Chelsea Clinton hired by NBC

She’ll be highlighting community involvement in the lives of the collective and villages that raise children — likely as a disinterested news person who has no particular political point of view, and so is perfect for a mainstream press outlet that is meticulous about upholding standards of impartiality and objectivity when it comes to presenting the news.

29 Replies to “Chelsea Clinton hired by NBC”

  1. Abe Froman says:

Ugly people shouldn’t be allowed on TV.

  2. Crawford says:

Mr. Capus [president of NBC News] said he had met with Ms. Clinton and had a long conversation that began with a simple question. “I asked her: ‘What are you interested in doing?’ ”

Because every day, the president of a major TV network’s news division meets with 20-somethings who have never worked a day in their lives and offers them blank checks.

One person close to Ms. Clinton said she had been quietly raising her profile for some time, though the public had not been completely aware of it.

Wow. “Raising her profile” but the public wasn’t aware of it? Then who was she “raising her profile” among?

Ms. Clinton will become the second daughter of a president hired by NBC News, and the third daughter of a recent presidential candidate. Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of President George W. Bush, works as a correspondent for NBC’s “Today” show, and Meghan McCain, daughter of John McCain, is a contributor to MSNBC.

What does Meggy Mac contribute to MSNBC? A vast cleavage for them to use in white-balancing their cameras?

Fire them all. Make them work for their positions.

    She is the 1%.

In my book, this is not ugly. Not breathtakingly gorgeous, certainly, but not ugly by any stretch of the imagination. If I’d met a girl that looked like that in college, I’d have been attracted.

    To begin with, anyway.

  5. Ernst Schreiber says:

Jeff, are you sure you didn’t mean Journo-lism?

And Chelsea is almost 32, which is the new 22, so no biggy. She’s got her whole life in front of her, the dear.

  6. Abe Froman says:

You’d have been the perfect wing man in college, slart.

  7. sdferr says:

Bad angle, purposely didn’t truthfully reveal the receding socialist chin.

  8. mojo says:

So – it it fair to ask her about Monica now? She’s a “professional”, right?

    If only.

In USSA, you don’t ask the questions. The questions ask you.

  12. Slartibartfast says:

Holy crap, that was a long time ago, serr8d. Back before daleyrocks went completely MLA on us.

And I was just thinking about Nishi, a few minutes ago, wondering how she likes her hip, cutting-edge party now? And whether she realizes that, being in the upper 1%, self-esteem-wise, that she’s going to be practically compelled to share?

  13. Carin says:

Slart, I’ve wondered that many times over the last three years.

  14. Alec Leamas says:

I don’t go out of my way to criticize Chelsea Clinton’s appearance because she didn’t pick her parents. But when someone makes a point of claiming that she is attractive – yeah, um, not really.

  15. Old Texas Turkey says:

So she’s jumped from McKinsey & Co to Hedge Funding to TV. Can’t hold down a jobby job is all that resume tells me. Like the Boss’s idiot son in law being shopped from one department to another.

Me, I’d prefer a girl who didn’t have yellow teeth.

  17. Dana says:

What, NBC couldn’t get Maria Shriver back? I hear that she’s available again.

    FTFY

  19. leigh says:

Chelsea Clinton is about as “beautiful” as Sarah Jessica Parker. What is her POV going to be on NBC? Is she recused from flaking for her mom and the current administration? Will she give us fashion and insider trading tips? Will she admit to Diane Sawyer that she married her husband because she was panicing about being an old maid but things just aren’t working out? Will she interview Bill’s current squeeze?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

In college meaning “when I’d [insert vulgar slang term for fornicate here] anything in a skirt.”

  21. LBascom says:

Eh, I wouldn’t call Chelsea beautiful, but ugly is a stretch.

I know nothing about her actually, a mark in her favor btw, but I guess that’s about to change.

Something tells be she will remain head and shoulders above the McCain spawn, dignity and intellectual wise…

That was never me, more’s the pity. Not that I regret only having had one girlfriend there, or having been faithful to her.

bitch is on tv cause she didn’t study hard in school

    simple as that

  26. happyfeet says:

I just think she’s painfully obviously defining success down

nobody in her position wants to end up a common common broadcast network tv whore

but this Chelsea person… she has made choices in the past and now she and we are seeing the consequences

  27. Slartibartfast says:
