I think I do too Pablo, though I’d prefer they wait until Obama has been defeated at the polls, on the (admittedly) diminishing chance that Senate stymie plays into Obama’s campaign theme.
Reid has essentially removed the leash on which McConnell kept his caucus. Without the opportunity to force votes on amendments by sticking together, the Republican caucus is now a collection of 47 free agents.
I love it. Any erosion of the authority of “Senate leaders” is a win in my book. Not only is Reid going to be stymied at every turn, but McConnell sees his leadership and authority greatly diminished at the same time.
Down with the Establishment, man! Disestablishmentarianism!
Compare and contrast Hairy Reed actually using this tactic, to the MFM hyperventilation over the mere conjecture of a possibility of this happening when the evil Team R’s ran the Senate.
Samuel “Joe” Wurzelbacher’s statement of candidacy filed with the Federal Elections Commission last week says he plans to run as a Republican in Ohio’s 9th U.S. House district. The filing means a campaign committee can raise and spend funds on Wurzelbacher’s behalf.
The seat is now held by Marcy Kaptur, the longest serving Democratic woman in the House.
I believe it when I see it. Isn’t more likely that they will fold like a cheap tent as soon as the Washington Post writes an editorial about how unreasonable they are being?
If it were up to the leadership, yeah, they’d fold in a second. My hope is that a couple of unruly types will give the finger to the leaders on both sides and cause some gridlock.
At the very least, the Senators might have time to actually read the bills they’re voting on…
Barry’s fake Jobs Bill is evidently a hard Democrat swallow. So hard, it probably won’t pass, even after the most vigorous arm-twisting Harry can muster. Looks for now like it’ll go down 49 D’s – 51 (47 R’s+4 D’s).
No means NO!
I do hope they make sure Harry enjoys his turn in the barrel.

I wonder if Reid thinks he can get “unanimous consent” via a simple majority vote.

Reid loved him some nuclear blast but now laments the bitter strontium, cesium and cobalt.
