Glad you were able to get in and take control.

Assuming you’re who you say you are…

  2. Ernst Schreiber says:

It would seem you have your site back.

Now where do you go to recover your reputation

    /cheeky bastard

  3. EBL says:

A good way to recovery your reputation would be to beat the bastard who hacked you within an inch of his life.

Getting mentioned by “Morning Jolt” did it.

A couple of videos for the new day.

Motionview writes DO NOT LOG IN if you are signed out.

    DO NOT.

OT Carin HELP please post a comment at PW telling people to stop logging in. If you have logged in since the hack that password is compromised.

  6. Jim in KC says:

WordPress is a bit like Adobe Acrobat, it has constant security issues and needs to be updated frequently.

  7. Ernst Schreiber says:

Good thing I never remember to log out. I guess.

  8. The Monster says:

“DO NOT LOG IN if you are signed out.”

    ???

I don’t understand this. Are you saying that whoever hacked the site was able to capture any passwords people entered while logging in?

If so, we should all change our PW passwords as soon as Jeff’s sure there’s nothing left that might be reporting back to the baddies.

  9. Carin says:

I dunno Monster, I was just passing along the message.

BUt I’m thinking I have a built-in excuse should I make an incoherent comment.

  10. Jeff G. says:

The answer is, I don’t know the answer.

We’re waiting to hear back from the administrator.

  11. Ernst Schreiber says:

What was yesterday’s excuse, Carin? [grin]

  12. Yackums says:

Dammit Carin, now you tell me?

  13. Carin says:

I am a forward looking person. You’ve got to put your past in your behind.

    Odd storage-place, that.

  15. Jeff G. says:

Still no word back from my site host / administrator (in Australia, I believe).

    I cannot guarantee your safety.

But fuck that: fight the Man!

  16. Pablo says:

Are you saying that whoever hacked the site was able to capture any passwords people entered while logging in?

It’s possible. So if you were logged out and had to log back in, you should change your password.

  17. RI Red says:

That was wierd. If you see me change my rooster (or chicken; I’m having gender-orientation issues today) to neon yellow, please let me know.

  18. John Bradley says:

I missed the earlier business. Was the now-deleted “reputation management” piece just some spam crap, or was it a RealJeff (TM) post that’s been lost for whatever reason?

And MV’s “plausibility” article: did ‘they’ delete it for some reason, or did it get lost in a backup-restore, or what?

  19. Slartibartfast says:

Site for sale by suddenly English-challenged Jeff G.

  20. McGehee says:

I guess the Pub is down too.

  21. darclick says:

crimeny, I still can’t get into my admin account.

  22. darclick says:

I appear to not have been logged out since Tuesday. Did some creep steal my password?
