Double Down at AIPAC

Because I’m assuming there’s at least one person who has the President’s ear who knows what “contiguous” means, I’m going to conclude that what is happening here is that Israel is being set up — that when they are inevitably attacked (likely, following a September UN declaration that the Palestinians “deserve” a state, and that that state should come at the expense of some of Israel’s land, as opposed to any of the vast expanses of Arab land literally surrounding Israel), The World will be able say with a pretend clear conscience and a pretend straight face, that they tried to counsel Israel into peace, but the stubborn greedy Jews wouldn’t budge, and so what happened happened.

There will be condemnations of the new genocide, naturally. Tributes to the accomplishments of Jews. Seinfeld roasts. And maybe down the road another wing to the Holocaust museum. But as far as the transnational left is concerned, Israel must fall. And if that means creating the conditions for its demise and the slaughter of its people at the hands of 7th century throwbacks, or Nazi holdovers, or revolutionary leftists, so be it.

Overstatement?

We’ll see, I guess. But I sometimes think people don’t appreciate just how recent was the Holocaust — and just who the enemies of Israel really are.

Israel has its declared enemies in the Arab states that surround it, and its undeclared enemies in the halls of other western nations. I think the latter are much more dangerous.

Right now, I’m not sure Israel has any friends at all that are in a position to help them. They certainly don’t have the U.S. backing them up, and that loss is probably enough to tip the scales in the direction of another war.

  2. LBascom says:

ASSOCIATES said Soros’ appearance Wednesday was the first they could ever recall in which the billionaire, a Hungarian-born U.S. Jew who escaped the Holocaust by fleeing to London as a child helping the Nazis round up the Jews, had spoken in front of a Jewish group or attended a Jewish function

    For the record…

  3. geoffb says:

Palestinian officials said they would not resume peace negotiations unless Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepts President Obama’s 1967 border guidelines.

“If Netanyahu agrees, we shall turn over a new leaf. If he doesn’t then there is no point talking about a peace process. We’re saying it loud and clear,” Saeb Erekat was quoted as saying Sunday in Ynet.

Erekat, a member of P.A. President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party central committee and chief Palestinian negotiator, repeated similar statements to the KUNA Kuwaiti news agency and others, some rebroadcast on Israel Radio.

Earning a second “Peace Prize” he is.

  4. B. Moe says:

“If Netanyahu agrees we shall turn over a new leaf…”

What do you bet there is a bomb under it?

  5. Pablo says:

    Overstatement?

Yes, but that won’t be for lack of trying, but for ability to succeed.

We’ll see, I guess. But I sometimes think people don’t appreciate just how recent was the Holocaust — and just who the enemies of Israel really are.

The Israelis do. Obama is fleeting. Israel’s desire to exist is not.

  6. serr8d says:

    Obama is fleeting.

But some stains never come out. He’s setting things in motion that may well be irreversible.

Israel can be pushed only so far, then there’ll be a price to pay. Let’s hope the nukes stay closeted for as long as possible.

  7. serr8d says:

Oh, if you’re wondering who shot Bin Laden? Keep wondering, but this is hilarious.

  8. cranky-d says:

This is not going to turn out well at all.

  9. AJB says:

    Stop playing the Holocaust card.

  10. Silver Whistle says:

The spin from Foggy Bottom on “the US position is whatever the Palestinians want” is that

A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said endorsing the pre-1967 ceasefire line was done in the hopes of dissuading the Palestinians from going ahead with their UN plan.

said plan being UDI. If you believe that, I’ve got some nice bridges for sale.

Isn’t it fun when AssJackBait does a drive-by that reminds us of his Judenhass?

And I’m not even that sanguine. Far more likely is that Hamas and Hezbollah decide to launch a new round of rocket barrages into Israel, provoking an Israeli response. This, then, can be used as a pretext to the U.S. and NATO launching direct attacks against Israel, citing the “Responsibility To Protect” doctrine currently being used against Libya on behalf of the Palestinians.

  13. Spiny Norman says:

This, then, can be used as a pretext to the U.S. and NATO launching direct attacks against Israel…

That, I believe, would likely provoke mutiny at the Pentagon (in the form of mass resignations, at the very least).

