Yes, it’s just a primary in a small state, but it is quickly turning emblematic, so I may as well wade in — at least cautiously.
To that end, I’m going to post here a comment left on another site (that was itself copied from yet another site). I can’t speak to it’s accuracy; and I can’t even speak to who the original author of the comment was. So take all that into account.
Having said that, both the establishment right and the left are going after Ms O’Donnell with both barrels — and some of what are now merely allegations seem to be taking shape of received wisdom.
Clearly, O’Donnell — inasmuch as she is becoming a symbol of a grass roots movement standing above and against the establishment, promoting loyalty over principle to loyalty over both party and “establishment expertise” — scares not only the left but also the GOP professionals, “pragmatists,” “realists,” and party boosters who have long decided for us who should run, how they should run, and why.
Full disclosure: I have no real opinion about O’Donnell herself; I never met her, never researched her (in more than a cursory way), nor do I live in Delaware. I do, however, hold in high regard some of her most ardent supporters, among them Mark Levin, whose constitutionalist bona fides are, to my way of thinking, impregnable.
I also trust that the people of Delaware charged with making the choice for representative in the GOP primary did what they thought was best, and selected the candidate they thought best represented their interests. Which is precisely how it is supposed to work — the advanced calculus of national party pollsters and handlers and GOP insiders notwithstanding. Is the selection idealistic? Certainly. But idealism has been given short shrift on the right of late, and as I argued back a ways during the Limbaugh dustup, it is pragmatic to foreground classical liberal / conservative ideals and principles as a way to distinguish our candidates from those representing the cynicism of politics as usual.
To that end, I offer this for your perusal:
1. Re: ISI. She worked for a religious organization and was demoted not because of her job performance but because the supervisors in this ultra religious organization misinterpret their Bible’s and the book of Ephesians where it says that women should submit to men. And she was demoted to have a MAN put in charge of her. The demotion was illegal and she was completely right to call them out on it. She dismissed the lawsuit about 3yrs ago, NOT because it didn’t have merit but she was prepping to run against Biden and didn’t have the time/finances to pursue it. Bottom line was, she was wronged. She had every right to sue them and ISI is lucky that she decided it was not in her best interest to seek a judgment against them.
2. Re: her college career. She DID graduate from Farleigh Dickinson University. She took the courses and walked at graduation. She did not receive the OFFICIAL diploma due to outstanding tuition. It took nearly a decade for her to pay off her college loans and by that time, they made her retake a class to update her degree. (The same thing happened to me. It is very common now a days for colleges to say certain credits have expired, even though technically you got the degree and have worked in the field for years). Unlike others in this country who defaulted on their student loans–she DID pay them herself.
3. As to pursuing a Master’s at Princeton. You are referring to a quote from her deposition in the original ISI lawsuit. She WAS looking into pursuing her masters degree and the question from the legal council was regarding her current work/education. That was her plans after the demotion, then subsequent firing when she brought forth the lawsuit. She did not, however, go forward with it.
4. Re: her home foreclosure. That is a GROSS lie. She SOLD the house in question to help pay for her 08 campaign. She received a letter with a lien against the house more than a year later when it was owned by someone else. It was verified as a computer error and Christine put the letter on her website weeks ago to counter that misrepresentation. As to the IRS, Christine, her family and at least one of her campaign staffers from her 08 bid were audited by the IRS after she ran against Biden. Let’s talk about the statistical improbability for all of those people to be suddenly audited if it hadn’t been that they were all involved in trying to defeat Biden. The IRS found through the audit that she should have owed more in 2004 (?–might have been 05) and I have heard from MANY people that if the IRS audits you, they will ALWAYS find something/somewhere where you should have paid them more. She paid that judgment and posted the IRS clearance letter on her site.
5. Re: the Tea party paying her rent. Again you are distorting facts. Please take the libtard cotton out of your ears and listen up. Christine is NOT rich. She is a single, every day working woman who sold her house in the last campaign and has used every penny she could muster to fight in Delaware politics. She now lives in a small townhouse and because she couldn’t afford an official campaign headquarters–it was run out of rooms from her house. Because of staffers taking up half her living residence, it was determined she could use part of the tea party money as “rent” to her for space in her home for the headquarters. MANY people across this country use part of their house as a business office. (I work as a cardiac consultant from my home and I write off my home office space on my taxes) It is perfectly legal and was the best use of campaign dollars as opposed to her paying a fortune to rent space (which as the campaign has now grown, she will have to do)
Again, this is all unattributed, so I’m making no claims about its veracity.
I will say, however, that the explanations appear at least plausible on their face. And as such, I offer them to you as a way to arm yourself against the allegations that are already being used by professional politicos in an attempt to hamstring she who doesn’t seem to know her place.
(thanks to geoff)
Go away, stalker.
From the link:The “social conservatives are a drag on the GOP, they must be dumped” line has been around for about as long as I can remember…Since the TEA party movement is primarily anti-tax and anti-Big Government, and the Establishment GOP loathes them, too, perhaps the GOP should dump conservatives altogether, so peace and quiet can return to Washington and the congressional GOP can return to being obsequious yes-men to their Democrat betters…
o_o
fuck.
Since the TEA party movement is primarily anti-tax and anti-Big Government, and the Establishment GOP loathes them, too, perhaps the GOP should dump conservatives altogether, so peace and quiet can return to Washington and the congressional GOP can return to being obsequious yes-men to their Democrat betters…
o_o
I don’t know much about her either, but I agree that this explanation seems plausible, and can easily be checked by anyone who cares to do so. The fact that “our GOP betters” are being at best ungracious about her primary win is the larger story to me. They need to straighten up and remember what they are supposed to stand for.
Overall, unless someone definitely proves that she has serious skeletons, I will support her in spirit, and hope she wins the November election.
I take full ownership of my previous comment, as me, not as a sockpuppet.
If only I had shown an affinity for Levin prior to his tiff with Patterico.
