“Taxmaggedon” and candidate Obama [bh]

John Snow, a former Treasury Secretary, has a good piece in the Journal today about the enormous capital gains tax increases looming in our future.  It’s worth a read.  He ends with, “As taxmageddon looms, let’s hope we choose wisely.”

Unfortunately, we know one rather important person who has already made a choice on this matter.  Let’s review the tape.

Now, what we all predominantly remember from that debate is that he said fairness was more important than revenue.  If we listen to his full response once more though we notice the uncanny resemblance between 2008 Obama and 2012 Obama.  Note his class warfare rhetoric involving secretaries paying more than their bosses.  He’s never shied away from division.  Note his chastising Bush for increasing the debt.  He’s always had that chutzpah.

The more footage you watch from the last cycle the more apparent it becomes that Obama doesn’t change with circumstances.  He can’t even be bothered to change his phrasing.  His evolution stopped at whatever tender age he absorbed hard left ideology.

Myself, I intend to point this out to friends and family each and every time they bring up any analysis of 2012 Obama from hacks who weren’t smart enough or honest enough to merely observe an already transparent 2008 Obama.

Update:  Additional thoughts from one Mr. George Orwell in the comments.

Update the second:  Motionview directs our attention to a rather shocking chart.

After you point out that out, add that your friends and family’s hack informants are too stupid to vote, and that you want them to aspire to a higher understanding of citizenship.

Talk about throwing granny off the cliff. These morons in the administration can’t quite grasp that seniors, having saved all their lives to acquire a certain level of comfort …. they ain’t getting any interest on their investments anyhow. Dividends and capital gains are a moot point these days. How are they supposed to pay for their meds? Hmmmmm …. it’s like tipping cows.

  4. Ernst Schreiber says:

OT: But this is a really big fucking deal.

As I said …. morons. Treasonous morons. Can you tell them apart?

  6. LBascom says:

I don’t understand how any half-way bright, rational person can watch that clip without seeing the glaring inconsistencies cluttering up his answer, and think this guy should be in charge.

He’s basically saying he rejects the lower tax/higher revenue argument because it isn’t fair, then stutters through a non-math related answer involving numbers, the upshot of which is we need more revenue ‘cuz of the government programs and deficits…it’s not fair to cut entitlements and run up the debt.

When our politicians decided it’s their job to judge what is “fair” or not, we became a Godforsaken nation.

    It’s going to get ugly.

  7. LBascom says:

That’s actually the rub of the thing. Politicians make laws, and if it’s legal it’s fair. By taxing, regulating and legislating ever aspect of life, the politicians can control the law abiding too, simply by deciding at any given moment and situation what is fair.

By the way, fairness is different than justice.

  8. George Orwell says:

He’s exactly who unhelpful conservatives* said he was, four years ago.

*the ones who make John McCain cry

Everything about this sociopath is a lie. Even his name. He wasn’t born B. Hussein Obama. His promises about policy, lies. He promised to exclude former lobbyists from serving in the White House, and signed an executive order to do so on his first day as King. Less than a day later he signed about a dozen waivers letting former lobbyists serve on individual bases. Lies.

During the 2008 campaign, he decried private campaign financing and demanded all candidates take public financing. Then he took private financing himself when he smelled more money in the deal. Liar. He denounced the war on terror only to keep Gitmo open and continue the policy of rendition, as well as step up assassination via unpiloted drones. Liar again.

He’s lied about everything from tornado deaths to his stance on gay marriage to professorships to the financial impact of Obamacare and the massive stimulus to the very existence of putatively real people in his so-called autobiography.

And what is the one disclaimer our pragmatists working for Team GOP always make with alacrity, lest they be called racist haters? That Barry Soetero is a brilliant campaigner, who ran a flawless machine in 2008. Look at his endless blunders of late. “Forward.” Eating dog. “The Preezy of the United Steezy.” Forswearing the white middle class voter to back up sluts demanding taxpayer-funded RU486 and condoms. “Sometimes I forget the magnitude of the recession.”

Where is the brilliant politician now? Nowhere. Even Chauncey Gardner was more substantial. He never existed. It was not that Obama ran a top-notch campaign. It was that McCain never wanted to win, and he never wanted to fight.

