things to do in Denver when you're dead, 90

Laser tag!

Because let’s face it: you suggest trying that shit while you’re still alive and you may as well propose to your own fist.

This place has great coverage and commentary on politics, culture and language, but this is why I come here.

  2. Jeff G. says:

Speaking of hand love, I am able to finger walk the entire length of a 6# sledge with both hands. Will try to get an 8# next. See here:

That dude has one of the strongest grips around. Trust me, it ain’t as easy as he makes it look.

  3. bh says:

I’m built exactly like that guy. Divided by two.

  4. Jeff G. says:

(this one some of you I’ve met in person have seen me do).

  5. JD says:

    That dude is strong.

  6. Jeff G. says:

I just did that stool lift with a 10# plate and a taller bar stool. For some reason, that one is relatively easy for me.

Jedd J — the guy in the videos — recently set the world record for two hand pinch lift. 258 lbs or some such. The guy he took the record from might have something to say about that, though.

  7. bh says:

I can crush an empty aluminum beer can with one hand. Also, cardboard toilet paper tubes and some of the weaker cakes, like Angel Food.

You wouldn’t want to piss me off if you had a bunch of that stuff laying around.

  8. Watching that stuff makes me mourn for how out of shape I’ve become. *sulks*

  9. JD says:

    I bench pressed 60 pounds 3 times, curled 25 pounds, did 4 pushups, and 3 sit-ups. I am a monster.

  10. Pellegri says:

About all I’ve got is picking up the fifteen-pound cat and folding my arms across my chest.

    Suggestively.

  11. gebrauchshund says:

I’m pretty good on the 12oz. curls.

So I’ve got that goin’ for me. Which is nice.

  12. JD says:

    I heart Pellegri.

  13. Stephanie says:

I can crush heads with my thighs. Does that count?

  14. JD says:

But can you make a 10 foot downhill right to left slider to halve a hole?

  15. Stephanie says:

I actually read greens well. Best advice I was ever given…. downhill putt – hit the putt on the peripheral of the putter not on the sweet spot. It works. Deadens the ball without sacrificing the read.

I’m playing a tourney in a few weeks… we’ll see how I do under tourney conditions then.

BTW, the daughter is in talks with SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design – Atlanta) to play for them next year. She’s supposed to play a round with the coach in the next couple of weeks. Fingers crossed. If all goes well he’s talking about $15 of the $38k tuition/room/board covered. Portfolio submission and additional scholarships might just make it doable. NAIA, BTW. She shot an 85 last week at a tourney and had 19 Stableford points. Not too shabby!

  16. Squid says:

SCAD golf? I wanna see pictures of their equipment. I can only imagine the bags are exquisitely tooled, exotically dyed leathers. What kind of wood do they carve their drivers from?

  17. ThomasD says:

Just ran out to the garage. All I have is an 8# sledge, so I gave it a go. Starting with my right hand I made it a bit over half way up the shaft before my thumb refused to cooperate any longer. Surprisingly my off hand was almost equal.

    Now my thumbs are throbbing.

  18. A fine scotch says:

What do you have against Boondocks Family Fun Center, Jeff?

Stephanie, SCAD is an awesome school. My neighbor went there and LOVED it. If your daughter goes and wants to know more about the school/classes/teachers/area, shoot me an email.

  19. Stephanie says:

Yes it is an awesome school. And it better be for $30K a year plus room and dining plan.

LOL, squid. FYI they have a very fine equestrian program, too. You should see the riding habits and leather goods they use.