Chris Coons can put his feet up.
Except, of course, that it’s becoming apparent that his reaction is “Oh, s*t, I might get elected and have to give up my soft featherbed.” Too bad, Chris. You shoulda knowed it was dangerous out there.

Ric

John Cornhole owes this hoochie some money big-time for how he betrayed her on election night. He needs to get off his faggot ass and figure out how he can put together some media buys for her and gotv support and whatever else she needs to compete.
He knows the ways already hf, he just doesn’t want to use them.
It might be nice if neighboring State Gov. Chris Christie crossed the border to do a little campaigning though, wouldn’t it? How’s about the Pa. R Sen. candidate Toomey helping out too?
Chris Christis is so not who people thinks he is… it’s very sad. Toomey is the future I think.
It’s interesting to contrast the race in Delaware where it’s quite quite the accepted wisdom that scarce resources needs must be judiciously measured with the ho-hum Team R reaction to Meg Whitman’s obscene flaunting of her wealth in California.
Seeing what he did to Schundler, plus the splungey moment on the GZ Mosque, has made it clear, he has his place though. O’Donnell toppled the Delaware machine, every member of the establishment
was on Castle’s side, but the people,
link
What happened to the left side frame? Twice as wide suddenly for me at least.
Now it’s back to normal just as I said the above.
If that were the case, I can’t help but wonder why they gave her the Director of Communications gig in the first place.
Rusty’s been trying out a new name thinger without spaces in it geoffb
So, happyfeet, is Christie now persona-non-grata too? Just askin’…
I think that, in Delaware at least, O’Donnell will benefit more by money than appearances by established politicians; especially by DeMint or Palin-they would be the kiss of death amongst the greater Delaware electorate.
Delaware is deep-blue, perhaps moreso than Pennsylvania or New Jersey. They have benefitted for years by guys like Castle and Biden bringin’ home the bacon, whether it been highway dollars, protection from military base closure, seashore funds, etc. It would be foolish to think that association with the national party could do anything but hurt her, which is why the way things develop may work to her advantage.
Just like here in NY with the Governor’s race, while an overwhelming majority of Republican voters chose the candidate, that represents a minority of all state voters. And also, in both states, there are myriad social pressures that influence low-information voter to go Democrat by default, and inherently eschew anyone professing to be a Rethug!
Which is all why the power of their arguments will have to win the day more than endorsements.
no Mr. Reed Chris Christie is welcome to park his ass in Trenton as long as he wants but the idea that he needs to play a national role for Team R is increasingly risible as he lies lies lies to elect cap n trade whores like Castle and can’t find the courage to oppose victory mosques or the grace to support O’Donnell. He’s just another go along get along establishment water-carrying politician at heart I think.
That just won’t suffice in the White House anymore than the flaccid Romney or the unaccomplished Palin or the uber pragmatic when he’s not being smarmy Pawlenty would suffice.
This Byron York thing goes here.
So now even the slightly imperfect is the enemy of the good? Here from the real world I call zero zip nada on the alleged apparent complaints themselves. The party propagandists need to get them some new gossip writers if that’s all they got – that and grow up. Hey, maybe she even writes notes on her hand like you know who, but can field dress
Obamaa Moose? He has his role, and if he wants to run, well more power to him, the unaccomplished one, as you say
toppled an institution, in Murkowski, and then the leading Dem kingmaker, Knowles, pushed the pipeline farther than anyone else in 30 years.
I saw where they let Michael Steele out of the attic to say a few tepid words on Christine’s behalf. I think that was yesterday.
No Mr. Peden the slightly imperfect is not the enemy of the good but this promiscuous fancying of any and every whore with an R on their chest as being quite possibly presidential is getting beyond ridiculous.
Well, I personally think you’re selling him a bit short there happyfeet.
He may have done the party a favor by endorsing Castle-they might have asked him too. And as far as the mosque goes, why should he bother to weigh in on either side of something outside of NJ?
In the vein of the 3 legged stool that bh and geoffb made in another thread, I’d have to hear him out and take the measure of his complete position before completely writing him off.
But, YMMV.
I blame Obama, mostly, but I think there’s a healthy streak of if that hoochie from Alaska can be thought presidential, why the hell not anybody else.
I don’t think we know yet enough about Christie to contemplate elevating him to our little White House is the long and short of it Mr. Reed.
He’s getting ahead of himself.
at least the lady from ak likes her country so there’s that
yes that’s definitely a serendipitous bonus in a presidential candidate days are Mr. newrouter but I think what we’re talking around in this thread is accountability. For example, why shouldn’t the unctuous Mr. Christie be held accountable for his attempt to elect the too-cowardly-to-debate cap n trade whore Castle?
She does more than like it newrouter, she loves it, honest. Which may be all the more reason she might make the sensible decision not to run for its highest office, unlike the country hater Obama.
It might be a good idea to see if Christie can see the job through of fixing New Jersey’s horrible spending problems before considering him for a bigger gig. He’s done good so far, but he’s not done yet.
happyfeet,
I don’t think Christie’s planning on running for POTUS; at least that’s what he says.
And, Reagan backed a few RINOs in his day, McCain and D’Amato most prominently; should he be faulted for that?
Either way, associations definitely are part of what shapes indivduals opinions about candidates that lack long public track records; at least until the MFM told us we were a bunch of unfair racists for judging Obama by his…
hf, you’re just pathologically jealous. But I will also apologize for any provocation I didn’t intend.
‘feets, let’s put it this way: the whole team can’t be halfbacks “pumping” in triumph as they cross the goal line. They also serve who only carry the ball a couple of yards, or don’t carry it at all, just block the other guys, and even the water boy has a role to play.
That doesn’t mean ignore the ones who move in the wrong direction, whether inadvertently or out of malice; it does mean that, if you want to win the game, you need to compliment and encourage the guards and centers when they do well, and restrain yourself from shooting them when the quarterback gets sacked.
