"He called me 'anti-American'"

Paul Ryan on Mark Levin’s show yesterday evening.

I really thought that Ryan should have walked out of that campaign speech. Too polite?

  2. PCachu says:

Walk out, and if The Won actually deigns to notice you’re walking out, give him the backhand-bird as you go. It’s perfectly in keeping with what we’ve seen of the New Civility to date. Plus, there’s a better-than-even chance you’ll get a Standing O.

  3. mojo says:

Yep. Even issued a special invite, to have your dumb ass front and center while he called you names. And you didn’t have the balls to stand up and walk out.

  4. serr8d says:

Should’ve been a ‘Joe Wilson’ moment from someone, anyone.

I’ll bet it’ll happen before much longer.

  5. LBascom says:

“And you didn’t have the balls to stand up and walk out.”

Eh, I don’t think it takes balls to run away, and there is much to be said for illustrating honor through contrast. We aren’t the flee-bagger party, obama and the Wisconsin legislature would have loved to see Ryan storm out, it would have given their bad behavior cover.

Someone has to be the grown-up.

  6. motionview says:

I was fantasizing something along the lines of “I thought I was here for a serious policy speech, not the start of your 2012 campaign. And don’t hurt yourself trying to respond, there’s nothing about this on TOTUS.”

  7. LBascom says:

Anyone that thought Obama was going to deliver a serious policy speech doesn’t know the man.

I would be disappointed if Ryan acted the drama queen, and made it about him. Better to do like he did and remember he works for the people, and he’s got a job to do however unpleasant. It’s the difference between a public servant and an elitist tyrant.

  8. LTC John says:

I’ve seen Presidents descend into lies, partisanship, foolishness (I am just old enough to realyl recall Carter, mind you) but to do so in such a shabby way is new to me.

I was embarrassed for all of us.

  9. Mikey NTH says:

Par for the course for the passive-aggressive pansy in the White House. He did the same thing to the Supreme Court at the SoU address. He flipped off people at debates. There isn’t one ounce of manliness in his body anywhere and he is more crass and tasteless than Trump.

We’re going to have a heck of a job cleaning up from the mess President Hissy-Fits is going to leave us with, and if he loses his re-election it isn’t going to be a pretty time between early November and late January.

Are we sure Barrack and Michelle aren’t a lesbian couple?

    BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!

“Are we sure Barrack and Michelle aren’t a lesbian couple?”

He’s proof that testosterone alone does not a man make.

  12. Squid says:

I’m thinking “dignity” is going to be a major part of the 2012 campaign. The dignity of the office of the President; the dignity of the nation in the world; the dignity of the individual American to provide for himself and his family.

Only problem is finding a candidate who possesses actual dignity.

  13. A fine scotch says:

By Squid’s criteria, there go Trump and Huckabee.

  14. Squid says:

    Scotch,

By my reckoning, most of the usual suspects would be all to happy to grovel for a price. A fairly low price, at that.

  15. LBascom says:

“I’m thinking “dignity” is going to be a major part of the 2012 campaign.”

    I wish!

Probably wouldn’t sell like Snooky though. Or Trump.

    We’re in bad trouble.

  16. Squid says:

Perhaps “going to be” was the wrong formulation. “Should be” might have been more appropriate.

Seriously, though — I could see a candidate getting a lot of mileage out of pointing out all the instances where Obama has acted like a child personally, where he’s used our foreign and domestic policies like playthings, and where he’s treated Americans like children.

If we can’t have free shit any more, at least we can have pride. Self-worth. Dignity.

  17. cranky-d says:

Pride and dignity are at odds with getting “free” stuff from the government. Acting like spoiled children is much more appropriate.

  18. Seth says:

I don’t ever recall, since I’ve been old enough and interested enough to pay attention to politics, a president having been so lacking in graciousness.

  19. Danger says:

Krauthammer suggested that the longer the pubs wait to get in the race the more likely someone like Ryan would get in.

I think Obama and the rest of the dummycrat’s behavior might just be a bigger factor. I’d contribute mightily to see Mr. Ryan tear Obama a new one.

  20. motionview says:

I would be disappointed if Ryan acted the drama queen

Actually, I think you’re right about that LB.
