Of course he does.
I’m thinking Boehner, Christie, and Michael Steele should pull their resources and maybe send these poor frustrated well-meaning advocates for social justice, say, a nice fruit basket, or one of those Hickory farms meat plates.
Listen: until we show ourselves willing to react to reality as it actually is rather than as the mainstream press tells us it should be, we’re going to continue losing more slowly.
Responses to queries about this “movement” from the GOP leadership should begin and end with, “I don’t have the slightest idea what the ‘movement’ stands for, or what it wants, and from what I’ve seen, neither do they. But I will say this: some of the anti-capitalist, anti-semitic, pro-Marxist rhetoric coming from these protesters is disturbing, mostly because it calls for less freedom and more centralized, command-and-control-style government.”
But I won’t hold my breath.

update: Boehner, Steele, Christie: we sympathize! Lieberman: Not so much.
Boehner is awesome, just awesome.
I get that we’re not Communists. Really, I do. It’s just not fair.
It’s hard out there for a habitual smoker.
But not sympathizing with the Owwies opens you up to being described as “mean-spirited”. And disparagement from the MSM is really, really hurtful to Establicans.
It would be nice to see somebody come right out and say it: “The OWSers? They’re a bunch of spoiled suburban kids playing Marxist Revolutionary and 70 year old hippies who miss the good old days, mixed with a melange of useless dickheads and all-around losers of all sorts.
And no, I don’t give a good crap what they “want””…

I read Boehner’s comment. It looked like a non-answer answer, not quite as pithy as “I feel your pain”, but as useful.
Politicians do these answers for a living. Expecting anything different from one seeking re-election is surprising.
Not if you want to get re-elected as a conservative. *

You go to war with the fleet you have. And the admirals that are there.
Once war is declared, you start constructing the fleet you need. And you promote the new admirals.
This is an excellent book, I recommend it for anyone who wishes to learn about one of the greatest leaders in American history. ‘The Quiet Warrior’.

Kenneth Roberts’ novels are very useful.
