“Ayers, Dohrn helped organize flotilla group”

Just a guy (and gal) from the neighborhood…

Former Weather Underground leaders William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, as well as Code Pink founder Jodie Evans, helped organize the Free Gaza Movement, which launched the six-ship flotilla from Turkey to Israel that ended in a violent clash with Israeli Defense Forces, BigGovernment.com reported.

In January, the trio were spotted in Egypt attempting to stir up crowds on the streets with 1,400 other left-wing activists after the Egyptian government refused to allow Free Gaza Movement members to enter the Gaza Strip. About 100 marchers were eventually allowed to cross the border, where they were met by former Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh.

[…]

This wasn’t the first time that the Free Gaza Movement, whose board of directors include well-known leftists Noam Chomsky and Naomi Klein, sent vessels to Gaza to deliberately provoke a reaction from Israel.

Reached for comment, Rev. Jeremiah Wright spit on a bagel and muttered something about AIDS being a Zionist plot to kill off the black man — a statement President Obama immediately tried to wave off, noting “that’s just Jerry being Jerry.”

52% of the population blissfully bought the explanation.

The 25% of Americans that statistically form the hard core percentage of “stupid” that keeps us up to our ears in Cynthia McKinneys bought the explanation.

The other 27%, the ones in ‘homes’, halfway houses, prison, graveyards, asylums, treatment centers, phone books, and intensive care units had their responses sent in for them on pre-printed absentee ballots provided by the nice folks in the purple shirts.

Ah, Chomsky — friend and supporter of Holocaust deniers, advocate for an Israel-free Middle East — yep, surely “Free Gaza” is all about teh humanitarianism.

“Dohrn said that the principle of ‘All or none’ was a miserable one for activist politics. You always took what you could get and kept fighting for more.

There’s the one way ratchet of the left. It is the one used when they are not in complete control of the levers of power. “Activist politics” is for acquiring power. The slow boiling of the frog.

Between getting on and off the bus, Dohrn, who wore a flower in her hair, said that she didn’t like the absolutist certainty of the people on the other side of the police barricades, and having been in the Weather Underground, she knew something about absolutist feeling.”

The absolute-ism is only for when complete control has been achieved. That’s when the long knives come out of hiding. Pulling them too early might warn the intended prey that this is not an intramural practice game being played out.

Dohrn and Ayers know from sad experience when to and when not to pull out the knives. Israel is not quite ready yet to be flayed alive.

Lebanese newspaper al-Mustaqbal says Erdogan considering going to Strip himself in order to break siege

    Published: 06.05.10, 10:18 / Israel News

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is considering a trip to Gaza in order to break the siege imposed on the Strip by Israel, Lebanese newspaper al-Mustaqbal reported Saturday, quoting “knowledgeable sources”.

The newspaper said that “as part of the open conflict between Turkey and Israel following the massacre against the ‘freedom sail’ to Gaza and the protest sparked in the world, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan is considering going to Gaza himself in order to break the blockade imposed on the Strip.”

In related news, Hamas won’t receive any real criticism for things like this.

It’s a pretty sweet deal when you can be both a heavily-armed, brutally repressive terrorist group and the victim.

Why am I not surprised by this tidbit? I guess they’ve just moved on to “organizing” more far-flung communities…

And, like, Billy and Bernadine never had any compunction about palling around with terrorists.

I just wonder, though, why this factoid isn’t being talked about by the legacy media a bit more; to, you know, put it in it’s proper context!

my my want a fine collection of scum:

The imam behind a proposed mosque near Ground Zero is a prominent member of a group that helped sponsor the pro-Palestinian activists who clashed violently with Israeli commandos at sea this week.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is a key figure in Malaysian-based Perdana Global Peace Organization, according to its Website.

Perdana is the single biggest donor ($366,000) so far to the Free Gaza Movement, a key organizer of the six-ship flotilla that tried to break Israel’s blockade of the Hamas-run Gaza Strip Monday.

Nine passengers aboard the largest ship died in clashes with Israeli commandos, and a new confrontation loomed today, when another Free Gaza Movement ship was due to reach Gaza waters in defiance of Israel.

    toss in some more scum:

But as intriguing as the Post’s report is, it’s actually missing a bigger story. Go take a look at who the most prominent member of Perdana is. Right — Mahathir Mohamad, former prime minister of Malaysia, Jew-baiter extraordinaire, and prominent … 9/11 Truther. Actual quote: “There is strong evidence that the attacks were staged. If they can make Avatar, they can make anything.” Question for Rauf: If you’re all about peace and healing at Ground Zero, why stick with a charity that’s being spearheaded by a guy who blames the U.S. government for what happened there?