There’s no need to slap Christie down for excessive ambition. He’s moving in the direction we’d like to go, and if it’s only three yards per play, well, a down is only ten and you get four chances — if you can do that every time, you’ll win more often than not. Congratulate him for what he’s doing, rather than tearing him down for what he’s not. He might make a lousy quarterback, but he’s doing a fine job at tight end when he gets the ball, OK?
Regards,
Ric
Turns out the good imams offices, are in my former neck of the woods, so Christie has been a little more than negligent in his scrutiny there. But you’re right, Jason and the Argonauts had a lesser time of it, in Colchis, then what he is currently facing
Sage words Ric.
Mr. Ric I think that’s all well and good but His Corpulence has yet to lift a finger for the Team R Senatorial candidate he campaigned against. I think it’s fair to kick around ideas of what that might say about him and his sense of what it is to be a team player.
*senatorial*
what else I wonder is I wonder to what extent was Christie’s absurdly ardent embrace of Castle done in reaction to how Sarah Palin has thus far owned the endorsement game this cycle and used it as a very effective vehicle for self-promotion. Was Christie just thinking hey I want a piece of that action?
I think that’s a fair question.
In my world, any slight imperfection is grounds for condemnation.
It’s a fair, but cynical question happyfeet.
I have no evidence, but suspect that Team R was motivated to ask him to endorse their candidate, Castle, whatever the reason for their preference, by the same kind of thinking that sdferr was on to in #10.
I don’t think he fancied himself a kingmaker, not sought any self-serving, or promoting, gain by the endorsement.
He was just doin’ a solid for team R.
He believes in cap n trade, feets, he thinks it’s a partial solution to NY’s woes, I now that sounds crazy, that vote plus the DISCLOSE act was what probably turned the tide in Sarah choosing
Christine. Scott Brown also thinks moderates are an endangered species, about as much as the polar bear
Comrade Coons would lose by ten points to a 12 pack of canned spinach.
I really should have run. That old college VHS of me and that jar of under-age carrots would be nothing this year.
Were the carrots alive or dead? If they were alive, you would be okay.
I really should have run. That old college VHS of me and that jar of under-age carrots would be nothing this year.
What about the one with me drizzled all over your leafy greens, hmmm?
I would not even have to try.
Holy crap, Raspberry? Is that really you?
You know, I can still do the Popeye thing.
You don’t even want to know what’s been going on over here.
another sore loser
Lisa Murkowski to Run Write-in Campaign
Chris Christie is on his way to Alaska right now. Hang in there Lisa!
David Frum may be right* on this one:
* well not exactly “right” but perhaps correct on this point.
OK, are you just being funny happyfeet?
Yeah I just made that up
thanks frumpy for the nuts/sluts smear
Frum is, well, Frum. I think it’s equally as plausible that Castle had a wink-nod deal with the Dems to be a placeholder for Beau Biden for the next four years, until there was a more amenable environment for him to run; say, one where his gaffe-a-minute idiot Dad wasn’t VP anymore, causing Delaware folks a facepalm or two a day.
That’s how a schlub like Coons got put up. Not too, too competent. Just enough to be a fall-guy with plausible deniability. Heck, Castle and Joey B probably belong to the same country club!
I think there was skull-duggery in abundance. Then again, maybe I should take off the tin-foil hat.
I thought so happyfeet, I just wanted to make sure. The primaries are over, it’s time to get behind the voters choices and defeat the Obami.
Just like the RNC, Castle needs to get behind O’Donnell, and Lisa needs to put aside any write-in dreams. They don’t need to take everyone down with them just because the vioters decided that they weren’t authentic.
Heh
Shenanigans. And bullshit Dr. K, you know better than that. Cut the crap and quit your lying.
sdferr,
Do you think the Kraut is lying about the 51st seat, or wanting be proved wrong about O’Donnell’s electability?
I hate to think he’s just “drifting along with the burbling Boehnerfags”, as happyfeet might put it.
I generally find a lot of merit in what he writes and says.
wanting be proved wrong
when team r plays football they only use 9 players
link
Dr. Krauthammer makes me all the more eager to do all I can for Carly Fiorina for so we can add another establishment Team R cunt to John Cornyn’s little club.
Although I’ll stand by my opinion that him joining the call for DeMint and Palin to go run her campaign is a bad idea at best, and disingenuous in the worst case.
brb after my shift at the phone bank
So do I find Bob, which is why I won’t accept his handwaving horseshit. He looks to me to have a vested interest in her loss, at this point. He knows damned well that none of the efforts he has made since the inception of the controversy over O’Donnell will do anything but work to her detriment. Knows damned well. Which is why he’s at it again today with a column, and will be again tomorrow with pronouncements on the tube. He won’t go to Delaware to help her win, will he?
doc k and karl the rover are stuck in time @ about 2006
I see sdferr,
But shouldn’t a happy circumstance, like a conservative replacing a RINO, eclipse any personal injury on his part by being proved wrong?
I would hope he would shrug it off as both bad judgement on his part and a tectonic shift in the strategic political paradigm.
From what I’ve seen, most of her supporters want to be able to just write “Lisa” and have their votes count.
When the elections chief (a.k.a. lite-gunor) said that won’t work, you shoulda heard the grumbling and demands to burn him at the stake.
He should go to Delaware and help her sdferr, at least I truly believe that. He does have the ability to influence the thinking of many independants.
The whole “long knives” thing needs to end. I really hope that he ceases his public criticism of her candidacy.
“…shouldn’t a happy circumstance…”
I don’t say what I believe motivates him precisely because I do not know what motivates him. Only that it is plain to me that he is so motivated. Hence I cannot know what will constitute a happy circumstance for his purposes, and therefore cannot know whether her electing and the presumptive 52st seat with it will satisfy his aim.
