“Eric Holder to NAACP: ‘I Will Not Allow the Texas Voter ID Law to Happen’” [bh]

Do I need to add any commentary for this story?

Thugs and looters do what thugs and looters do.  I wonder if Texans will do what we all think of Texans as doing.

Update: In the comments, newrouter links a reminder that these people are simply full of shit.  They don’t believe a word of their posturing.

No, they want Chicago-style elections.  Ask the good people of Racine, WI.

Does he know it’s not up to him?

  2. Pablo says:

He’s transcended being above the law. He is the law.

I wonder if Texans will do what we all think of Texans as doing.

    That seems likely.

  3. sdferr says:

“Vengeance is mine,” saith the AG to the expectant chorus. And the chorus sang “Hosanna!”

  4. Jeff G. says:

Does he know it’s not up to him?

Well, he does have at least 5 SCOTUS Justices in his pocket. So.

  5. newrouter says:

relax already eric’s just helping his peeps

  6. LBascom says:

Gotta admit, they’re game bastards. Always meeting in the middle of the ring.

I don’t understand people that don’t see the urgency of our times. The international fascists are all in, and the USA is under grave threat. From domestic enemies. Do or die time is rushing at us.

  7. BigBangHunter says:

    – Holder isn’t going to do crap. Apparently hes never been to Texas, and he must have been sleeping the day the Feds tried to enter Louisiana and take over the oil fields when the BP spill was going on.

    – Have a nice drive back home to Washington fellers…..you all be sure to drive careful now, y’hear….

  8. LBascom says:

Holder isn’t going to do crap

I kinda thought Arizona would hang onto it’s illegal immigrant law.

And the mandate to engage in commerce would be thrown out on it’s face, too.

I guess we’ll see if Texas lives up to it’s reputation.

  9. BigBangHunter says:

    – The Feds can pass all the bullshit laws they want to. If the entire State government ignores them theres nothing they can do, and if they tried they’d be immediately frawn into a Constitutional crisus, and commies never want that.

    – There are at least 26 states a hair trigger away from sucession as it is.

  12. happyfeet says:

now I want voter ID laws more just to piss off this whiny little obama bitch than for anything else

    that’s probably wrong of me

  13. leigh says:

“Poll Tax”? Really, Eric? Do you want to go there?

  14. BigBangHunter says:

    – To be honest, until the Left rose to power I would have never thought for a moment that you could vote anywhere without proof of identity and residence. The very idea never occured to me. I still find it hard to believe. For them to even hint at defending such a position is criminal in itself, against the very oath of office people like Holder take when they’re sworn in.

    – Joe Macarthy, where are you now that we need you.

  15. BigBangHunter says:

“He went on to say that while only 8 percent of white people do not have government-issued photo IDs, about 25 percent of black people lack such identification.”

    – And just who’s fault might that be Mr. Fast and Furious?

  16. Danger says:

Texas should just say that they’re expecting a visit from Eric Holder and they need to be security conscience.
Never know which precinct he might inspect!

  17. LBascom says:

25% of black eligible voters don’t drive? I find that hard to believe.

  18. newrouter says:

about 25 percent of black people lack such identification.

eric be throwing out stupid sh*t to impress the peeps

  19. happyfeet says:

Does he know it’s not up to him?

National Soros Radio explains it like this:

While the NAACP is meeting in Texas, a Texas voter ID law is being challenged this week in a special federal court in Washington. Texas is one of the states that — because of a history of voter discrimination — must get approval from the U.S. Justice Department under the Voting Rights Act before enacting changes to its state election law.

  20. Danger says:

Abe Froman is the only eligible voter I know that doesn’t drive.

    Course he’s white
    And from New York City

Somehow though, I doubt Eric Holder is looking out for him;)

  21. newrouter says:

about 25 percent of black people lack such identification.

    they be in prison no?

  22. Danger says:

    Like I said Feets,
It’s not an election law it’s just a security measure.

  23. bh says:

Added your link above, nr. And a story about Racine, Wi, that was only possible because judges are blocking our new voter ID law.

  24. happyfeet says:

I’m not at all sure what that’s all about Mr. Danger just that apparently Texas is treated specially not like other states

  25. palaeomerus says:

“He’s transcended being above the law. He is the law.”

    Judge Holdredd?

  26. Pablo says:

25% of black eligible voters don’t drive? I find that hard to believe.

Lots of people in cities don’t drive. That doesn’t mean they don’t have ID’s. You can’t get a job without an ID. And do we give welfare to people without ID? I’m not sure I want the answer to that question.

  27. newrouter says:

Mr. Danger just that apparently Texas is treated specially not like other states

nah doj uses 1965 law against southern states

  28. newrouter says:

Lots of people in cities don’t drive.

    maybe nyc but texas?

  29. Pablo says:

    – To be honest, until the Left rose to power I would have never thought for a moment that you could vote anywhere without proof of identity and residence. The very idea never occured to me.

I haven’t had to worry about it because one of the ladies that run the polls I vote at has known me for 40+ years. But if she asked me for my ID, I’d giggle and show it to her.

  30. Pablo says:

    maybe nyc but texas?

    Detroit. Chicago. LA. Philly. DC.

  31. BigBangHunter says:

“And do we give welfare to people without ID? I’m not sure I want the answer to that question.”

    – Well if they do they’re breaking the law period. They cannot get any form of federal assistance without ID, and I can’t imagine the same isn’t true of state assistance, so I’m not buying his bullshit from any angle. Its all cover for ACORN, or whatever name they’re going by these days.

  32. Eric Holder and his supporters are not going to be embarrassed to be called hypocrites. You will have to find something stronger.

  33. BigBangHunter says:

Well, in the old days if you acted against your oath of allegence you were called a traitor. Today I guess you’d be called a Progressive.

  34. BigBangHunter says:

    – Plugs goes off again.

    – He’s like a cherry bomb with a damp fuse. You never know when he’ll erupt next.

  35. palaeomerus says:

Texas to Eric Holder: ” Heeeeey! Fuck you chump! Also, have the dignity to resign you corrupt, bloody handed ,little gun runner. “

  36. newrouter says:

hooray for hairplugs clean, articulate white dude

  37. Danger says:

From a link sdferr provided in another thread:

(only) Nolan Ryan has a license to mess with Texas, but doesn’t, out of respect.

    Eric Holder should take note!

  38. BigBangHunter says:

    – Drones versus drones.

“Ferdaus told undercover officers that he had been radicalized on the internet”

    – The ‘wired’ generation….

  39. Car in says:

    maybe nyc but texas?

    Detroit. Chicago. LA. Philly. DC.

Detroit has horrible public transit. Horrible. Sure, some people are stuck taking the bus, but not a lot of folks. You simply can’t get there for here.

And taxis are next to non-existent and outrageously expensive.

  40. Squid says:

Detroit has horrible public transit. Horrible.

Well, one can’t expect the municipality to excel at everything…

  41. cranky-d says:

    Or anything, really.

  42. bgbear says:

did he add the traveling great distances thing because if Texas simply said they would waive fees for state ID for those claiming poverty he would lose the “poll tax” claim?

  43. leigh says:

Free IDs are available, like you say bgbear. In the meantime, you can still vote, but you have to use a provisional ballot and have a specific time-frame in which to produce an ID to have your vote counted.

  44. RI Red says:

I am so waiting for states like Texas to tell Holder, et al., to pound sand. Sort of like a recent comment about your opinion being disregarded in the order in which it was received.

  45. happyfeet says:

Mitt is so fucking awesome is why Mr. newrouter

  46. newrouter says:

i think they liked his gazpacho recipe

  47. geoffb says:

Fly from San Antonio to DC to testify how you can’t manage a 30 minute trip to get your new free voter ID.
