– His defense is brilliant. He’s caught red-handed and he say’s “The fact that all the allegations and fact’s are true” for a program he approved and ran is intolerable and unacceptable, and he’s investigating the charges.
– In other words, he admits he’s guilty.
– From this you have to assume his name will be the first one he calls up on charges.
– These people truly do live in a star chamber.
Even at this late stage of collapse most Americans just sort of assume that when an especially egregious and blatant crime is committed that there will in fact be rough men with badges, guns, and who are possessed of a strong sense of duty who will stand up and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Unfortunately, the perpetrators here are not only the holders of the badges and guns, but their bosses.
I’ve lost the capacity to get excited about this shit any more. If there were two hundred dead Mexicans and multiple dead U.S. agents and civilians linked to a Republican administration, the impeachment, conviction, and criminal prosecution would already be in the history books.

Well, you noticed that all the noise about “American guns being the majority of guns used by cartels” stopped pretty fucking abruptly, didn’t it? The only main media outlet giving any coverage was that CBS reporter, and she’s been reassigned to the flower club circuit as far as I can tell.
It was all an infantile kabuki play to set the groundwork for more gun control. That was all it ever was.
Communists in parks and private spaces from coast to coast, including the Oval Office. And Justice. And about eleventy six czars, give or take, and then we’ve got the thousands of civil service hires across the entire beauracracy…
When this administration ends, it won’t be “who left this sandwich under the seat???” it will be a case of “can’t close the doors there’s so many dead tuna in here…”
The whole thing has been a carefully executed program to destroy the republic. It’s not like the time wasn’t ripe but it is still depressing to watch it all unfold.

The worst part, TmjUtah? Is watching the complicit GOP help reinforce a permanent ruling class — and watching the “new media” on the right strain so desperately to be win the respect of the old media that they became just like it, only with bad grammar and punctuation.

I agree with you about the Republicans. They are become dogs under a banquet table, with the added bonus of them being too stupid to realize that dessert was served hours ago.
Political parties, white collar crony capitalists, public employee unions, private employee unions, academia, and all those deluded ass clowns parading around occupy sites… you know, they actually have a lot more to fear than we do, Jeff.
I take some small comfort knowing that the appreciation I have achieved of the state that my world is about to enter comes from a life spent making choices, honoring obligations, accepting consequences, and moving on to the next thing.
The above mentioned zits on the ass of civilization have participated in a fictional narrative fueled by the redistributed wealth of folks like me, multiplied by millions of times. But we are past the Thatcher event horizon – long past, the entire western world (excepting Brazil and I think maybe India [Western?