The fabulous T. Coddington Van Voorhees VII has weighed in on the unwashed rabble daring to rise about their station. Among other things, there’s the following:
“But Delaware? With its long record of electing deep, gravitas-laden men such as Joe Biden (who, despite suffering over 1500 sun strokes, cerebral infarctions, and hematomae over the last 10 years, retains a reputation as one of Washington’s brightest minds)”
http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2010/09/fight.html
51st seat that should read there of course. Though 52nd would be all the nicer.
Shock troops ladies and gents. With polite golf applause from the NYTimes.
don’t the illiterate union whores have the same “unlimited” ability to spend as the corporations?
They do, but as Mr fg learned us today in spite of ourselves “… you and most others equate money with winning elections” and that’s just wrong says Mr fg. So we must take heart. Addin’ in this too, I guess:
…corporations’ ability to spend unlimited amounts thanks to a Supreme Court ruling.
Actually, the ability flows from my freedom of association, with which I band together with like-minded people, and my freedom of speech, which I use to make my political concerns known. Whether my association is called a corporation or a union, it doesn’t change the fact that my political speech doesn’t come from a Supreme Court ruling; the Supreme Court merely affirmed that I’ve had my rights all along.
Those NYT bastards sure do get upset when a corporation that isn’t the NYT starts saying shit in public.
Shock troops…But, you know, that’s a good thing since they’re pursing such a noble progressive end…
As opposed to tea partiers, which would surely have had the moniker, “strom troops”, hung on them instead. A terminology distinction that carries a certain nuance among those low information types that don’t realize there is no real distinction between the two.
Dollar signs.
Lisa Murkowski to Run Write-in Campaign
From what I’ve seen, most of her supporters want to be able to just write “Lisa” and have their votes count.
I heard she was looking into changing her last name to Palin.
Not Simpson? Shocking.
Regardless of the rank and file union members votes, the leadership still gets to give the Democrats their dues money in donations-whether the members like it or not.
Oh and lets not forget all of the money that went into getting Democrats elected, instead of into the pension funds where it should have gone; banking on getting the Democrats to saddle the government with the obligation instead.
Of course, the union bosses pensions are fully funded…
Wouldn’t that be malfeasance in the real world?
that weekly standard whore with the big titties says that “declaring the entire GOP establishment sexist just because it didn’t get behind one female candidate bolsters the left’s carefully crafted and effective caricature of the right as a place that doesn’t welcome women.”*
just in case you were wondering
i like her hams
“…questions about O’Donnell…”
I think that’s a fragment of what I heard in that “Thanks, Harry” line. Questions. Or possibly in MK’s world, appropriate questions.
That was Jeri Thompson who said that, hf, not Mary Katherine.
Oops. Never mind.
Don’t think so cranky-d, looks to be in the body of the text.
I was confused because I didn’t think MKH has bit titties.
bit -> big
I know Jeri does, though.
Bobby Orr.
if she works at the Weekly Standard dollars to doughnuts says she has a nice rack
happyfeet, you leave Jeri Thompson alone.
You are just mad that she supported McCain/Palin. Get over it. We have 2010 and 2012 to worry about and Mac Daddy McCain aint running for anything anymore (well Senate I suppose but he just has to stay alive till November).
Rumor has it Patterico is dusting it up with Mark Levin.
big don’t necessarily equal nice in my world, so chances are sorta more, yeah.
I though her post had, in one sense, a “pot calling a kettle black” flavor, and was trying to make the “can’t we just all get along” case.
Also, for the record, although I like her, I don’t fond her all that, er, pnuematic. For what that’s worth.
I agree with her though in that each individual needs to be assessed as they come, and not painted as RINOS or whatever based upon an outlying endorsement or act, but should be viewed through the grater prism of the sum of their history.
Does that make me some kind of squish?
Yes, Bob, you’re a squish, and you should be ashamed. Ashamed!
I’ve seen MKH on teevee, and I agree with Bob’s assessment on her pneumaticness. However, I’m not really fixated on teh boobies, though I will look, of course.
I am cranky, I guess y’all should just start calling me Mitt or Mav or something like that…
“..was trying to make the “can’t we just all get along” case.”
To which the usual response is: don’t start nothin’, won’t be nothin’.
I really need to get a life.
Remember what Seinfeld said about chesticles; “Cleavage is like the sun, you don’t stare directly at it; you only get a sense(glimpse?) of it and quickly look away!”
Good point sdferr.
Like, not like this:
Croquet? Oh, Lord. I can see it being fun to do while drinking beer, but calling this the “purest intercollegiate athletic event in America” is just sad.
sdferr,
I’m familiar with both institutions, but am missing how that paragraph fits into the, “don’t start none, and there won’t be none”, category.
I must not be hitting on all cylinders today…
I do have to give the Middies the credit though Bob, they do keep showing up for their annual asskicking. heh
Maybe sdferr meant the “spirited rivalry” thing. If you don’t start one, there won’t be one.
St. John’s player seem to have more of a grounding in croquet than the midshipmen.
Did you take part in the matches when you were there sdferr?
Think of 103 as one of Jeff’s performative speech acts and I think you’ll be on to it.
You have the advantage of being here longer than I sdferr, or maybe it’s the cylinders not hitting for me today thing.
They didn’t exist when I was there Bob. Our sport was following Middies taking their dates home early (curfew, y’know) and asking the girls if they wanted to go back into town.
“You have the advantage of being here longer than I sdferr, or maybe it’s the cylinders not hitting for me today thing.”
You’re just too amiable to join in the “start som-pin’, make som-pin'” gag Bob. Or is it an effect of bein’ in the Navy?
OK gang, my nephew, neice, and their kids will be here soon, so I gotta put the final touches on some gumbo I’ve been making since last night.
It’s not too hot (spicy), but even at the reduced levels I had to warn my wife and mother-in-law that it might kill them.
Stomach issues you see.
