I have one son in the Army (he did his year+ in Iraq) another in the Marine Reserves (going later this year). I am retired military 25+ years of active and reserve service.
Torture and humilation are “unhelpful” to our cause and our nation and put my sons at risk.
When are you going to get your chickenhawk ass into a uniform?
Well, I don’t equate torture and humiliation. I find that defining down torture like that leads to idiotic circumstances where the only available means of extracting information from enemies is bribery and wishful thinking.
Oh. And I once wore a Sizzlers Restaurant uniform. Does that count?
(Incidentally, I don’t advocate that anyone who eats in or comments upon restaurants or eateries must have first put in his or her time busing tables. But then I’m rational that way).
Frankly, any one who claims to have loved ones in the military who is worried about “humiliation” of captured combatants being “unhelpful” is either deluded or a poseur.
And anyone who does so while presenting a phony e-mail address should be regarded as a deluded poseur.
