House set to pass another CR

No cuts to ObamaCare. Or Planned Parenthood. Or CPB. The GOP gets $6 billion in cuts — the equivalent to what we’re borrowing every 36 hours.

The House GOP should be standing up for the Constitution. Instead, they’re worrying about political optics.

These people don’t learn.

This is their second chance. They won’t get a third — at least, not from me.

YMMV

The vote is early this afternoon. Try to make a difference: Congressional switchboard phone number: 202-224-3121

What is wrong with these mouthbreathers? They are like very dense children.

For months, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, John Boehner, etc. have been in full Henny Penny mode making sure everyone knows the sky is falling, but that they will not, under any circumstance, shut down the government or do anything significant to avert the crisis.

And yet . . . and yet, by 14 points, the public is going to blame the GOP for a shut down. Clearly, the House GOP strategy is failing. Saying the sky is falling, but then not doing anything about it really is not what any reasonable person could call a winning strategy.

The public hates losers. Right now, House Republicans are looking like losers. House Republicans will look at this polling and decide they need to be even more accommodating of Democrats. They should look at this polling and realize it is time to lead. Their accommodationist, non-confrontational strategy is losing them the public that wanted them to cut spending.

You’re more forgiving than I, Jeff. I didn’t give them a second chance.

    “Polls show”

Go here to sign Congressman John Fleming’s petition to defund the Obamacare provisions, vote YES!

    Defund Obamacare Now

I noticed today that over in Denver, the city council decided to vote themselves a 6.6% pay hike.
Defund Obamacare and then cut failed states like CA and every defunct municipality off the federal dole.
Keep cutting until these people who are addicted to spending other peoples money get off the nipple and go earn their own fucking money.

Obama has been so presidential lately on budget crisis’ (crisis, what crisis? Print some more fucking money and make it rain. Those evil corporations need to spend the money they have in the bank… buy shit for no reason and return and employee people just to hang around… like the DMV. This would restore or economy..) What a dumbass.

Then the leadership on Japan. A couple of Navy ships, some rescue experts (who were gonna go anyway) and Hillary Clinton delivering crucial supplies for the reactors… well, or not.
Nice speech though delivered as it was between rounds of golf… it was almost impromptu-like

I’d mention Libya, but Qaddaffi is encircling the last of the rebels, paying oil cash to the Norks for arms. The rebels are about a week from extermination.
Compare and contrast Qaddaffi and Mubarak and tell me which one was the worst… maybe Hugo Chavez had his friends Bill Ayers and Sean Penn put a word in to the president for Qaddaffi… after he finished watching the Big East Tournament and practicing his jumper with the private trainer the taxpayers fly in from Chicago of course.

We elected a child king/puppet of the left.
If we elect him again, say hello dustbin of history

Someone help me out, WTF is the end game of this strategy? The Dems don’t care about passing any budget, as long as they keep the machine running. They’ll do this indefinitely.

If the Republicans think they can do this indefinitely, all proud about cutting $6 billion, they are fools.

These dumb asses need to cut a fucking trillion bucks from the budget, just to have a deficit that’s still larger than anything Bush gave us.

  8. Jeff G. says:

The end game is this, Lee: the $61 billion in cuts will be tied to raising the debt ceiling. The GOP will take the cuts and vote to raise the ceiling. Then they’ll declare victory.

Even as the Dems do all the private celebrating.

Remember one thing: this is only about the 2011 budget which is almost 1/2 over. The real weight of the tea party should reign down on the 2012 budget numbers.

Kinda like the 2011 budget repair of Walker’s. The real screaming in Wisconsin will be when they take up the new budget not the last year’s bandaid fix. The republicans are in much the same place as Walker in that regard.

  10. Seth says:

That may be so, Stephanie (I suspect it’s the GOP leadership’s calculation, anyway), and frankly I can wait for the 2012 budget battle before declaring the new GOP majority an utter failure. BUT, but, but, but….there are some battles that simply MUST happen now, and the healthcare funding is one of them. That thing is a trojan horse that simply can’t be allowed any further in the city gates.

When can we expect another ruling from the court on the constitutionality of Obamacare? Is there some hope it will be stopped by a judge soon?

Juneish is what I understand as far as the docket for the SE District. Unless the Pelican lands first.
