Building a client state

The Chicago Way

I’d comment on this at length, but honestly, there’s only so many ways you can say “cocksuckers” and still mean it.

Cocksuckers.

Is it possible that they’ll present this fix for those underwater as mortgage aid, and then slide in the fine print that they are now renting from “Kill my Landlord”?

Then if the right offer comes along, Obama Realty can sell it right from under their new renters.

I’m curious to see how this plays out if it happens because -to paraphrase the Iron Lady- we have run out of other peoples money.

    The AP-

the Social Security program is projected to pay out more in benefits than it collects in taxes for the first time this year and next year. The Social Security trust fund is expected to be exhausted in 2037, the same date as in last year’s report.

I’m not sure if a Mortgage bailout will be an automatic win for Obama considering the rage that the original TARP idiocy induced. And the more people find out how broke we are the more they are going to want to stop the government from digging a deeper hole.

    Using administrative fiat to:
Create amnesty with an end-run around Congress? Check
‘Forgive’ the underwater mortgages of potential Democrat voters? Check
    Congressional action to:
Use Federal tax dollars to funnel funds to allies in the NEA, SEIU and UAW? Check
Use the “lame duck session to pass Cap & Trade, Fairness Doctrine, Card Check? Pending

Comrades, the glorious Peoples Republic of Amerikkka is within our grasp!

  11. proudvastrightwingconspirator says:

Don’t forget, the TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) was passed to buy up the “bad paper” in the financial system. BUT< when it became clear that it would have to be "transparent" and disclose prices paid, the Treasury Dep't & politicians switched all the funds into "equity investments" into the banks and auto companies. As a result, the Fed was left to do the heavy lifting of TARP and by loosening the requirments on what they'd take in at the Fed "window" as deposits by the banking system, absorbed some $1.3 TRILLION in dubious CMO's. Once FRE & FNM allow the "underwater" %'s of these mortgages to be forgiven, that $1.3T take an enormous hit. Guess who absorbs that hit? Clue: The Fed is funded by the Congress with taxpayer dollars. So, effectively, Obama & Co. try to BUY votes from those homeowners who see their mortgage debt reduced, and all us taxpayers eat hundreds of billions of losses at the Fed which simply gets added to the deficit numbers. What was deTocquville's line again? The American experiment in democracy will end when the political class realizes that it can buy votes with the proceeds of the public treasury. Shark jumped, bigtime.

  12. JHo says:

So, the GSEs have a blank check from The Treasury, and the Treasury can raise all its money from the Fed printing press. This is how it’s going to work, and it’s been in the works all year.

Well. The Lord taketh…and the Lord giveth away.

  13. JHo says:

The Fed is funded by the Congress with taxpayer dollars.

    No it’s not.

Yeah, we were suckers for missing out on that opportunity. Fuck, I do the responsible thing and get a mortgage I can afford and pay it on time, and I get squat. I have to ***gasp*** pay the rate and principal I agreed to.

I have a problem rewarding foolish reckless behavior.

    For “selected” homeowners, no doubt.

Then again, if it were truly Obama paying for it, that would be just fine with me. The problem is, it’s the 48% who pay income taxes who are paying for it.

It’s in the pockets of Peggy Josephs all over the nation.”

  26. Mr. W says:

This farcical notion conclusively demonstrates the stupidity and lack of cogent thought that are now the hallmarks of the Obama “administration”.

They want to buy the votes from the 20% of homeowners that owe too much on their homes, right? So with typical liberal logic, they hit upon the genius idea to pay down the voters loans with fake money.

Question: Exactly how mad are the 80% of homeowners that don’t get paid because they are solvent and responsible going to be?

Answer: ‘Democrat Party no longer a viable congressional caucus due to low numbers’ angry.

Bet: 200 dollars to the Keep Jeff Blogging Foundation.*

If the insane wing of the Socialist party perpetrate this lunacy (remember what I said about those whom the gods would destroy…) the Democrat Party will end as a viable force in American politics.

And they are most definately dumb enough to do it.

    A homeowner quote:

“Or…it might have the opposite effect and thoroughly tick off those who have continued to pay or have payed off their mortgages. I know I’ll be mad as hell should this happen.”

The Dems really are dunb/insane/stupid/desperate enough to do it.

  28. Mr. W says:

    Jeff,

It occurs to me that you really should be using your time and talents to sponge up on the fake money sloshing around DC right now. The other day I was in the palatial offices of a company that was researching algae based fuels. Brother, that scam is right up there with rain-making, except that rain-making does not violate the laws of physics.

Just form a 501c3 foundation (because foundations are inherently good). Then write a grant application so densely packed with gobbledygook as to be completely unreadable. Just make sure that it hits every liberal trope right on the head, and include plenty of buzzwords. Submit to Socialist govenment. Repeat as needed when you run low on cash.

They probably believe this will re-inflate housing prices. After all if a thing is more expensive it must be more valuable. Right? It’s wealth creation, man.

Dude. I’m telling you this is working. Seriously.

  38. Mr. W says:

The results, like everything else this clown car of an administration has tried, will be the polar opposite of what they intended them to be.

After the election there will not be enough Democrats left to fill a decent sized table in a K Street restaurant.

Who will the Podesta group lobby when there are no Democrats left?

Podesta’s daughter, who if the world was based on talent and ability would be waiting tables, better start working the phone banks for Nancy Pelosi.

When I was in High School back in the early seventies I had a chance to take two years of Economics with a Freidman disciple. That really opened by eyes. Then Gerry Studds, uber liberal congressman, came to my school and I asked him a question about taxes and spending and … he pretty much eviscerated me, invoking old women on Social Security and fixed incomes.

Later my teacher consoled me and told me I had asked the wrong question.

  48. ZeusObama says:

But I can throw a thunderbolt at Hewitt for the fun of it too.

  49. cranky-d says:
