“An accused child molester who fled Chandler three years ago was found beaten into a coma and impaled on cactus in Mexico.
Mark Adam Younglove, 35, disappeared on July 4, 1999, after neighbors confronted him with allegations of molesting their children. On Sept. 23, 1999, a Maricopa County grand jury indicted Younglove on 11 counts of sex crimes with children, and a warrant was issued for his arrest,” The Arizona Republic reports.
Sonora police found Younglove on June 23, unconscious and lying in cactus in Empalme, Mexico. He remains hospitalized in Hermosillo with severe head injuries and might not survive, according to Chandler police.
The U.S. Consulate in Hermosillo found Younglove listed on the America’s Most Wanted Web site and contacted Chandler police.
Pamela Calimeri, whose daughter was one of Younglove’s alleged victims, said she and another parent are ‘basically ecstatic’ that he won’t be able to harm children again.
Poetic justice, no? — a prick found impaled on pricks…? ‘S not often irony is so user friendly.
[update: Reader Tom Paugstat points out that a pedophile named Younglove’ll give ya’ a nice read on the Irony meter, too. I’m beginning to think we’ve stumbled onto something really special here…]

I wish I could say I feel sorry for him…. NOT!
Wow. I’d guess that recidivism isn’t a problem down South.
Actually, I’d feel a bit better about it if he was a *convicted* child molester.
There does seems to be a lot of smoke, but remember the McMartin Preschool? 65 charges, no convictions.
”Poetic justice, no?—a prick found impaled on pricks…?”
Actually, a pedophile named “Younglove” is even more ironic, wouldn’t you say?
What’s his nickname… “Gimme”?
Someone on Usenet has mentioned that “empalme”—capitalized, the name of the desert town where Younglove was found—is Spanish slang for “hard-on.”

Which is kind of fitting, considering they found the guy impaled on a stiff prick. The Irony Meter, ahem, “inches” ever upward.
Okay, now you’re just making shit up. Right?
No, ac tually.

I couldn’t find the word “empalme” in any online Spanish slang dictionaries, but I have here a copy of _Street Spanish 3: The Best of Naughty Spanish_ by David Burke (1999, John Wiley & Sons), which defines “empalmarse” (reflexive infinitive) as “to get an erection.” The word literally means to connect or to join, and the literal meaning of “empalme” is a joint—a term for an erection not unknown in English.
Empalme is city just south of the city og Guaymas in the state of Sonora. Emaplme means junction, and the city got its name because of it’s a junction point for the railroad.
