1. First, our old friend Ric Locke has published a sci-fi novel, available in digital format Amazon. At $2.99, you couldn’t go wrong even if what you are getting is mostly meh. But this is Ric Locke. So what you’ll be getting is not only interesting, but likely sprinkled with a bit of genius, as well.
Get a copy. Support the arts. Without having some ridiculous New York gatekeeper decide for us all what is and what isn’t worthy of print — a system that seems, remarkably!, to bolster a particular and identifiable liberal world view.
2. Our old friend BJTex has had a bit of a set back. But his doctor is confident a procedure will provide relief with little chance of collateral damage. Thoughts and prayers should be sent to the appropriate people and dieties.
Okay, Ric — I bought your book. Now you have to buy mine when I finally finish writing it.
Don’t have a Kindle? Amazon has a free app to read Kindle books on your PC and other mobile devices.
I’m not much of a science fiction fan, but I’ll try Rics out. Mr. Locke is partly to blame for my haunting of PW. I made my first blog comment here, and he replied to what I said.
So, blame him.
Best to BJTex.
I read Ric’s book a while ago when he first posted it online. The book as pretty good, better than many I’ve read that were published in book form. I enjoyed it.
Thoughts and prayers out to BJTex and family.
Anyone know if the format Ric’s book comes in is printable? I’ll never use a Kindle if I can help it, and really can’t imagine reading a book on my laptop. I can’t even read my own scripts that way without bugging out.
I’ve never found a way to print content from a Kindle app, but Amazon does offer a way for authors to let would-be readers buy a hard copy.
Ric, I would be happy to buy a copy…I dont have a Kindle et al…but Ill get it done.
BJTExas, be safe and do well.
JD, I’ve lost the link but this seems like an appropriate place to put up that page with the paypal link to help with some of BJ’s (possibly considerable) expenses. If you’re taking a look at this thread, BJ, good luck, man. You’ll get one of my incredibly rare (and therefore incredibly valuable and effective) prayers.
Congrats, Ric. I’m sure it’s great. Which is sorta remarkable. Not that many people (like five total, maybe) write interesting enough comments that I’d just assume their literary output would be well worth reading.
Get well soon BJ.
I will check out Mr. Lockes contribution to literature as soon as I figure out what,”electtronic media”, is and how to use it.
I lurves my Kindle. I’ve even managed to read pw on it, but that’s a difficult procedure, given the formatting here is not conducive to ‘Article Mode’ in the ‘experimental’ Kindle browser.