Everything about this cretin is a lie. And all the so-called conservatives, from Krauthammer to George Will, should have known better, when they told us for years that “Of course, Obama is highly intelligent, but…”

Bullshit from asshole to beak. This joker is a fool and a fraud through and through, and always has been. However, the worst offenders are the “conservatives” who keep making excuses for him, to this very day. He’s not in over his head. He’s a deliberate fraud, and he knows it as well as we do.

And just to add fuel to the fire, consider how his career would have unfolded if he were white. We have who we have in power precisely because of misplaced and malevolent white guilt, nothing more.

  9. happyfeet says:

Judd Gregg has a harder hitting piece on this I think

Payroll taxes will increase by $120 billion; bonus depreciation will end, adding $64 billion in taxes; the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare, will kick in, adding $46 billion in taxes; the tax cuts will end for upper-income Americans, increasing taxes by $83 billion; the tax cuts will end for middle-income Americans, increasing taxes by $198 billion.

    […]

For people who are retired and living on a fixed income, it will mean a massive adjustment. This is especially pernicious as we head into a time when the largest generation in American history, comprised of the so-called baby boomers, is moving into retirement. This is the first generation in history to retire depending primarily not on defined benefit plans but rather on contribution plans that are disproportionately comprised of dividend income.

Thus this generation, aging out of alternative ways to generate income, will find itself being socked with a tax increase promoted by the left as a prerequisite for “fairness.” It will be a bitter pill to swallow for a lot of people whose only pathway to adjusting to their reduced income will be through a commensurate reduction in their standard of living — and all this to feed the left’s insatiable appetite for a large and more costly government.

this is rape, the final frontier

  10. LBascom says:

We have who we have in power precisely because of misplaced and malevolent white guilt, nothing more.

I don’t know that I buy this part (the rest of the rant was beautiful!).

I mean, how do you explain Nancy Polosi, Harry Reid, Al freak’in Frankin? No, I think what is working is much more sinister than white guilt.

  11. George Orwell says:

No, I think what is working is much more sinister than white guilt.

I have no problem postulating a greater malevolence. However, I specifically meant the career and power of Obama. If he weren’t a convenient skin color, he wouldn’t have been remotely useful to those hustling identity politics. He would still be a nobody in the Illinois legislature, were he white.

  12. George Orwell says:

this is rape, the final frontier

  13. mc4ever59 says:

    Ernst OT at 4:09;
The Brits are pretty pissed about that. The glory hound and his minions in the White House can’t seem to keep their mouths shut. It will make it more and more difficult to get any nations or foreign nationals to work with us. Lives, and national security are at stake. But I guess that’s unimportant if it interferes with everyone knowing that Chicago Jesus is the only thing standing between us and the darkness.
Anyone read the interview last week with the former CIA director (was it Mullins) who revealed that Obama and his lawyers had it set up so that if the Bin Laden operation went south, the blame would be laid on the mission’s commanding officer.
    What a “good man”.

  14. LBascom says:

You could be right George, but if Obama was white, then maybe you would have been black and voted for him, so he still would have won. = )

  15. mc4ever59 says:

    George Orwell at 4:24;
Outstanding. Now, if we could only take your post, and have it said by, oh, say the presumptive and inevitable GOP nominee for POUTS, preferably in front of God and the media, at a campaign stop- or better yet, a nationally televised debate- then oh brother, we would have us some serious shakin’ and bakin’ goin’ on !

  16. George Orwell says:

You could be right George, but if Obama was white, then maybe you would have been black and voted for him, so he still would have won. = )

You just reminded me… even his “ethnicity” is a lie. He is not black. He had a white mother. He’s a white black, like George Zimmerman is a white Hispanic.

  17. LBascom says:

    Damn, almost missed Ernst link…

The leaks about the operation from the American side have infuriated British intelligence officials, who had hoped to continue the operation. The leaks not only scuttled the mission but put the life of the asset in jeopardy.

This is like the Valerie Plame story, times a thousand. Too bad it won’t matter to anyone that votes democrat.

  18. B Moe says:

He wouldn’t even be in the Illinois legislature. He would have never got into Columbia, much less Harvard if he were white.

He would most likely be a Honolulu coke dealer, at best a Jr. officer in Grannies bank.

