In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

Natural causes. Age 43.

update: “Liberals celebrate death of Andrew Breitbart”.

Of course they do. They’re leftists. It’s like, tradition.

Besides: as Leftists, they’ve all agreed that they are good and tolerant and righteous. So they can’t be hateful. Q.E.D.

50 Replies to “In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)”

  1. ThomasD says:

Prayers for his family, and all the rest of us really.

    Because we needed him.

  2. zamoose says:

    Just. Wow.

    I mean, wow.

Never met the man, but I kind of felt like he’d be around for a while longer, you know?

  3. McGehee says:

WTF “natural causes” account for a man of 43????

(One stage down, four more to go.)

  4. Abe Froman says:

Fuck. Very few like him on our side. RIP.

  5. Pablo says:

Geraghty: I just got off the phone with the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office as well. Death confirmed.

    Shit, shit, shit.

Josh Trevino: You wish to honor the man? Very well then: take up his sword, and fight as he did.

  6. Jeff G. says:

We shared a birthday. Facebook was always kinda fun on Feb 1.

I’m going to cull the leftist reaction and post it for all to see. That’s what he would have done. Help me out, everybody. Copy and past and send me all the vile vicious shit they say about him.

  7. Very sad and disheartening. RIP.

  8. dicentra says:

Holy crap. That’s just wrong. God hates us.

I don’t think I can stomach the Sinister Celebration just yet.

  9. […] update! Jeff is taking up a collection. No, not like you might think. If bile, filth, and putrefaction were currency, he’d be a rich […]

  10. Physics Geek says:

For the first time in months, I waded into the celebratory fever swamps at Batshit Crazy Juice for the reaction there. I was not disappointed.

  11. motionview says:

I have to stop looking at those scumbag postings or I’ll be right behind Andrew.

  12. Joan Of Argghh says:

Dying at age 43 doesn’t really seem natural.

    Just damn.

He pointed Conservatives to the real enemy: The Fifth Column.

I suppose it’s up to the rest of us to pick up the flag and carry the battle to their doorsteps.

    Just. . . damn.

  13. jdw says:

    OMG, this is awful.

RIP, Andrew Breitbart. Heartfelt condolences to his family.

  14. Roddy Boyd says:

Dead at 43 of natural causes? Aneurysm? Heart attack? He carried a few extra pound, but not that many. He wasn’t sick, I don’t think.

Wow. That stinks. I wish I’d gotten to know him. That’s a real loss. Treacher’s tweets on this are classic. The Left, whom Breitbart nailed, are delighting in it.

  15. Spiny Norman says:

To the moonbat left, Andrew was a far worse enemy than Osama bin Laden. Like mv said, I not even going there, or I’ll have a stroke.

    RIP

  16. dicentra says:

Scott Baker is on Beck right now. Said Andrew was having problems with his heart recently.

Beck is urging us not to jump to any conclusions, but oh boy there’d better be an autopsy.

  17. Pablo says:

AP reports that he’d had heart issues a year ago. Apparently, he went out for a walk and collapsed. Someone saw it, called 911. He died at UCLA Medical Center.

  18. RI Red says:

    Well, shit.

  19. Joan Of Argghh says:

he went out for a walk and collapsed

Some doctor probably told him that walking was good for his heart. I’m gonna stay safely here, behind my keyboard and not take chances.

    Really, just… dammit!

    I’m still in stunned disbelief.

  20. leigh says:

    RIP Mr. Breitbart.

He looked to me as if he were on a steroid the last few times I saw him.

Don’t take the leftie tweets to heart. People on both sides say stupid stuff. I chastized a number of people on the interwebs for their remarks when Peter Jennings died.

  21. Abe Froman says:

Don’t take the leftie tweets to heart. People on both sides say stupid stuff.

But they’re educated people, don’t you know. How can you liken the vulgar sentiments of a trailer park wingnut to those of someone with a Masters in Medieval Lesbian Poetry?

  22. EBL says:

    Heartbreaking. RIP Andrew.

  23. Joan Of Argghh says:

Gutfeld’s triubte: Losing him is like a fiery planet going dark.

    Yep.

  24. dicentra says:

Anyone want to go sledding in hell?

  25. Jeff G. says:

Don’t take the leftie tweets to heart. People on both sides say stupid stuff.

