Roll Call

House: 260-167
Senate: 81-19

According to Alan West (appearing on Levin’s show), only 21 of the 87 freshman voted against; evidently, great pressure was being brought to bear. The good thing is, that pressure separated the diamonds from the coal lumps.

So, if all the freshmen had voted against it, like they were supposed to do, it wouldn’t have passed. I guess they feel secure in their positions already.

Strangely enough, my rep voted against it (Candice Miller). I’ve never e-mailed my rep before, but she got one from me tonight saying thanks.

    59+15. I have my party.

  4. dicentra says:

Well, all three of my critters voted against it. Hatch is scared silly of Chaffetz.

  5. Pablo says:

I’m really liking Chaffetz. But not like West. I’ve got a serious mancrush on that boy.

Apparently NH is coal country. Which, that sucks.

My congressman, Diane Black, voted FOR the Democrat’s 2011 budget. But , OTOH, she’s the author of the bill that would’ve defunded Planned Parenthood, and, being on the Budget Committee, stood right up there with Paul Ryan when he introduced their most excellent 2012 budget.

Makes me want to both give her a cupcake and then rip it away and give it to a passing hound (that might or might not be named ‘Boy’).

  10. Pablo says:

Princess Lindsay voted nay too? Hmmmmm.
