Why not just skip the middle man

…and get right to outlawing conservatism in Wisconsin?

And if that doesn’t work, you can always vote them into slavery, or perhaps move them into camps. Anything to get back to the good old days of freedom!

If only the US were more like China.

Come on. When things don’t turn out the way you wanted them to, you are allowed, nay required, to do everything in your power, legal or illegal, to change that outcome.

    It’s the American Way™!

The Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism analyzed a computer-generated random sample of 1,910 emails from the more than 50,000 that flooded Walker’s office in the week after he unveiled his plan on Feb. 11. Nearly all were related to the bill.

The emails were released Friday as the result of an open records lawsuit brought in Dane County Circuit Court by Isthmus newspaper and the Wisconsin Associated Press. A settlement reached earlier in the week required the governor to produce the emails and pay the plaintiffs’ legal fees, which totaled just over $7,000.

At the request of Isthmus, the Center analyzed the emails. A team of reporters logged each of the emails in the sample as for or against the bill, unclear or unrelated. They also noted the location of the sender when possible.

Of the emails related to the bill, 62 percent supported it, while 32 percent opposed it. The margin of error for the Center’s sample size is plus or minus 2.3 percentage points.

In other news, 2009 called, and…

A candid interview with the WI Secretary of State.

He’s safe till 2014, which might explain his willing partisanship.

  5. dicentra says:

On the other hand, it seems that efforts at recall are fair enough, even though I doubt that the “Defending Wisconsin PAC” is all that interested in “fair” or anything like unto it.

Also, for a second I thought someone’s last name was Isthmus. That would have been awesome.

  6. cranky-d says:

The recall is fair and legal, but kind of dumb and whiney. The thug tactics we’ve also been seeing, not so much.

It would make Presidenting easier. Presidenting is hard.

  8. Pablo says:

Actually, I think this is a very nice way to piss off the Wisconsin electorate. Recalling people who flee the state to avoid their duty is one thing. Recalling people who won’t do things your way is a tantrum.

    Presidenting is hard.

That’s why they took out the “id”

    for his ego.

    Well played, Ernst, Well!Played!

  11. Pablo says:

    Indeed. Very nice, Ernst.

Imagine if they get away with this. Will the new democracy be having recalls after every bill; not even passed yet? Madness. How and where does it stop?

We need to fry these assholes in the next election, big time. My hope is that they truly have stepped in it.

Will the new democracy be having recalls after every bill; not even passed yet?

Isn’t that kind of how it works with Britain’s parliament?

…Not that that’s much of a reason to endorse it. Ugh.

Some other looks at the decision.*

    Yep.

After all the analysis, it always comes back to this. It’s the simple truth.
