Hope and Changelings

Unemployment worsens. Growth flatlines. Credit agencies threaten downgrades.

And erstwhile pragmatic GOPers, bless their honest, sober, sensible hearts, are willing to place the blame precisely where it belongs: with the extremist “teatards,” whose ideologically intransigent and most likely racist demands for a cut in deficit spending, a cap on the growth of government (by way of tying its size to percentage of GDP), and insistence that a structural impediment to running up debt (that could force us into an actual default, as unsustainable entitlement payments come due) be put permanently in place, is clearly going to be the downfall of what is otherwise a nicely functioning balance of conscientious big government and individual freedoms measured against the greater good. And for what? For what are these hickish ideologues willing to disturb the glorious balance of big government solicitousness and bureaucratically sanctioned liberties? To protest a common “house keeping procedure.” Because that’s all adding $2.5 trillion in deficit spending and debt is.

I mean, it’s not like it’s actual money. Nor will failing to deal with the underlying problem have financial repercussions of any significant magnitude. In fact, even suggesting such is nothing but far-right fearmongering — and it’s fearmongering whose very real effect will be that seniors don’t get their Social Security checks, children starve to death, the military goes completely unfunded, and autistic puppies explode in the streets! All over orphans!

Doltish, fringe, and likely racist bitterclingers who pretend otherwise need to be effectively silenced. Marginalized. Dismissed in all their mouthbreathing teatardishness by the real thinkers. And if that doesn’t work, declare their (most likely racially motivated) recalcitrance a hate crime and maybe think about shipping them off to re-education camps, from which they might hopefully emerge “sober,” “sensible,” and “pragmatic” — rather than tethered to the extremist ideology outlined in, like, really old, nearly incomprehensible documents that, in addition to being disgustingly fetishized, don’t take into account the new realities of today’s dynamic global contexts, nor the living nature of language.

Or else, you know, ovens.

update:

remember, he’s looking out for you, the folks! And you folks need to know that, in a fiscal crisis brought about by massive debt, high unemployment, and profligate spending, the “folks” yelling STOP are going to be blamed for whatever crash occurs should we not allow the government to increase its massive debt, fail to address unemployment, and continue on with its profligate spending.

Extremists.

Honestly. Who still watches this buffoon?

O’Reilly’s almost as good at Madonna style voguing as Obama is. No wonder they get along so well.

O’Reilly, 30 seconds into an interview with God:

    “With all due respect, Lord…”

Bill is reasonable, Jeff. You need to watch and learn.

Besides, that comparison with the yippie movement is totally apt, because 40 years after they did their kabuki in the streets, those “fanatics” donned ties and are now doing better kabuki in the White House.

Also, Mr. Bill, S&P will likely downgrade our credit rating even if we DO raise the debt ceiling, just not as quickly.

“The Tea Party will be blamed.”

    By YOU, O’Reilly. By you.

Most Americans do not like extremism in politics?

Obama increased the national debt by 40% in just two years. Telling him that he can’t borrow any more money is extreme?

    A-skuse me?

If that’s extreme, where the hell’s the middle?

  4. Joe says:

O’Reilly dreams at night of telling Hannity he has a pretty mouth, of Beck squeeling like a pig, and of loofah.

  5. Jeff G. says:

I’m so sick of these finger in the wind fucksticks telling me who will get the blame. Just fix the fucking thing, then worry about blame, such as it is.

    What happened to us? Jesus.

  6. Carin says:

The teaparty needs to reassess? We’ve got to cut 4 trillion or we’re going to be downgraded. Period. Debt Ceiling totally fucking aside. And, I don’t think they’re referring to Obama’s bullshit “cuts.”

That’s right. I said cunt. And it’s going to start getting worse. So leave now if you can’t deal.

  10. Jeff G. says:

Alright. I’ll step away for a bit. See if that helps.

  11. sdferr says:

I came away from watching O’Reilly pining for some Aristotle. Not only did Aristotle have a thoroughgoing concept of moderation or sophrosyne, in contrast to O’Reilly, he understood the importance of theoretical understanding, precisely where O’Reilly is merely dismissive. To put this another way, Aristotle was wise and O’Reilly is an ass who can only remain an ass, an ass incapable of changing himself for the better.