Please knock it off with this ridiculous moral equivalence. It’s why we lose so often, first of all, and secondly, you just sound smug.

I’ve been doing this on the web for a long time. There is no cycle of violence. There’s an assault and a defense. Until you recognize that, you’re just cannon fodder.

  26. Jeff G. says:

dicentra — MM is under heavy scrutiny jut now for its connections to the WH. They’re going to bite their tongues and act civilized while they need to.

In fact, I would NOT be shocked if word has already gone out to try to rein in the hate. Luckily for us, many leftists simply can’t control themselves, and vented their spleens before word came down from whatever new list they’re each on to shut their yaps, because people are watching.

  27. leigh says:

I’m not making a moral equivalence, Jeff. A man’s dead. It made me sick to read the shit people wrote when Jennings died, which was just as bad as this stuff about Breitbart.

  28. Pablo says:

    How awesome is this?

  29. Pablo says:

HuffPo, having long ago learned this lesson, is pre-moderating all comments on Breitbart. You’d think there was nothing but respect for him over there. Now if they’d published the couple thousand comments they’ve certainly received as opposed to the 166 they’ve let through…

  30. Jeff G. says:

I’m not making a moral equivalence, Jeff. A man’s dead. It made me sick to read the shit people wrote when Jennings died, which was just as bad as this stuff about Breitbart.

And far less frequent, and far less acceptable to a particular side.

Which is where the moral equivalence comes in.

  31. Jeff G. says:

Exactly, Pablo. They’re trying to manage this narrative, too. Fortunately, too many leftists are so overfilled with self esteem that they think their “straight talk” is both useful and edgy. Like I said, they can’t help themselves. So the moderators on the left will be busy today.

I remember when Tony Snow died. Oh, how they enjoyed that day!

  32. Abe Froman says:

Seriously, Leigh, I don’t know how you can be this oblivious to how differently the two sides comport themselves.

  33. jdw says:

I recall the hatred when Tony Snow died. Also, the glee when Rush was hospitalized in Hawaii couple years ago. LeftLibProggs prayed for his death.

  34. motionview says:

I saw Xeni from Boing Boing trying to quiet one of the hate drones on twitter.

  35. leigh says:

Seriously, Leigh, I don’t know how you can be this oblivious to how differently the two sides comport themselves.

I’m not, Abe. Sorry if I sound that way.

  36. motionview says:

We miss him already: if Andrew was managing the Complex for his death story, he would have first leaked something that would have caused the White House to denounce him by name, and then let the news of his death out.

  37. zamoose says:

Olympia Snowe declines to run again, citing “divisive politics”. Andrew Breitbart passes two days later, Lefties proving her point in droves.

Just, you know, not in the way she was intending it.

  38. sdferr says:

Breitbart’s liveliness made him, for me anyhow, an animate icon of eros on the march. He cared about everything, it seemed, intensely.

  39. Pablo says:

Boehlert goes with graciousness as well. I’m tempted to wonder if he needed someone else to write that for him.

  40. bh says:

I’m still a bit shocked by this.

  41. Roug says:

How about this for blinding hatred:

At the CPAC convention he was outside screaming, yelling and calling the protestors ” filthy scumbags” He was completely out of control and had to be held back by the police. Natural causes…? He probably had a stroke or heart attack. Maybe he will change his attitude in his next world!!!!!!!
One could say the world will be a better place without Andrew Breitbart.

I’m not certain when it was decided that a stroke or heart attack was not a natural cause.

In any case, we conservatives have lost a fearless warrior. RIP.

  42. Roug says:

I should add that the above is from the comments of the article, not written by the article’s author.

  43. McGehee says:

My favorite Breitbart tweet was this one.

  44. LBascom says:

    Dammit.

    RIP Mr. Breitbart.

  45. Joan Of Argghh says:

Favorite tweet so far by @PoliticalMath:

My timeline is filled w/ the left celebrating Breitbart’s death like he was an unborn baby

  46. geoffb says:

Andrew Breitbart, may his memory be eternal.

  47. Mike LaRoche says:

My prayers for Andrew Breitbart and his family. Five years ago, my brother passed away at the age of 40, so I know what it’s like to lose a family member at such a young age. Requiescat in pace.

  48. sdferr says:

Breitbart with Peter Robinson, part 1 (the rest of the series is linked to the right).
