Mitt at Solyndra
“Two years ago President Obama was here to tout this building and this business as a symbol of the success of his stimulus,” said Romney, stepping off a bus and onto the public sidewalk in front of the Solyndra buildings just outside Silicon Valley. “Well you can see that it’s a symbol of something very different today.”
“It’s a symbol not of success but of failure,” he said. “It’s also a symbol of a serious conflict of interest. An independent inspector general looked at this investment and concluded that the administration had steered money to friends and family – to campaign contributors. This building, this half a billion dollar taxpayer investment, represents a serious conflict of interest on the part of the president and his team.”
“It’s also a symbol of how the president thinks about free enterprise,” said Romney. “Free enterprise to the president means taking money from the taxpayers and giving it freely to his friends.”
My only quarrel with his remarks is Romney’s insistence that Obama and ilk “don’t understand free enterprise.”
They absolutely do understand it. And they hate it.
Romney didn’t say that the Obamabots “don’t understand” free enterprise; he said that crony capitalism is how they think about it. It’s of a piece with the Left’s campaign to pervert and devalue every concept, word or phrase that stands between them and control.
We will harass some and promote others, for fairness. We will restrict your options, for freedom. We will punish the innocent, for justice. We will take from the productive and give to our friends, for fair trade.
Their only concern is that too many of us are on to them, and that we’re resisting not just their abuse of the language, but their attempts to marginalize and silence us. ¡No mas!
Mittsy isn’t a John McCain, that is certain. Mitt actually wants to win, and is organized to do so. After the dismal jobs number today, Li’l Queen Barack must be soiling her skirt, and it looks like Mitt won’t let her forget it. Perhaps another round of golf will console Queen Choom.
Now if Mitt wins, while we rid ourselves of a noxious sociopath we may gain another Compassionate Conservative. So yeah, government will still grow.
Mr. Governor Mitt is doing a good job framing this election as a repudiation of rapey rapey obamanomics and I am grateful to him for that to where yes I would break him off a piece of my KitKat bar
probably
Not for long it won’t. Not with all the dominoes teetering.
If he keeps this up, I still won’t vote for him, but I might silently root for others to do so.
The operative words above are “if” and “might.”
And I disagree about the framing thing. I think he’s been more successful at the sister, please retort to Obama’s efforts to frame him than he’s been in presenting the issues that need to be decided in this election.
It helps that, so far at least, the subtext of Obama’s campaign has been if you think I suck ass, wait ’til you get a load of the other guy! That worked real well for Democrats in ’10, didn’t it? And Republicans in ’06 too.
I finally figured it out: The pikachu reminds me of a politically active Zooey Deschannel after a lobotomy.

You know, while I might be crazy, I’m beginning to think that everything, literally everything about Queen Choom the Wonder Prog is a fraud. Everything.
Most of us who paid attention in 2008 knew Queen Choom was lying about everything from her accomplishments at Harvard to her performance as an organizer at Grove Park and the Annenberg Challenge to how her husband Michelle got his $300K sinecure “job.” We knew for certain she was lying about being “post-partisan” and being a centrist (whatever that means anyway).
Yet even I believed the spin that she was a brilliant campaigner and a politician of exceptionally low and clever cunning. It appears that this too was a fraud. Look at the ridiculous stumbles Queen Choom has made in this his first full month of the campaign. Everything from Sandra Slut to eating dog to “evolving” a rainbow halo to the serfdom of the eyeless Julia to the apostate Cory Booker. And now even Slick Willy has declared Mitt has had a “sterling” career in business… nice way to manage your allies there, Queenie.
This crew in the White House is the Milli Vanilli of politics. Nothing is real, nothing is true. I don’t even believe Axelrim’s porn stache is real. He probably bills the gubmint for bottles of the spirit gum he uses to paste it on every morning.
This man-shaped sack of swamp mulch that sits behind the Resolute desk is there for only one reason. The sack is black. Or white black, if you are the New York Times writing about white Hispanic George Zimmerman. He’s not even “authentically black.” Thank you, white liberal guilt, mainstream media and John McCain, for hosing the entire nation. Now go eat a bag of nails.

OT but amusing to someone with my moniker.

OT again, but further proof that the New York Times is not a newspaper, it is a security blanket.
Artur Davis, former prominent Obama backer, leaves Democratic Party

Dennis Prager notes the NYT today does not report this.

That’s like trying to fit ten pounds of meat in a five pound bag. Utterly pointless outside of bloglandia.
I’m warming up a little I told you so soup for when the day comes.
Not that I’m still not skeptical, deeply skeptical about Romney, just that it took tendentious readings of the guy to make him out to be as hopelessly bad as was being portrayed here by some people.
I remain far from convinced that a Romney administration will solve much of anything EXCEPT as the instrument by which those rotten pigs currently occupying the White House will be tossed out on their collective rumps.
And now even Slick Willy has declared Mitt has had a “sterling” career in business… nice way to manage your allies there, Queenie.
Hi, George. Where ya been?
Personally, I think that that little slap heard round the news cycle by the Big Dog was payback time for the racist business last time around in North Carolina when Hillary! was running for POTUS. If anyone is a brilliant politician, it is William J. Clinton. And he has a long memory and patience for sticking it to his enemies. He showed the whole world exactly what he thinks of the Wonce.
Well done, Bill!
Revenge is a dish best served cold. Just gotta love Bubba dishing it out.
Bill never forgets and he never forgives them what crossed him.
As much of a putz as Bubba is/was, you have to admire his political skills. O is an f’ing neophyte. Albeit that he has excelled at destroying the USofA on behalf of his masters.
“My only quarrel with his remarks is Romney’s insistence that Obama and ilk “don’t understand free enterprise.””
I think they understand it completely and the part they don’t like is the “free”
