flag only because our Marines ran out of ammunition and were forced to withdraw. I further assume that resupply missions are already in progress.

There are reports that the “clash” mentioned in Pablo’s link above involved RPGs and now the embassy in Benghazi has “burned”.

  30. cranky-d says:

How about we just stop having embassies in countries like that? The fact that we bother is an acknowledgement that we think them worthy of our attention.

  31. sdferr says:

But some perspective is in order, as we should bear in mind that all these minor and merely apparent, wholly temporary set backs are solely noise in the longer term symphony of Obama’s superior foreign policy design; puny diminutive blips in the world utopian chorus of the vision of the anointed. Only think healing.

Jonathan Tobin: Has Netanyahu’s Iran Bluff Been Called?

In essence, Netanyahu is back where he was a year ago with the only difference being that Iran is one year closer to a nuke and President Obama seems to think he need no longer fear Israel’s threats. As John rightly predicts, that sets the stage for Obama to demonstrate the sort of “flexibility” on Iran that he has promised to show to Russia if re-elected. That will leave Israel not only facing the peril of a nuclear Iran but also having lost the help of its sole ally on the issue.

  43. palaeomerus says:

I say the US response should be to find those guys making that movie that pissed the Egyptian Protesters off, and give them $200,000,000 and tell them to call Weta and ILM and put some cool CGI up in that shit because it’s going to be a summer blockbuster that opens across the country now.

    – The Left is already showing its panic in glowing terms. They’ve gone to that old last ditch effort two months too soon. Lefty ‘news sites’ are starting the “their own people don’t like them’ meme in ernest. Thats what you go to when your own candidate is a failed empty suit, ala Carter.
