A humbled Obama moves meekly forward

Fresh off the Historic Loss of roughly 1% of his proposed $3+ trillion dollar budget* suffered at the hands of John Boehner and his relentless, cost-cutting GOP jungle cats, a clearly weakened President Obama will try to regain footing Wednesday when he offers what the Washington Post is calling a “new approach to deficit reduction” — one that very timidly and bashfully ignores both his own debt commission’s recommendations and the results of the November midterm elections to reintroduce class warfare rhetoric, tax increases, and “reform” that will include raising the debt limit and doubling the debt in the course of the next decade.

Clearly chastened by the upstart GOP firebrands who have so triumphed in the new era of Washington civility, Obama will very sheepishly call for “the rich” to pay their fair share, ensuring that a freshly poor federal government — down a whopping $38 billion in proposed spending — has enough “revenues” to pay for social necessities. Like abortion on demand, new federal lands, and the kind of sprawling bureaucratic apparatus that is a necessity for any government hoping to return to fiscal sanity. Look for very timid plans to increase estate and payroll taxes, and to further ever so delicately and carefully, so as not to raise the ire of a dangerous GOP leadership, wage war against small businesses, the middle class, manufacturing, and the energy industries.

We’ve got him on the run, boys! Take a victory lap.

We have this article explaining just how rough President Obama has it: http://tinyurl.com/3d64a4a

Quick, libs, tell me again just how smart the current occupant of the Oval Office is?

The comments at the end of the article tend to give one a little more faith about our fellow Americans.

Come now, Jeff. Much of the professional punditocracy is telling you that this represents a move to the fiscal right, much in the way the Titanic went “hard-a-starboard” when it spotted an iceberg in its way…

That worked out well for the Titanic, didn’t it?

    Politico fluffs Plouffe

Plouffe indicated that Obama… would not endorse many of the proposals in the long-term deficit reduction plan offered by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), chairman of the House Budget Committee.

“It may pass the House. It’s it’s not gonna become law,” Plouffe said. “I don’t think the American people are gonna sign up for something that puts – most of the burden on the middle class, people trying to go to college, on senior citizens while not just asking nothing of the wealthy – giving them at least a $200,000 tax [break] and so that’s a choice you’re making.”

Plouffle also indicated that Obama would propose rescinding the Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthy as part of his deficit reduction plan.

“For upper income Americans he does believe that they need to contribute to deficit reduction in this country,” Plouffe said on Fox News Sunday.

“They’re plan is a trillion dollar tax cut,” Plouffe said. “So again, the reason you have to ask more for seniors, the middle class and the poor… is because you’re giving the rich these tax cuts.”

Plotter and Obambi are fundamentally dishonest and unserious about this. This is a campaign ad for them. Same old playbook.

  5. JD says:

    Plotter? I typed Poofter.

  6. Time for some more redistribution of debt.

The soon to be released secret plan to make ObamaCare work?

Leeches. Lots and lots of leeches.

  8. McGehee says:

But I thought they repealed the tax-reporting part, B. Moe.

    How come The O continues to pursue the 2008 tax agenda . . . . ?

We have got to drive a stake through the heart of “tax the rich” !!!!