I’ll check you all later.
now if it were a crochet match that would be gangbusters
hah I remember we brought out croquet set when we moved to Texas when I was little… the neighbors got a kick out of that and then I don;t know what happened to the croquet set but at some point you just didn’t see it around anywhere
moved back to Texas I should say
Oh trust me sdferr, In the Navy-especially among the aviators-startin’ sumpin’ was an art form unto itself. Not only did one have to be able to suffer the wardroom ribbing and jocularity with good humor, but were expected to riposte with simultaneously witty and cutting replies.
It’s why I can invariably state truly to those who are attempting to be insulting, that I have been called worse by better!
I’m really not hitting on all cylinders today. I guess after dinner I’ll have to break out the tawny port and, ahem, clean the spark plugs…
Best wishes to all!
A gaming site: perfect.
sdferr, where is the link on Doug Hoffman threatening a third party run in NY. Because he deserves a good asswhoopin if he does that after a legitmate primary loss.
It’s up at 38 Joe, or at the Corner if you’d rather.
I heard that the St. John’s team was dominant because they’re so much more comfortable handling other men’s balls.
Huh. So I guess this is what elections look like when there are more than just two divisions of the same company trading the flag back and forth every couple of years.
The caterwauling your hear is the political class suddenly suffering the same paycheck anxiety that the rest of us have been feeling since Comrade Obama really got rolling.
Welcome to the party, Karl!
That’s no doubt the secret to it bh, what with half the Johnnies female and the other half faigelahs.
I guess that the final totals of the primary elections aren’t good enough for some people, i.e Rove, NRSC, Krauthammer, et.al. And the numerated points had nothing to do as to why the voters, as small a sampling as it was, decided that O’Donnell was the candidate of their choice.
There is wide dissemination of Rove’s POV’s, and much weight attributed to those who think that O’Donnell is a sure loser. And I’m reading this on supposedly conservative blogs. The people who are trying to destroy Ms. O’Donnell are the losers, even if she does not win. They are the ones that contribute to Coon’s supposed victory, and if they even start to call themselves conservatives again they will be exposed for the weak-assed weenies that they are.
I don’t think “the weak-assed weenies” of party what is poised to re-elect Meghan’s coward daddy in putatively staunch Arizona of all places are really in all that much jeopardy
of *a* party what is poised I mean
I’m gonna make some fair-trade coffee
What will happen when O’Donnell win in Delaware?
I am beginning to suspect that there are no “blue” states in America, only states where (in the best traditions of the left) the ruling class has cowed the relatively conservative electorate into thinking they don’t have a chance, or a choice.
As to the question of what happens when O’Donnell wins: Is it possible for an estabishment Republican’s head to actually pop, or is that just a figure of speech?
Hey it’s after midnight here. I didn’t catch your drift so I have an excuse, I guess. I’m going to pour another non caffienated alcoholic beverage. And toast to all the weak-assed weenies that live in Washington, D.C.
win = wins.
I am, after all, but a lowly can of Del Monte spinach.
Okay, a 12 pack, but my intellect does not increase exponentially based on unit count. You may as well consider all of my cans as a single entity for IQ assessment purposes.
sdferr, the link is to the corner, but not to the specific entry. It took a while to find. I hope Hoffman does not do that.
I’ll bet Meghan’s coward daddy don’t eat cupcakes with fair-trade coffee.
Meghan’s coward daddy is spending his days exterminating fags from the military he doesn’t have time for tasty fair-trade coffee
but here this is related news but more interesting…
Is this where I get to say I told you so? Cause I sure could you know.
I think you can mark this as the Tea Party’s high water mark unless they can disassociate themselves from this McCain-fellating skank and quick.
I don’t know Joe, this is where 38 took me just now.
I’m shocked that the MFM would conflate things to their attack advantage. Shocked!
“…after midnight…”
Damn sight further east than the east coast of the US then.
I’m shocked that the MFM would conflate things to their attack advantage. Shocked!
He’s making fair-trade coffee and checking the mirror to see if his ass looks big. Hush.
oh my i’m scared. the tin eared are devising pr.
Mr. newrouter … there’s lots and lots of people what support the Tea Party but think Sarah Palin is a fucking joke. If the Tea Party is reduced to being perceived as Sarah Palin’s auxiliary then it becomes something quite different than it started out as I think.
ok but last week it was minority man boner for boogie person and now its the rino hunter. sorry the alinsky idiots only have hammers.
I love cupcakes but think the red velvet ones are a fucking joke so I’m a grab me an everlasting gobstopper.
Mr. Froman you’re wrong about the red velvet cupcakes and I will tell you why… number one they are very very tasty and number two they are both red and also velvety but that is not the point. The point is if you tried to package the tasty red velvet cupcakes with a dirty dirty whore, you would soon find that you were hitting a very different demographic than you were by packaging each separately.
But what if the moon breaks in half and falls into the Pacific Ocean?
That’s what I’m worried about.
why not the Atlantic Ocean jeez you’re just trying to fuck with me
O’Donnell: “They Call Us Whacky And Wingnuts, We Call Us We The People”
Can anyone tell me Mr. Coons position on a single issue?
Are we to believe that the liberal media/DC Establishment attacking someone is not a resume enhancer in 2010?
We are talking about the same media that told America that Barack was a ‘lightworker’, right? Okay, to be fair, he did turn out to be a “light worker”, so they can say they were kind of right.
O’Donnell by 6 points in a race where the dead vote too.
Lot’s of people here seem to be worried or want to slam Ms. Palin. That’s funny because she’s not running on any ballot. Some here are getting way ahead of themselves. I love the prognosticators with their Ouija boards. They and Karl are actually projecting stuff they do not have the first clue about. They actually sound like groupies backstage at MSNBC or CNN.
Palin vs Obama. 2012. Cast your vote HF.
in 4 years raised property taxes 3 times after inheriting a surplus. so he’s ready to go in dc.
“Can anyone tell me Mr. Coons position on a single issue?”
