Little Nikita

National Journal:

Sen. Lamar Alexander will vote to ratify the New START treaty, a Senate aide said, an annoucement that indicates the White House has or is close to locking down the nine GOP votes needed for ratification.

So much for staying strong.

With China expanding its military, we are being pushed into an ego gratification move for the President that is being driven more by his first political term papers than it is by any inkling of necessity.

I mean, seriously: the whole “no nukes” thing?

How early Reagan.

And people wonder why I’m feeling Grinchy.

Lamar Alexander campaigned for Christine O’Donnell.

He’s a very very confuzzled little man I think.

  3. AJB says:

    Hmmmm.

Anything yet about the GOP fighting tooth and nail to block the 9/11 first responders health bill from getting through? No? I guess it’s too hard to defend, even for you.

That’s austerity folks. Making the “tough decision” to gut aid to people who really need it so that Our Galtian Overlords can shit in gold-plated toilets. How OUTLAWish to beat down terminally ill firefighters.

Does everyone remember how excited some were about Mike Castle being elected? He’s voting for this piece of shit. Why the heck are these jackasses still fighting the cold war? Why are they still worried about Russia, when the potential threats are coming from other places like China?

This is a bad deal for us. We hold the edge in anti-missile defense, and we need to continue. The only way we will ever stay reasonably safe is to stay ahead of everyone else on the weapons technology curve.

It sucks to have a president who thinks the U.S. is part of the problem.

AJB wants to be the senior editor of this site. You’re not writing about the important stuff, apparently.

Congress has funded numerous programs to provide care and compensation to 9/11 victims, spending several billion dollars on extraordinary and unprecedented efforts. Congress will continue to support these individuals. However, current program administrators have failed to account for much of the previously allocated money…

One of the most significant concerns about this bill is its continued reliance on the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health to administer 9/11 health programs. NIOSH has sent $475 million in grants to New York to pay for health care benefits. Yet to this day, NIOSH, the city of New York and the various health care providers who received grants have failed to tell Congress where that money has gone. For example, Mount Sinai Medical Center has received about $137 million from NIOSH since 2004. Until they can show where that money was spent, it is irresponsible to give them more.*

    Hmmm.

Seems the GOP has a different view on things than AJB.

  8. alppuccino says:

HA!!! AJB ends up looking like a fool!!!

What an unexpected by-product of his own stupidity!!

My only hope is that it will happen again some time.

    How early Reagan.

What’dya expect from a guy who thinks middle Gorbachev won the Cold War?

  10. Jim in KC says:

“Dude, when I’m President, I’m going to do something about all those nukes!”

    This disgusts me.

I’ve written about this several times at Dan’s place ( http://tiny.cc/startO ), and can add nothing more to what I’ve already said save for asking everyone to call their Senators and tell them to just say no.

Both Tennessee Senators caved; first Alexander then tagalong junior Bob Corker. I spoke at length with one of Alexander’s Washington D.C. phone bank staffers; bottom line that we both agreed to is that this item should have been put over into the next session because there’s an appearance of impropriety in speedily passing a treaty who’s sole purpose is to make Obama’s ‘Nobel Peace Prize’ seem somewhat valid.

    And look who agrees, amazingly

“When it’s all going to be said and done, Harry Reid has eaten our lunch. This has been a capitulation in two weeks of dramatic proportions of policies that wouldn’t have passed in the new Congress.”

    — Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), in an interview on Fox News radio, blasting fellow Republicans for caving to Democrats in the lame duck session.

Mr. Allah has a list of the obamawhore cocksuckers who voted for this start bullshit so bumblefuck’s phony peace prize is as polished as his cock when Voinovich finishes on it.

Alexander, Bennett, Brown, Cochran, Collins, Corker, Isakson, Lugar, Murkowski, Snowe, and Voinovich

Isakson is that whorebait what’s all about redistributing money from for reals taxpayers to losers for so they can buy a house.

The really frightening thing is that China is not on a crazy spending spree for weapons systems. They will match regional powers within ten years. They could easily bridge the technology gap with Europe’s help, and the nations of Europe need help.
Will we have to shoot down European satellites in the near future? I wonder how that will work out?
