"How Regulations Accumulate as a Small Business Grows"

And you thought government and bureaucracies were poor economic stewards because they were inefficient, overly-regulatory, and moved at a glacial pace.

Racists.

Oh, wait —

Wow. That is incredible. Large businesses must really like those regulations, because when you tier them like that, you create a barrier to further hiring at every step of the tier.

No wonder my former employer sent me all those weird notices. I was his first actual employee, as opposed to contractors. I’m surprised he survived as long as he did. He should have kept me as a 1099 guy.

    Great comment at the link:

    Nudge?

The illustrious Cass Sunstein wrote a book by that title.
I don’t want those sorry sumbitches “nudging” anything.

No shit, they’ve done quite enough “nudging”, thankyouverymuch.

today’s secret phrase is “capital flight” don’t tell anyone

  5. newrouter says:

did capital buy their tickets on orbitz

  6. JHo says:

Kinda blows the whole notion of evil free market capitalism all to hell, doesn’t it? Giving the left a point.

That only requires a bald-faced lie to perpetuate: It’s got not a damn thing to do with free, markets, or capitalism.

  7. ak4mc says:

If capital is willing to brave the long security lines and the full-body scanner, I say let it fly.

    Me, I’m taking the bus.

  8. Jobs says:

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m following capital.

  9. Is there room on that flight, Jobs?

  10. hookers and crack dealers says:

    When should we move in?

  11. SDN says:

You’re already at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue….

  12. Canned Spinach says:

Capital, disguised as debt, overpowered a Pan Am flight crew today while they were over the Pacific Ocean and forced the crew to fly them to the noted free-market haven, Hong Kong, RoC.

As one hijacker referred to only as “Mr. U.S. Grant” put it. “We jes’ doin’ it for the Benjamins, baby!”

  13. happyfeet says:

Citigroup Inc. is exiting the private student loan business, as the government changes the playing field by making Uncle Sam the primary lender to students.*

    HopenChange bites.

  15. newrouter says:

making Uncle Sam the primary lender to students slaves

Mort Kondrake just got b-slapped by some woman on the FauxNewz panel after he said that anyone who wants to abolish the Dept of Education is a wacko.

  17. sdferr says:

Mortie is a long-time douchebag, and KT, praise Jesus, isn’t.

  18. Jeffersonian says:

Anyone who wants to do anything with the DoEd besides firing everyone there and dynamiting the building is a wacko.

  19. Big Bang Hunter says:

    – And you thought….We didn’t have to “think” anything. There is not a single instance of efficient, bang for your buck government you can site in the last 200+ years that didn’t involve shutting some department or service or other down and defunding it. Period.

  20. LTC John says:

#20 – Maybe the Manhattan Project? But that was literal bang for buck(s). I still wonder what the heck the DoE is for…other than to provide lots of GS slots for the correct folks.

  21. Ric Locke says:

LTC John — the Manhattan Project wasn’t a “government program”. It was a plantation, with Groves as the overseer.

    Regards,
    Ric

  22. Rupe says:

The Manhatten Project could not be done today. The Apollo Project could not be done today, not with three white males in the capsule.
Ric Locke is frighteningly right, and you you hear it increasingly in the MSM; ie, “if only we had one person to control everything, like in China, then good things could be done much faster. — Yikes —–

  23. LTC John says:

#22 – Ric, Ah, I see – more of a “you boys whip us up something useful and weapon like, ya hear?” And then gave them whatever they needed. And you still don’t want to wave a Geiger counter around the U of Chicago football stadium to this day…

  24. LTC John says:

#23 – So when Paul Krugman sleeps, does he dream of Mao sheep?

  25. bh says:

And you still don’t want to wave a Geiger counter around the U of Chicago football stadium to this day…

That’s exactly right, Colonel. To repeat: we left football to win the war. We’d still be perennial favorites otherwise. Also, not nerds. Library warriors.

  26. Rusty says:

If capital is going somewhere, can we carpool together?
