The post-racial presidency

— Whereby “post-racial” has been re-imagined, through the magic of progressive linguistic slippage, to mean “absolutely obsessed with race, and willing to use frequent and disingenuous charges of racism as a shield against any and all criticisms in the hope that doing so will shame critics into frightened silence; gin up ‘faux outrage’ against such critics among the culturally sanctimonious; and compel ‘pragmatists’ in the opposing ideological camp to counsel against honest and direct attacks on leftism for fear the muddy middle moderate or ‘independent’ voter will be turned off by how ‘unhelpful’ are such truths when presented in such ways.”

Beyond that, I don’t have much to say on the matter. With the obvious caveat that any clear thinking person who has resisted leftist indoctrination and is no longer constrained by invidious PC templating will recognize from whence the real racism flows.

WHY IS THE MAN LOOKING TO KEEP US DOWN? RISE UP, MY TEA PARTY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

    WE SHALL OVERCOME!

  2. Squid says:

The New York Times found that “many of the {2010 black Republican} candidates suggest that they felt empowered by Mr. Obama’s election, that it made them realize that what had once seemed impossible—for a black candidate to win election with substantial white support—was not.”

I’m pretty sure they mean “…for a black candidate to win election without the support of plantation blacks and plantation-owner Democrats.”

    BECAUSE OREOS ARE INAUTHENTIC!

    God i hate him.

  4. alppuccino says:

Was just thinking about this subject, if I may:

Charles Payne, who came up from Harlem to become a very successful Wall Street guy and appears regularly on Fox (I’m an admirer big time, very common sense approach) admitted to voting for Obama because of the hope for – wait for it – his race.

He disagrees with absolutely everything Obama stands for, yet because they share some pigment in common, though Charles has him beat by a few hundred shades, he was willing to sacrifice the country’s economy to give a brutha his vote.

That is the most racist thing I’ve ever heard of. I still like Charles though. He’s got heart. He just fucked that one up royally.

  5. Pablo says:

O/T, but breaking. Judge Vinson, apparently unimpressed with the DOJ’s recent Motion for Clarification, has ordered them to file their appeal within 7 days if they plan to do so.

  6. Pablo says:

Make that an expedited appeal. On the down side, he did stay his ruling.

  7. Shaitan says:

I just hope it convinces people. Because I’ve know this for a while. I don’t know why it’s such a shocka for other folks. Obama’s been riding the “articulate black man” wave, and now we know that’s not synonymous with “substantive man”. He looks good, votes present, and gives a rousing speech. Our President, ladies and gentlemen.

  8. Jim in KC says:

Hell, he can’t even give a rousing speech without fake columns and a teleprompter.

  9. Dana says:

Hey, I’m not racist: I don’t like President Obama’s white half, either.

  10. McGehee says:

Obama’s been riding the “articulate black man” wave

Which is at least half fraudulent; when his teleprompter fails you can see the BSOD in his eyes.

As for black, if you want to make people’s heads explode point out that the only involvement any of his ancestors could possibly have had with American slavery was as perpetrators, not victims.

  11. Blake says:

Damn, McGehee, great line: “Which is at least half fraudulent; when his teleprompter fails you can see the BSOD in his eyes.

McGehee, you should never give history lessons to those who refuse to learn. I mean, who wants to talk about the quaint practice of blacks capturing blacks in Africa and selling them into slavery?

Rather déclassé to discuss such trifling matters.

  12. JHoward says:

The wild thing about that, McGehee, is the self evidence. Such comments are one-note, one-sided arguments. They argue themselves as you stand and innocently smile. They’re like mental TNT lobbed over the PC fence into mental tinder. Gotta love that.

Leftism is a disorder, not a principle. Treat it as nothing more.

  13. LBascom says:

I’ve come to believe that W. E. B. DuBois conception of double consciousness has poisoned the black American sense of identity rather than explained it. Personally I think he took the universal human struggle for personal identity, and claimed that struggle of black people in America as a unique event, at once assuming a victim mentality and at the same time “gifted with second-sight”, the super-racial ability to discern any hint of racism in the hearts of men. Which is surprisingly prevalent.

This is an interesting, if dated, essay on the subject.

McWhorter was optimistic in 2002 that “the race question” would no longer be an issue in 25 years. Jackson, Sharpton, and Obama are determined to see that doesn’t happen.

  14. Squid says:

…if you want to make people’s heads explode point out that the only involvement any of his ancestors could possibly have had with American slavery was as perpetrators, not victims.

Now we understand why he doesn’t like the British; they put his ancestors out of business.

  15. McGehee says:

Heh. I was referring mostly to his mother’s side, but y’all are on the ball.

  19. Blake says:

McGehee, interesting idea. President Obama probably has ancestors that were slavers and slave owners.

    Post-racial my left butt cheek.

  21. Danger says:

I had a black roommate in College. Some of my best friends are black and even though I know I should ignore the race-bating of the current thugs in charge sometimes I just get tired of being thumped in the chest.