  14. Spiny Norman says:

    Oops. Hit submit too soon…

The most likely scenario would be an arms embargo, against both sides just to keep it fair, you see? Not that it would affect Hamas/Hizbollah in any meaningful way.

It may have already begun. Last year, Bibi directly asked Obama about purchasing the new, semi-stealthy F-15SE to replace their aging F-15Is, but was greeted with complete and utter silence. Not a word.

I’m quite certain Obama is looking for any excuse to cancel the previously negotiated F-35I contract. A new flare-up with Hamas or Hizbollah would probably be the chance he’s been waiting for…

Is it too late to play the Armeggedon card?

  16. geoffb says:

    Stop playing the Holocaust card.

    Not kosher huh?

  17. Spiny Norman says:

    Stop playing the Holocaust card.

When Hamas and Hizbollah (and their parent organizations, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic Republic of Iran) repeatedly call for a “New Holocaust”, it seems a perfectly reasonable argument to make.

On the other hand, Asshole Jew-Baiter is just an idiot troll with no argument to make at all…

  18. cranky-d says:

Obama the job creator, refusing to sell a staunch ally some airplanes. What a guy!

  19. Bob Reed says:

Obama the achmott guy peace-maker just gave the Palestinians all the excuse they needed to never come back to the negotiating table again; and probably get the UN to back a UDI that also contains verbage about the 1967 borders and right of return.

Then ObaMao will be able to cut off their aid, and cancel military sales; because the UN told him to.

Just like the blacks and the code pinkos, ObaMao is giving US Jews the finger, becuae he knows they won’t vote for anyone else anyway! He needs to spend his quality pandering time to woo Hispanics and Arab immigrants.

  20. Ernst Schreiber says:

What the hell does UDI mean?

    Pardon my ignorance.

  21. Spiny Norman says:

Then ObaMao will be able to cut off their aid, and cancel military sales; because the UN told him to.

The Community Organizer in Chief voting “Present” again.

  22. Spiny Norman says:

    Ernst,

“Unilateral Declaration of Independence”, I presume.

  23. Bob Reed says:

Spiny is right Ernst. UDI = Unilateral Declaration of Independance.

But, I have to say, ObaMao’s allies trying to frame this as him “desperately” trying to undercut a Palestinian move for UDI at the UN in a few weeks is especially ridiculous.

We just have to go to our friends and tell them to vote against it. And, at the same time, quietly float through back channels that if such a vote takes place, and passes, we’ll simply withdraw our financial support from the the UN; as well as drastically reduce our foreign aid to those that cross us on this.

Tell ’em to get the heck out of New Yawk, and go, well, wherever…

  24. Ernst Schreiber says:

If a Palestinian State is declared, Isreal ought to recognize it and then declare war a minute after the first Hamas rocket is fired from Palestine.

Think of Isreal as a bookie letting Palestine “hold the money for a while.”

  25. Ernst Schreiber says:

Or Isreal could just invoke the “Bush Doctrine” and invade Palestine pre-emptively, I suppose.

  26. cranky-d says:

Bob, I like your plan for the UN no matter what happens. I don’t see how the UN benefits us in the slightest.

I wonder what John Bolton thinks about that. If he sees a benefit, I would change my mind.

  27. Pablo says:

    Stop playing the Holocaust card.

Stop trying to do it again.

  28. Silver Whistle says:

According to the script, Palestine will be declared an independent state, demilitarised, but simultaneously responsible for security.

So, Dear Leader had to do this, don’t you see? He’s really saved Israel.

  29. Jeff G. says:

    A new Holocaust?

Fucking Jews. Ever since the Germans tried to exterminate them after noting beforehand their intention to do so, the Hebes take every silly directly-stated threat to exterminate them seriously.

    Whiners.

Best to be seen as too sophisticated to take such threats seriously. Then after, you can always just pretend that you, too, mourn.

  30. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

    Stop playing the Holocaust card.

    I hate Illinois Nazis.

    He’s really saved Israel.

No, no SW. Look at your WH press packet. It’s saved or…created. See, in the UN’s favored ME maps (page 42-44), Israel don’t exist.

But the messiah is on it now.

