Bishop goes all GODWIN on Obama

Meaning, random Republican pols will be blindsided by a cynical, activist press “concerned” with the GOP response to some Bishop’s homily in addition to private citizen and rock star Ted Nugent’s “death threats”.

Without that same activist press ever once worrying themselves over, eg., Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s suggestion that Republicans “literally” want to return the nation to the days of Jim Crow.

Journalism.

update: By the way, was Nugent’s death threat really a death threat? What would reasonable people think?

  1. mojo says:

Sounded to me like he expects a second Obama term to bring out the jack-booted Federal thugs to steal away our guns, and Teddy ain’t ever been a one to go quietly. Hence, he expects to be “dead or in jail” under those circumstances.

Not unreasonable. Certainly not a “death threat”.

  2. dicentra says:

The Nuge was on Beck this morning. Said the Secret Service has indeed contacted him and he’s hosting a meeting for them tomorrow.

I think he called it a barbeque. Perhaps it’s a BBQ summit.

Glenn asked Nuge to ask the SS why Nuge is being investigated but not, oh, Farrakhan and others who breathe out worse threatenings every day.

  3. SGTTed says:

Ya know, the “civility” bullshitters in the GOP don’t seem to be getting any traction with their calls to “tone it down”, because Obama is going full tilt leftist in his final months in office.

  4. dicentra says:

“I expect to be dead or in jail” = DEATH THREAT.

    Meanwhile:

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is criticizing the House Republican budget authored by Rep. Paul Ryan for cutting food stamps and other assistance programs for the poor.

“I think he called it a barbecue.”

Or he’s gonna field test the flamethrower…..

  7. SGTTed says:

The leftists don’t realize they aren’t in control of the narrative anymore.

And yes, the RCC has a problem with socialist ideas.

  8. geoffb says:

    I’m pretty reasonable.

  9. palaeomerus says:

I say we throw Bill Mahr and the Nuge in a pit. Or we could safely lower them in. Whatever. Two men enter one man leave. Or maybe they can cooperate to escape the pit together. Or maybe they can live in the pit together as brothers of the pit scrounging what they need to survive from the pit and living in harmony with it. or they could just flip each other off and talk some shit and then call for help on their cell phones. Whatever. But let’s place them in a pit together. For the children. On Hulu.

Assuming there are children on Hulu.

You beat me to it! I suppose that’s what I deserve for spending the morning doing actual paying work.

  11. Car in says:

Perhaps he should have just created a “Wanted” poster for Obama with a bounty on his head of $10,000.

Then no one would see a cause for concern.

  12. palaeomerus says:

This is a teachable moment! Also Argentina apparently wants to take over the Maldives!

  13. Ernst Schreiber says:

I’ve heard it said (albeit third hand) that Cardinal Francis George has expressed sentiments similiar to Bishop Jenky’s, albeit without mentioning Obama or violating Godwin’s law.

  14. geoffb says:

Argentina wants to go Evita, the Falklands are just the cherry on top of what they wish to take over.

  15. StrangernFiction says:

because Obama is going full tilt leftist in his final months in office.

I sure hope you are right. Perhaps he can do more damage to the statist cause on the way out than Willard can to to the conservative movement while in the White House.

  16. eCurmudgeon says:

“I expect to be dead or in jail” = DEATH THREAT.

Nah! I expect instead a page to be taken from the old Soviet era, and the involuntary institutionalization of Mr. Nugent.

Clearly delusional, and an obvious threat to himself and others…

Isn’t Imus dead yet? He keeps telling us he has cancer.

  18. cranky-d says:

If they decide The Nuge is a terrorist they can lock him up forever, without a trial.

    It’s the American way!

  19. Depends on your definition of “reasonable”, is what I believe a “reasonable” man or woman or transgendered nudist would say.