  19. LBascom says:

Steady there George. Obamas “ethnicity” is not a lie, it is what it is, and he’s never (as far as I know) lied or hid that his mother is white. I’m sure he sincerely self identifies as black, as I’m sure most black men do, purity of bloodline aside.

Now the “white-hispanic” thing, that was a lie.

  20. LBascom says:

Geez, you guy’s got me wishing I was black. I coulda been president!

  21. mc4ever59 says:

Plume, the female James Bond ? Who was never a field agent, which was known by everyone and their brother at Langley? Who, along with her lying, pathetic whore of a husband sought attention at every turn while screaming that she was being outed? That Plume?
    Meh.

  22. mc4ever59 says:

That would be Plame, although spellcheck insists otherwise.

  23. LBascom says:

You have to keep an eye on spellcheck, that bitch will screw you over and embarrass you in front of your friends in a heart beat.

  24. George Orwell says:

he’s never (as far as I know) lied or hid that his mother is white.

I speak of lies as false images, not literal lies necessarily. If Zimmerman is a white Hispanic in the media world, then Obama is a white black man. I refer to the larger lie, the cheap fiction that comprises Obama’s narrative. As Jim Geraghty has observed, every promise Obama makes has an expiration date. Every single one. Similarly, every trope and signpost about Obama is misleading or false. Personally, I could self-identify as a Hepplewhite armchair. Nevertheless I am not a piece of furniture, and Obama had a white parent and a black one. This is not trivial, given the furor and sanctity some hold about “authentic” black identity.

  25. mc4ever59 says:

The scary part, LBascom, is that today, the little box keeps popping up on it’s own, asking “did you mean?..”, and then doing what it damn well pleases.
I must have been cruel to computers in an alternate universe.

  26. Pablo says:

Yes, that would be that Plame. Who, btw, was once a field agent way back before Aldrich Ames and never again since.

  27. newrouter says:

Plume, the female James Bond la Blonde?

  28. Pablo says:

You just reminded me… even his “ethnicity” is a lie. He is not black. He had a white mother.

This makes sense. Hey, y’all! Whitey fucked you again.

  29. LBascom says:

It’s going to be interesting watching that unfold Pablo. He really put a lot of black Christians in a quandary, didn’t he?

  30. Ernst Schreiber says:

how do you explain Nancy Polosi, Harry Reid, Al freak’in Frankin?

San Francisco fruits and nuts, Mormons and the mob, and good ol’ fashioned election fraud.

  31. leigh says:

I don’t remember where I read it earlier today, but Obama could potentially lose Maryland over his gay marriage stance.

  32. B Moe says:

On the opposite side of the issue, pastor Enoch Fuzz of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church of Nashville, said last week that he understood why many pastors opposed gay marriage, but he planned to discuss Sunday why he supports gay marriage. “I know many in the black community have trouble accepting gay marriage,” he said. “But all of us have gay friends or family, and we love them.”

And who among you could argue with a Brother named Enoch Fuzz?

  33. newrouter says:

“But all of us have gay friends or family, and we love them.”

so everybody knows 2-5% of the population? only on the makebelievemedia.

  34. leigh says:

Enoch Fuzz does have a pretty awesome name, but his church is a tad on the empty side.

Nr : That 2-5% of the population uses a disproportionately large amount of healthcare monies. Maybe there should be penalties for that.

  35. happyfeet says:

  39. newrouter says:

you know who uses a shitload of healthcare monies is bitches who birth defectives for Jesus

private or public monies mr pikachu?

  40. happyfeet says:

Mr. Red I certainly wasn’t suggesting that we should ration healthcares based on people’s lifestyle choices.

    That would be leigh actually.

  41. leigh says:

You can’t always get what you want. What I want is not to subsidize the risky behaviors of a small but randy population who can’t take proper care to wrap their dicks.

  42. dicentra says:

Mr. Red I certainly wasn’t suggesting that we should ration healthcares based on people’s lifestyle choices.

If you did, however, male-on-male anal sex would rank up there with some of the most unhealthful “lifestyle” choices, alongside smoking, mainlining heroin, and base jumping.

is it your money mr. pikachu/class warrior?

  45. happyfeet says:

if there should be penalties for using a disproportionate amount of healthcare, you’re opening up a can of worms I think

what does that mean that’s weird

  46. newrouter says:

male-on-male anal sex would rank up there with some of the most unhealthful “lifestyle” choices, alongside smoking,

really anal sex between gay men is like smoking? anal sex between gay men is like a creationist’s fairy tale.

