“House Conservatives to Boehner: Defund Obamacare Now”

But of course, he won’t do it.  Instead, he’ll just cry little orange tears, so worried is he over being demagogued for taking away some poor (and entirely fictional) person’s healthcare without full Congressional approval.

At least, that’s my guess.

You don’t get to be head of the GOP establishment in Congress without proving you can cave to the left and preen for the “moderates” who are never, ever going to vote for you anyway.

Now get your asses in line and surrender like men!

At least we’re seeing some lines being drawn. Though you’ll never see them mentioned in the media, there are still millions of pissed-off Tea Partiers out there, and it’s good to remind them that Obama’s not the only one who needs to be shown the door.

The amoeba does not get smarter but it does get hungrier and bigger. On the other hand, we get smarter. More and more of our life takes place outside of the amoeba’s reach: in the privacy of our own homes, or in capital accounts in other nations, or in the fastest growing amoeba avoidance zone ever created, cyberspace. We revolt decision by decision, transaction by transaction, because we believe deep down that most of what government tells us to do is at bottom illegitimate.

What this git fails to realize is that the amoeba is getting more tech tools to insinuate those pseudopods into more and more hidey-holes. The only way to stop that is pseudopod removal.

And cyberspace as a hidey-hole? It is to laugh. The whole point of computers is to do the analysis that no human has the time to do; sorting through all your online transactions to determine how much out of state sales tax you’re cheating on is very much in reach as soon as the amoeba suspects that new food source is large enough to justify the effort.

Maybe we’re taking the wrong approach. Maybe instead of bashing the RINOs we should go all “power of positive thinking” on them, send them daily affirmations gradually increasing in scope, to see if we can get them acting as if they had a pair.