Just guessing, but 1) Mao, yes or no? A: Yes , 2) Che, up or down? A; Oh, definitely up, up, up. , 3) Break a few eggs to make a revolutionary omelet? A: Break eggs? What, are you fucking kidding? You’ve got to break heads for cryin’ out loud.

“in 4 years raised property taxes 3 times after inheriting a surplus. so he’s ready to go in dc”
He may be salivating at the thought of tapping the rich vein of unearned wealth that flows through DC, but I don’t think that with that sort of record, Mr. Coons should pack just yet.
A.B. Stoddard: Tea Party’s already won
And on it goes.
Just glad it’s not me this time.
Ah, A.B. just slightly more clued in than Noonan, no ‘the revolution will be televised’ and she still might figure it out
Who is this Patter person? Is he a relative of the guy on Futurama?
I wonder if he’s ever tried to pick a fight with me. I don’t actually want to know, I just wonder.
yea rover, dr k., pl, frey, weakly std, et al are falling fast in the intelligence source for the classical liberal in this time. power boyz don’t do it no more.
heh
Also:
The more I observe some people, the more I feel they become locked into these negative loops simply because they can’t bring themselves to feel YMMV or IMHO even if they can say it. And they don’t realize that conceding simple errors is less problematic than rather than more so. Haven’t they ever been pounded on by wickedly intelligent instructors when they were younger?
Gotta say, it doesn’t appear to be a pleasant condition to live with.
less problematic
thanratherThey didn’t call ’em Don Rags for nothing bh.
Terribly phrased comment on the whole.
Sorter bh: a reasonable humility is essentially pragmatic.
i think that woman from ak is like patton in n. africa w/rommel: “i read your book”
That’s exactly right, sdferr. Let alone the occasional comments in the margin.
As you saved time by not reading the relevant material, why did you then decide to waste it by writing this?
There are too, other generous forms of same bh, such as Bob mentions upthread. Proper walings come in a bunch of useful shapes.
Is Senor morley still holding forth trying to prove how stupid he is?
here this is kinda hot and also kinda dirgey and also kinda silly but I think I like it
Link your favorite punk song, ‘feets.
Go!
Protein synthesis or How the 70’s went to waste. (skip in to 3:20 for the fun)
Here is a cover song from men in red jackets.
here and here and these ones ok I don’t have any for real punk songs I really listen to except for like buzzcocks songs and whatever that I know from commercials
I see your masturbation hangups and raise you… lesbian girl scouts and their dykey little cookies
This is favorite Buzzcock song and this is a song you can memorize because it’s very fitting for most occasions and everyone will think you’re alienated and stuff.
link
You can even sort of taste it in the cookies.
Plaidy with a subtle hint of Indigo Girls.
O’Donnell has induced quite the stack overflow at some excitable liberal blogs. Maybe they can organize and elect a more suitable public someday.
here for the people is the full theme to the Piper Perabo show… here are the lyrics, also for the people
When you grabbed your keys, said you were gone
couldn’t help myself, I passed the gun
and bombed my friends and family
I did well
It’s just? my choices…

Murkowski to Stay in Alaska Race
loser
Murkowski to Stay in Alaska Race
The Damages theme song taunts the silly Piper with her silly bar top dancing with shots antics.
Showgirls even giggled a little.
Murkowski voted for SCHIP which a lot raised taxes on cigarettes during a recession.
She’s something of a dirty redistributey whore.
I’d use a different five-letter word to describe Princess Lisa, but it would be an example of opprobrium.
We should thank Murkowski and her ilk for doing that, happyfeet. It helped you and I quit smoking.
this is true… it motivated the heck out of me it really did
Rose Byrne is hotter than the tiny Canadian cop and less tiny bird name sounding than the bar top dancer. She also has a delightful accent and you can even pretend her father was David.
it happened right then at the time when I wanted something I could do to not play along with the defilings of our little country I also switched to getting all my alcohol from duty free
the silly Piper with her silly bar top dancing with shots antics.
I took Danger to that bar. Sadly, no Pipers among the whorish cowgirls that night.
Ditto on Rose Byrne, too bad it’s going to Direct TV, although that comparison with Peregym, I have to ponder a minute, The point is SCIP, which Castle also voted for, depends on you smoking in order to fund children’s health care, as one might say, a poser
That is a great funniness, Abe. You’d make a very eccentric tour guide.
kirsten powers has big hams
My cousin has closed his small business,(he was the sausage nazi), because of the ever increasing paperwork involved.
He now has a job working for the government, at one fourth the pay, but five times the benefits. He also doesn’t have to worry about creating any pesky new jobs.
If only we could all work for the government – all benefits and no worries about production.
JD – Purdue over Ball State right? It would help my “Cub” depression, and I assume Obamacare would pay for the trip down there.
kirsten powers has big hams and no brain
Rupe – It depends on whether I get that contract for their new baseball and soccer stadiums next week. If I don’t, I will cheer for anyone that plays them from now until the end of time ;-)
Comment by sdferr on 9/17 @ 3:11 pm #
Croquet? I bet they don’t play like my nieces (one 4 the other two and a half) do. You realize that arming siblings with mallets is just asking to keep daddy, grandpa, and uncle Mike very, very busy? And ‘busy’ in a not good way like drinking beer would be?
Getting hit in the shin with a croquet mallet hurts. Bad. Hitting your brother in the shin with a croquet mallet after he hit you in the shin with a croquet mallet does not hurt.
I’m uncertain Mikey, but suspect the open bar may also have something to do with the Johnnies continuing success on the lawn.
JD – I have the children of my friends at Purdue for the moment (yes, I feel old), but have not seen their athletic departments for quite a time. I know they definitely needed to update several things. I’m hoping some of the 800 billion stimulus dollars got down there. It’s completely inappropriate but at least I can see where my money went.
Murky Murk quits her leadership posts.
“I took Danger to that bar. no Pipers among the whorish cowgirls that night.”
