From Xinhuanet: “The Palestinians and human rights organizations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are to submit evidence to the United Nations and international war crime tribunal seeking charges against Israeli army commanders, a statement said Saturday”:
The statement referred to General Doron Almog, the Israeli army General in charge of the southern command, the Israeli army designated sector with responsibility for the town of Rafah in the Gaza strip.
The charges against Almog include responsibility for the murder of Palestinians and the violation of the 1949 4th Geneva Convention and the issuing of orders for collective punishment against civilians in the Rafah refugee camp, said the statement.
No word yet whether Israel will bother responding to this latest clot of nuissance paperwork by “human rights organizations” and Palestinians — both of whom, it should be pointed out, might be better served spending their time developing a legitimate government and eliminating the culture of hatred that persuades young Palestinian men to strap explosives to their bodies and then to wander into shopping malls to detonate themselves (be it for the glory of Allah, the pride of “martyrdom,” or for the monetary compensation paid to their families).
