…for Doltin’ Joe.
And who can blame him, really? You’ve heard one Marxist sales pitch you’ve heard ’em all.
Meanwhile, Paul Ryan? Not amused at the way Obama attempted to frame the Ryan budget plan. Sayeth Ryan:
By failing seriously to confront the most predictable economic crisis in our nation’s history, the President’s policies are committing us and our children to a diminished future. We are looking for bipartisan solutions, not partisan rhetoric. When the president is ready to get serious about it, we’re going to be here working. Exploiting people’s emotions of fear, envy and anxiety is not hope, it’s not change, it’s partisanship. We don’t need partisanship. We don’t need demagoguery. We need solutions. And we don’t need to keep punting to other people to make tough decisions. If we don’t make tough decisions today, our children are going to have to make much, much tougher decisions tomorrow. So I am sincerely disappointed that the President, at a moment when we are putting ideas on the table to try and engage in a thoughtful dialogue to fix this country’s economic and fiscal problems, decides to pour on the campaign rhetoric, launch his re-election, and pass partisan broadsides against us and making it that much harder for the two parties to come together with mutual respect of one another to get things done.
Well, there’s where you went wrong, Mr Ryan: you can’t expect the President to respect any of you after the House leadership just got finished letting him bend them over a divan on his way to a victory jog up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
If you’re going to behave like concubines, you can expect the pimp daddies to treat you as such.

After hearing the President’s speech, I am compelled to ask the obvious questions.
How many types of government cheese are there? How do you sign up? Will the government establish drainage standards for hobo jungles?
No one should make the mistake of including Ryan in with the bent-over-the-divan crew, especially Obama and the progressive left. Ryan’s willingly putting his political career on the line by even discussing entitlement reform, acknowledging that fact, and calling the Democrats out on the demagoguery.
I’m hoping he gets the opportunity to work in a, “there you go again”, every now and then :)
And here’s to you, Mrs. Obama
Jesus loves you more than you will know (Wo, wo, wo)
God bless you please, Mrs. Obama

Most of all, you’ve got to hide it from the kids
Coo, coo, ca-choo, Mrs Obama

What’s that you say, Mrs. Obama
Doltin’ Joe has left and gone away
(Hey, hey, hey…hey, hey, hey)
Ryan gets grouped in. That’s the point.
We need different leadership. Ryan should be among that group.
Mr. Ryan is one of the brighter flashlights in a world of worn out batteries, but still, this is horseshit. McCain grade horseshit.
There is no longer any middle ground.
There are those that see government as the solution to every problem, and work diligently to herd the people into the correct line. Then there are those that see government as a necessary evil, to be kept under leash lest it ravage the individual. Collectivism is incompatible with individualism, You can’t have more of one without less of the other.
The tragedy of the information age, with it’s computer programs/models and daily polling, is the categorization of the individual. America, with free enterprise and individual endeavor, is a fluid society. Classless. You start out delivering newspapers, and end owning a newspaper, which you pass on to your kids. Vows from politicians of every stripe to protect the “middle class” act as if we have a caste system, and the idea isn’t to start small and prosper through hard work, but to accept your lot in life and make the best life your station allows.
Choices, ambition, and advancement are not collectivist goals or desires, but they are crucial to American exceptionalism.
One doesn’t stay free compromising with someone that wants to enslave you.
I worry there are none in Washington that still believe in Americans.
Automatic tax increases to cover deficit spending. Why the fuck do we even have a congress?
This president has effectively usurped all of their duties. Executive branch czars and such are mandating shit in their agencies without benefit of congressional legislation to do so (EPA), recess appointments to get around congress, bombing countries without congressional authorization, and now congress won’t even have to vote to change the tax rate?
Fuck this. They might as well be medals on Obama’s magic cloak for all we need them.
We are Venezuela with crappy rap music instead of the tango. Libya without the sand.
When one believes, as the Democrats clearly do, that ALL wealth belongs to the government and not to the people who earned it and created it, that sort of crap is perfectly reasonable.
As far as his usurping the powers of Congress, well, He Won, and he’s damn well not going to be bound by a bundle of “negative rights”, either.
Anytime someone attempts to group Ryan in with the divan-bent-over-crew we should correct that image; that’s what I was speaking to Jeff, not that you were grouping him with the cave-artists.
I’ve long agreed that Ryan should be more prominent among the leadership, but someone sharp has to run the budget committe.
Remember when unitary executive was the scariest thing ever?
Gee. Who coulda seen this coming?
You all can do worse than reading here. Is all’s I’m sayin’.
Wealth is one of those words that to the muddle means ‘something someone has who is richer than me – I’m not wealthy so I have no wealth.’ Your comment then goes into the ‘it doesn’t affect me, so why worry I’m going back to American Idol’ ignore-zone.
Start carping on the fact that the democrats believe that all income is made to benefit the state and you get what’s left over and you might, might crack the ignore-zone and get more traction.
Too bad the republicans won’t play Alisky and start bleating about how the democrats have a plan to have all paychecks paid to the government and the muddle might pay more attention. But then good men don’t do Alinsky, do they?
I could only watch a bit of the speech live, but I settled down and watched it last night. Honestly, I don’t think it could have been worse. Partisan. Class baiting. Horrible.
W/in the first 10 minutes, he gave a little history lesson, complete with smug look, about “how we got here.” Nothing about growing government. Nothing about the increasing of entitlement. No. It was those DAMN MILLIONAIRS AND BILLIONAIRS and their tax cuts, on the backs of the poor. And complete support for his own spending, it was right and he doesn’t regret it one bit.
FUCK you Obama.
Contrast that speech with what he said he would be as Candidate Obama. Hope and Change. Not the same old politics.
And, I’ve mentioned that my husband has refused to believe that the Republicans didn’t act in good faith last week. But, after listening to that yesterday, he says it doesn’t matter. It is fucking war.
It doesn’t matter as much how I got him “over”, just that I did.
I am going to keep saying it because it needs to be said: one of the absolute key problems is how many people don’t know the difference between wealth and income.
The day Obama truly attempts to tax billionaires will be the day he gets taken out.
