Actually, I think everybody knows how to fix public schools, it’s just that nobody’s got the guts to carry through.
First, we dig up Rousseau’s corpse and hang it for effect…
heh. I’ve got a copy of Emile on the shelf. Shall we have a ritual book burning?
Nah, just another symbol for the symbol-minded.

Well heck, we could chant “Thus does Rousseau treat his own children!” if we’re concerned with injecting symbolism.
Hmm. So my plan of simply rounding the kids up and throwing them in jail until they can do basic partial differentiation is off the table?

Well, you do run up against the “cruel and unusual” clause…
Do it for long enough and the “unusual” part goes away.
I believe the Supremes have deemed jail, with certain amenities, is not cruel and unusual. The jury’s still out on calculus however.
…nuke it all from orbit, just to be sure?