You don’t blame grandma for going senile and soiling herself. You blame the idiotic fools that still take that deranged hag seriously. She is only a step or two away from wandering the streets aimlessly and begging for food and money outside of a McDonald’s drive through.

I recognize he is pre-occupied these days, but maybe Murdoch can pull his head from his ass long enough to stop letting Noonan write for the WSJ?

You can tell all you need to know about O’Reilly by the fact that Obama sat down for an interview with him. (Dubuque’s Action 3 News was booked that day).

It appears that O’Reilly is never going to pull those splinters out of his ass that he’s gotten from all of that fence straddling.

Noonan’s gone from blue collar Reagan democrat to lower-upper class (or upper upper- middle class, take your pick) Manhattanite chatterati Rockefelleresque RINO DIABLo.

It’s like the Circle of Life in action or something.

  24. Ernst Schreiber says:

And O’Reilly hasn’t been the same since he got honey-trapped a few years back.

  25. My last tranny was a hooker too. It happens. Can’t always win the lottery.

GOP Makes Big Gains among White Voters
Especially among the Young and Poor
    Overview

As the country enters into the 2012 presidential election cycle, the electorate’s partisan affiliations have shifted significantly since Barack Obama won office nearly three years ago. In particular, the Democrats hold a much narrower edge than they did in 2008, particularly when the partisan leanings of independents are taken into account.

Notably, the GOP gains have occurred only among white voters; a 2-point Republican edge among whites in 2008 (46% to 44%) has widened to a 13-point lead today (52% to 39%). In sharp contrast, the partisan attachments of black and Hispanic voters have remained consistently Democratic.

While Republican gains in leaned party identification span nearly all subgroups of whites, they are particularly pronounced among the young and poor. A seven-point Democratic advantage among whites under age 30 three years ago has turned into an 11-point GOP advantage today.

I didn’t realize how racist young people were.

  29. Sears Poncho says:

    From the Noonan link:

The Gang of Six—three Democrats and three Republicans in the Senate—this week put forward a plan aimed at reducing the national debt by almost $4 trillion over the next 10 years.

No, you silly bint. It’s a plan (as ethereal as this plan is, what with the committees that will form committees to kind of sorta take a look at developing a plan of action sometime in the future to work on this whole spending problem) that will knock off $4 trillion of the PROJECTED deficit spending of the next 10 years. Even if they actually implemented everything they promised, we’d still be growing the debt for the next 10 years. Love how they tell that lie.

  30. mojo says:

    BOHICA:

WaPo – President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner are close enough to a debt-deficit deal that Boehner told Republican lawmakers Friday that he hoped the deal would come together soon enough for the House to consider by Wednesday of next week, according to GOP staff who were in the room.

“A government big enough to supply you with everything you need is a government big enough to take away everything that you have…. The course of history shows that as the government grows, liberty decreases.”

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

    – Thomas Jefferson (who would appalled at the modern Democrat party that hails him as a “Founder”)

Granny Noonan takes out her teeth and gives the Big Mick a ball wash with no spin.

    Tea Partay!

  34. Jeff G. says:

By the way, O’Reilly also took Brian Ross’ side in the “migraine story” — counseling Ms Bachmann, who he noted was relatively new to the big leagues (unlike Bill, champion of the folks), to keep her security in check and train them better. How dare they interfere with an intrepid reporter just tryin’ to get answers for the folks!

And yet supposed “conservatives” watch this asshole’s show?

    Why?

    Honestly, why?

What the fuck does that even mean?

That because we’re dealing with Bachmann, O’Reilly is right?

You’ve got serious issues. Honestly. I’m not even saying that to be funny. You should get yourself a fucking therapist. Vagina dentata? Is a myth.

  38. Ernst Schreiber says:

I think it’s supposed to mean that the Bachmann phenomenon (whatever that is) is a creation of Faux News

    you know…

    …like the Tea Party,