But we did find encouraging evidence of the ownership’s political views so that made the beer taste better;)
This “jeff” person is persistently an imbecile.
#154 – Jeff, is it wrong I smiled, and went back to the fridge and got a beer when reading that?
Open bar, sdferr. That is something that can’t quite occur when the nieces take the field. One has to be on one’s toes and very alert as this genteel game gets dragged down to its basics real fast.
Those who argue that a world run by women would be more peaceful really do not know what the hell they are getting on about. Toss a Disney princess toy into the scrum and watch a hockey game break out – so to speak.
LTC John:
Darn near everything here goes better with beer.
Just sayin’.
As regards RINOs, I think we need a more-restrictive definition plus another acronym. Olympia Snowe is a Republican In Name Only: when her party needs solidarity to oppose some outrage, she votes the other way. Karl Rove is not a RINO. The trouble is, his loyalty lies with the Party organization.
So I propose “Republican As Team Sport”. RATS are loyal to the team, but not to the cause it purports to represent; they’re just as happy with ground game as passing, provided they can get the ball downfield. They’ve made close friends with the other players, and interlopers who challenge their buddies aren’t welcome.
RINOs aren’t giving Ms. O’Donnell trouble. It’s RATS that are savaging her.
Regards,
Ric
Punk, my kind but I am strange, no ain’t about it.
Mikey, agreed – so I am going to go fetch another one! Oh, and I’ll stick to rugby – fewer grudges than croquet…
Rupe – last time I was at a Purdue athletic facilty, it was their rugby pitch in 1990… a dreary, cement colored campus – but be damned if they didn’t turn out some good historians, and engineers.
So what are we drinking tonight outlaws?
I’m getting a virus warning that tells me it recognizes the pattern of the HTML/Cryptogen HTML Script viris when I refresh this site.
Anyone else seeing anything irregular here?
Gotta like Patti, Geoff. Good times.
It’s almost always scotch, Danger. Or berry flavored wine coolers. I’ll never tell.
A nice Porter, 7%
Bh,
Split the difference and drop a strawberry in your scotch. Order it in a bar and start a trend ;)
I grabbed the first beer I spied with my little eye inside of something white.
The beer I spied with my little eye was amber.
Patti grew up one town over from my home in N Jersey, Pitman, a place with a Jehovah’s Witness concentration the likes of which I’ve not seen elsewheres.
I’m back into the mojito.
sdferr,
Mix it up a little with a Dirty Mojito 8^)
#210 LTC John: I will also.
I don’t think it is rugby vis-a-vis croquet so much as who is playing the game. As I said 1+ little girls with 1 Disney princess toy = for teh love of Christ get their mother out here to rattle off the machine-gun Spanish at them ’cause it is going ugly real fast!
They say boys are violent? They must not know any little girls – the cute exterior hides things Dr. Faust would have fled from screaming.
Checking the google Danger, I see one variant that has angostura bitters and turbinado sugar. Is that what you had in mind, or just brown rum over white?
#211: Beast Light ’cause I’m totally cheap.
A common exchange for my brother:
He: “Why is your sister yelling?’
Daughter: “I don’t know.”
This “jeff” person is Willie the racist cat-masturbating skin-flute player.
As for drinks: Shiner Bock.
“I guess y’all should just start calling me Mitt or Mav or something like that…”
Negative Rocketman,
Uncle Sam issued you a callsign and you are just going to have to live with it ;)
Sdferr,
I was thinking of the one with Spicy rum, brown sugar and soda substitutes
The nice thing about scotch is that it’s very easy to make.
bh,
the strawberry drop would make it an artform ;)
yesh, and the mor the mor imprtant its eesy to anodder fixin
“As for drinks: Shiner Bock”
Mike,
Everybody knows that is all that heteronormative Texas imperialists drink ;)
I have to admit, I’m becoming strangely tempted to try that, Danger. I’d have to give it a very manly name though. Like Highland Fireball maybe.
Reckon so! And were I a heteronormative Montanan imperialist, my drink would be Moose Drool. ;)
“What will happen when O’Donnell win in Delaware?”
Has Mr. W laid odds on it yet?
“I’m becoming strangely tempted to try that, Danger.”
Might be your choice of hangouts bh; however, you do realize a manly name will not provide much cover if you hang out here:
http://www.berlinchicago.com/
Note the consideration I gave in not disguising that link. I don’t want to be responsible for Mike spitting up his beer.
Fair warning amigo;)
Good God, Danger! I had to clear my page-browsing history after seeing that! But I did manage to not spit up my beer. ;)
Heh. I plugged that into Google maps and, oddly enough, it’s right next to the train I used to get on every day for a couple years. That must have been where that annoying techno music was coming from.
Sheesh, they just don’t get the journalism business do they?
This would be mine at the moment. And this is the Piper that will one day rule the world.
LTC John – When I was at Purdue they at least slapped some cheap siding over the drab cement. Playing contact sports on concrete with a dab of green carpeting on top is a great injuring experience. I hope they have advanced beyond that by now.
JD – Are you just going to pour some concrete and paint it green? As part of stimulating the economy.
I believe that I like this X band, Pablo. I shall have another drink and consider the matter further.
“But I did manage to not spit up my beer. ;)”
Whew, when I lived in Texas spitting up beer was grounds for deportation Mike;)
Sdferr,
This McKelway fella looks like Fox News material.
A splendid fun thing over at Maggie’s: And now for something completely different
Diet Coke. Sci-fi surf punk. While “don’t ask, don’t tell” is probably the best approach to the question of why Danger knew this Berlin Club, it did remind me of a scene from an extremely underrated 80’s movie. That is all.
The Tea Party isn’t a lifeydoodle club but that will change if people don’t start pushing back against those who would have it be perceived as one.
“why Danger knew this Berlin Club”
My Dangersense is very strong Abe, It knows where even angels fear to tread ;)
Good video clip I’ll have to check out the flick.
