Expect blogging to be light today. I need to go grocery shopping, and I need to spend some time with my lovely wife, who notes (rightly so) that I’m starting to look like a “stooped Hefty bag crammed full of cottage cheese” — presumably from sitting in front of the computer, web surfing and eating buttered crumpets all day.

I need some spinach or something, evidently.

Anyway, grades are due in by Monday, so I have some last-minute administrative work to do this afternoon. Beyond that — say, Tuesday — I begin work (in earnest this time) on my novel — some in-progress portions of which I’ll post here from time to time (in fact, I’m considering setting up another site just for the novel, so people can check in and offer critiques, none of which I’ll take seriously. It would be an experiment in running an online writers workshop — something I hope to put together on a wider scale one day).

I work best with a deadline; so promising to post chapters might just provide me with the kick in the ass I need to get stuff done in a timely fashion. Like, before I need new teeth, iron supplements, and adult diapers, for instance.