  47. leigh says:

It will cost a middle-class U.S. family about $222,360 ($286,050 adjusted for inflation) to raise a child born in 2009 to the age of 17.

The average cost of HIV treatment is $14,000 to $20,000 a year. Persons being treated for HIV/AIDS can now live as long as a person who is uninfected.

    Do the math.

  48. happyfeet says:

yes leigh not using protection when you have gay sex or when you screw an over-40 christer hoochie is some risky-assed shit these days

  52. happyfeet says:

nononono Mr. newrouter I do not think we should ration healthcare based on lifestyle choices and I never said we should – leigh said we should punish certain people who use too much healthcares so I suggested as to how that might could be a slippery slope

  53. bh says:

This is exactly the sort of awesome back and forth that turns Obamacare into such a sunny prospect.

  54. happyfeet says:

    can I get an amen?

  55. leigh says:

I said there should be a ceiling to the amount of healthcare you are allowed to consume on the public dime. If you want to gay it up like Rock Hudson or Ricky Martin and you have their kind of coin, go right ahead. But, know that knowingly infecting another with HIV/AIDS is a crime. And for that, you’re on your own.

  56. McGehee says:

what does that mean that’s weird

    It means watch your language.

I was much clearer than Dan Savage was when he bullied the Xianist teens, and then lied about it, a few weeks ago. Think of 7:19 as a clarifying statement.

  63. bh says:

Yeah, I can’t really give you an amen. I’m not a big fan of the “defective” talk when you’re actually speaking of babies with problems.

15 trillion of debt – let’s worry about the feelings of 2-5% of the peeps”

Yah well the pretext for healthcare was the “10 million uninsured”. That’s 3.2% of the population. We fucked everybody to cover them what mostly were kids just out of school who didn’t wan to buy insurance.

  106. palaeomerus says:

“no I’m saying that if you want to cut the healthcare of gay people cause of they made a Risky Choice then you better not be terribly surprised if it comes to pass that having a baby after 40 is an equally Risky Choice”

And who the hell cares if you are wasting your time and mine by saying “that” except with “Christer defective” gratuitously tacked on because you think that makes you sound clever and edgy ?

Unfortunately it just makes you sound like some latchkey, 13 year old, dumbshit who is trying to shock his grandma into paying attention to him, as she dozes off behind her wall of empty bloody mary glasses, because she’s already heard most of your looped shit over the last seven and half years. It upsets her about as much as when the dog farts.

We get it. Your whole concept of social justice revolves around the idea of gay people attacking Christians on various snotty tit for tat bases. Now how many hearts and minds has this act ever changed? A show of hands? Who’s impressed by it? Who’s throwing away their burden to follow the trail of the would be light worker?

  108. TRHein says:

“We are just going back to tax policies that helped balance budgets as recently as 2000.”

Interesting comment from the last link. Like it wasn’t the cutting of government spending that actually created the balanced budgets.

And if the pikachu actually had anything but feelings it wouldn’t spew half the crap that it does.

  109. SDN says:

TRHein, what dishonest Leftists like that also fail to mention is that since then the government at all levels has simply outsourced spending and collecting the tax monies to pay for it to lower level governments or private businesses.

“No, we aren’t going to collect the taxes and appropriate the money to carry out the government’s desire for something to happen, we’re just going to tell Tombstone AZ they have to raise and spend that money if they want their town’s water supply back.

No, we aren’t going to collect the taxes and appropriate the money to stock an Arkansas farm’s pond with 50 grass carp to eat the invasive species of water lilly, we’ll tell an Arkansas farm owner they have to spend $350 dollars and a day’s worth of time to do it or we’ll fine them into bankruptcy under a regulation no accountable-by-election official had to vote into law.” (That would be my parents, last week, BTW.)

On and on and on, ad infinitum, ad nauseam, ad infinitum nauseam, and back.

As for the pikachu, if I had McGehee’s power, it would be banned so fast the Doppler effect would look like the Enterprise going into warp.

  111. TRHein says:

I hear ya SDN. Alot of times, from my experience the government ends paying more that way to boot.

If you ever do get that power I would like to be there to see the event.
