“A man who told authorities he overheard a conversation about a possible terrorist attack in Las Vegas failed a lie-detector test Friday, effectively ending the FBI’s investigation of the claim.
“FBI agents questioned Henderson resident Michael Hamdan for five hours Friday afternoon before confirming they did not believe his assertion that his cell phone intercepted a conversation in Arabic about a planned July Fourth attack,” The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

I’m annoyed at the way the first sentence in the article implies that the dismissal of the gentleman’s tale hinged on failing the all-knowing all-seeing polygraph. Obviously there were plenty of other reasons to doubt his credibility.
At least, I hope the FBI isn’t putting great weight on polygraphs in its investigations.
Yeah, I know. I’m an optimistic fool.
Word.
I was actually hoping for a diamond with the trademark protein wisdom Hb graphic stamped on the (preferably platinum) gold setting.
Okay.
But some little kid in Sierra Leone’s gonna lose an arm over this…
Never mind then. I’ll take the 2000 Clinton Peace Plan since that apparently is still on offer.
Personally given how ridiculously inaccurate the current generation of lie detectors are I wouldn’t give them any credence AT ALL. I note that Aldrich Ames never had a problem spoofing them, and that many legitimate individuals have given off false positives…