Never heard of them before but I like the Man or Astroman as well.
Turns out you guys are best at the punk recommendations. Now I know.
Soccer duties in the morning so G-night all.
O’Donnell is not the Tea Party.
Abortion is not the Tea Party.
There are a few, but not many, who believe the Tea Party will solve all problems. This is in contrast to the Obama people who believe that he can and will solve all problems.
A Tea Party victory would only mean years of very hard work ahead. Most people understand this, at least those who did not go to an Ivy League school.
Before the bearded marxist, Chris Coons’, candidacy even got started, Harry Reid effectively aborted it with his ‘My Pet Coon’ comment. How appropriate, since Harry and his ‘pet’ do believe so dearly in ‘choice’.
That’s one verbal image that is not going to go away by November 2nd. Coons loses by six+ points.
happyfeet, as you’ve proven repeatedly, it doesn’t matter what Tea Party candidates say or do, liars will paint them as the American Taliban. Sarah Palin never took one action to implement her personal views into AK law, but that reality doesn’t penetrate your skull. So why should we waste time trying?
The issue that matters to people right now is simple economics. The social issues are for when you have a job and some time on your hands.
The Tea Party is about rolling back the toxic sludge of Big Government that is choking the life out of the United States economy.
Barack does not have the cloak of invisibility he thinks he has. We all see what he and his ilk are doing and it ticks us off mightily. O’Donnell could be a Goth or a Wiccan as opposed to a Christian and still beat Coons just because she sees the threat too.
And as to Delaware, are there no Democrats that have been put out of work by Barack’s lunatic policies?
I posit that nothing clarifies the mind like missing some car payments. By now the Democrats of DE will have discovered that maybe income redistribution isn’t so awesome since, strangely enough, it never seems to get redistributed to them or anyone they know.
Funny how that works.
Danger even knowing of the existence of that place is mildly disconcerting, and likely a violation of DADT.
There are no ‘safe seats’ in the new paradigm. The bloodbath that is coming for the Democrats will stun even the Libertarians like me who have longed for it.
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/politics/view.bg?articleid=1282303
Get ready for the new paradigm that will consist of Republicans, a sprinkling of TEA Party members, and a precious few remaining shell-shocked Democrats, who will stagger through the halls of power they used to rule looking for something to redistribute.
Barney: Gone
Harry: Gone
Nancy: Gone
I especially enjoy reading the stories of how the Dems are wondering what they will do without Nancy to lead them. The stories are written from the standpoint of her simply being out of the speakership, but the truth is they have seen the polls you don’t get to see.
Nancy will not be returning to Congress in any capacity but lame duck.
JD, did your app alert you to tomorrow’s match-up? Should be tasty.
Goodbye to all that.

The Useful Idiots have been instructed that The One, who was formerly ‘First Among Equals’, is now an enemy of the State. His titanic incompetence is destroying the Party at a rate that can no longer be ignored or smoothed over.
The Left’s first weapon of choice is ridicule: See article’s included images for examples.

And just like that, the putsch begins to take shape right before our eyes.
Hey, guys, go over to Yelverton’s and leave a comment calling bullshit on this nonsense. We all know how he operates but the first time reader over there is ignorant to his history.
As he’s making the claim in public, we should publicly call him the liar we know him to be.
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=431645800945
I took bh’s advice and left a scathing comment on Mr. Yelverton’s site.
I daresay that he will not soon forget the sting of my literary lash!
A poor man’s Niewert, why in god’s name would we need such a thing
It is not about O’Donnell, it is about changing course.
Wee Willie Yelverton sure has got his knickers bunched up in his mangina, hasn’t he. Can you catch stupid by commenting there? Do you perform some sort of prophylaxis?
Oh, was that libelous?
Listening to some classical music while visiting his site might help, SW.
What’s so funny is that we were the ones to explain the difference between slander and libel to him in the first place.
OMG, I was kidding about her being a Wiccan to make an example and look!
“O’DONNELL: I dabbled into witchcraft – I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. … I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I’m not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do. […]”
Now I really get to see if I was right!
I hope she made a sex tape too! That would be totally awesome!
What liberals don’t understand or don’t care to, is that Christianity is full of people who did at one time sin, sometimes agregiously, doesn’t mean you throw out the standard. Of course, if they
are without sin, they make it up.
Barney Frank likes to stick other men’s penises in his mouth, and I don’t see anybody asking him about that.
Nancy Pelosi gives her husband’s company 200 million dollars no-bid contracts (yawn).
Barack plays golf while the economy tanks, but the press can’t be bothered.
O’Donnell professed to having dabbled in Wiccanism in order to be provocative on a show where she was paid to be…wait for it…Provocative! And we shall hear about nothing else for weeks on end.
I am moving to Delaware just so I can vote for her and punk the media.
Christianity is full of people who did at one time sin, sometimes agregiously
Heck. I’ve heard tell of a former hard-core satanist who later became a Catholic priest and needed to be exorcised. I wonder what our liberal friends would make of that!
I think Christine should remind the press that she is not running for Pope, and that if elected she will stand strong for the separation of coven and state.
Game. Set. Match.
bh – His asshattery is epic. He is now claiming it is a felony.
Escalate? Ok.
Any of you want to begin calling Middle Tennessee State University and letting them know how he’s been acting here — how he violates private property, uses your names, is a plagiarist (hell, I say we get a copy of his dissertation, because I’d be willing to bet parts of that are plagiarized, and literary forensics are one of my unemployable manbaby specialties) — I will no longer ask you not to take this into the real world.
William wants to threaten me with legal action? Okay. Let’s see if he likes the blowback.
“Danger even knowing of the existence of that place is mildly disconcerting, and likely a violation of DADT.”
JD,
Google takes you to some strange places and I felt an obligation to warn the others. Afterall, bh was one lost train ticket away from assimilation ;).