  31. Silver Whistle says:

I don’t suppose the 1967 borders + land swaps would mean Israel getting all the territory up to the River Jordan, and swapping the Palestinians for as much of Jordan as they can handle?

    It’s just a thought.

According to the script, Palestine will be declared an independent state, demilitarised, but simultaneously responsible for security.

Wow…Imagine, a bunch of terrorists charged with maintaining security…Instead of being charged, they should be convicted! and sentanced.

The folly of all this is breathtaking. But then I guess Obama’s got to give all of his Palestinians and Palestinian loving buddies their money’s worth, eh?

  35. Pablo says:

Fucking Jews. Ever since the Germans tried to exterminate them after noting beforehand their intention to do so, the Hebes take every silly directly-stated threat to exterminate them seriously.

The utter refusal to take people at their oft and forcefully stated word never ceases to amaze me. The willful ignorance of the enlightened…

  36. Spiny Norman says:

Wow…Imagine, a bunch of terrorists charged with maintaining security…Instead of being charged, they should be convicted! and sentanced.

That comes later, after an independent Arab Muslim “Palestine” attacks Israel and get obliterated in return.

I wonder what “Push them into the sea!” means to a lowly paid Soros drone like AJB.

I also wonder if he can figure out the tip on a $100 restaurant bill without checking a far left website for guidance.

The Holocaust is old, I guess. Like the Constitution. Happened back in the 60s, right? That’s like a hundred years ago.

  38. Spiny Norman says:

From documents leaked by WikiLeaks, we learn that Saudi Arabia had asked the United States to bomb Iran. The underlying thought is that Shiite Iran would encounter little risk in using an atom bomb against Sunni countries which can hardly retaliate.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi told US Air Force General T. Michael Moseley in 2007 that the waterways for oil transport from the Middle East would be threatened by an Iranian bomb. He asked the American army to stop Iran’s nuclear program “by all means possible.” The same request was made in 2009 by the King of Bahrain to US General David Petraeus.

I’m beginning to believe whoever created and launched the Suxnet worm is deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize.

I notice Gerstenfeld used my favorite Iranian “moderate” Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani quote:

“the use of a nuclear bomb in Israel will leave nothing on the ground, whereas it will only damage the world of Islam.”

I distinctly recall outraged leftist media pundits decrying the Bush Administration’s “hardline stance” against Iran for Ahmedinnerjacket’s election victory over that “moderate”…

  39. Spiny Norman says:

The above quotes are from Jeff’s link at #29.

  40. serr8d says:

From documents exposed by WikiLeaks we know that authorities in the United States, Great Britain and Russia are worried that Islamic terrorists could come into possession of Pakistani atom bombs or fissile material.

That same Pockistan where, this very minute, a measly 15 infiltrators are holding up a naval air base in Karachi.

A coalition of the worried nations should just go in there and take their nukes, telling them we can’t allow children to play with matches.

  41. B. Moe says:

I also wonder if he can figure out the tip on a $100 restaurant bill without checking a far left website for guidance.

Doesn’t matter, if it is that much somebody else is paying.

  42. bh says:

Heh. I almost said $10 but, you know, inflation.

  43. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

Either Mudville Gazette or BlackFive…(Google, I’m lazy) had the same bird song as serr8d.

Take the nukes by force or destroy them on the way OUT. No more aid for you! Bomb the shit out of whatever pick up sticks program they attempt after.

The Pocki’s PM went to China to play hug & kiss and pick up 50 busted jets that p’rolly can’t manage a crop dusting.

    Fine.

We invite a the Indian PM and a slew of their Generals and Admirals over here to tour our bases and show ’em all the cool shit we’re ready to sell ’em. All priced to go!

Israel would get a breather, and Iran would shit bacon strips.

  44. JD says:

AJB is Yelverton. You are all aware of that, right?

  45. Roddy Boyd says:

Jeff, per #29, I would only note that only some of your people see it this way. Many might have “concerns,” but there is little likelihood of split ticket voting. Obama has nothing to fear from doing any of this and only stands to curry favor abroad and loses no votes here. It is, rather literally, the ultimate riskless formulation for him….in the short-term.

  46. B. Moe says:

“Obama has nothing to fear from doing any of this…”

Other than leaving a legacy as the next Neville Chamberlain.
