Oops!

A reminder, in light of the NPR sting: “NASCAR Fans Fail to Bite NBC’s Bigot Bait”.

The anti-intellectualism, it burns!

Reached for comment, former NPR executive Ron Schiller called any request for him to comment on the story both “racist and weirdly evangelical.” Then he ate a plum-infused puff pastry and let slip the most marvelous little potpouri fart!

(thanks to Stephanie)

If a TeaBagger utters a slur and there’s no progressive around to hear it, is it still racist?

  2. Joe says:

Because people, people who like NASCAR racing, are the luckiest people, in the world…

I guess Dateline will need to go back to trolling for child molesters on the internet. I would suggest Daily Kos would be a good place to check out.

  3. cranky-d says:

That was a little while ago, before the Tea Party existed. I’m sure now that anyone even vaguely non-white would be tarred and feathered at any NASCAR event.

BECAUSE OF THE TEA PARTY HATRED!!

    The smug, it intoxicates.

  5. Stephanie says:

    See this also.

Sucks to have to support the narrative in a bearded Spock universe.

  6. Jeff G. says:

Yes, cranky-d. It was meant to juxtapose.

But I’ve made that more clear.

  7. Stephanie says:

What are you anyways Cranky-d – some latte drinking, history began this morning progressive?

    I keed.

  8. cranky-d says:

The left has a memory that can be measured in microseconds. The failure of something they did over four years ago to “prove” how racist all non-lefties are wouldn’t matter to them, because in any case we’re certainly evil now.

But that’s just my take on things. Plus, I’m very bitter.

David Edwards is on the board of NPR and lives here in Wisconsin. I wonder how his day is going? I was curious if Milwaukee would survive a loss of Federal funding or go black. So, I asked him.

There’s a small meltdown going on over here at one of his articles. A bonus Bullet threat was made on Okeefe that I captured for the #New Tone.

Is to wrong to enjoy throwing a little salt into the wound?

If it was intended as a racist slur, then maybe.

    POLL!

Only if you forget the cayenne pepper.

Lee… I believe the proper phraseology is “Reader Poll!”

  12. LBascom says:

Of course you’re right Steph, I was going for nuance.

  13. Squid says:

I missed the article linked in #5 the first time around. Wouldn’t it be great if more people considered themselves proud Americans first and foremost, and saved the identity politics for stuff like good restaurants and festival days?

    Larf larf larf.

    WSJ:

National Public Radio President and Chief Executive Vivian Schiller resigned in the wake of comments by a fellow executive that angered conservatives and renewed calls to end federal funding for public broadcasting.

A hidden-camera video of an NPR executive calling the tea party racist and saying the network would be better off without federal money has led to that executive’s immediate resignation.

  15. Stephanie says:

Per AP: “WASHINGTON – PBS says it was contacted by the same fake Muslim group that arranged a meeting with an NPR executive and secretly videotaped him calling the tea party racist.
PBS spokeswoman Anne Bentley said Wednesday that they had an initial conversation with the Muslim Education Action Center but had concerns about the group. She says a PBS executive was contacted, but when PBS couldn’t confirm the organization’s credentials, they halted discussions.”
