Somewhere on his blog, Andrew Northrup mentions Night Ranger. As in, “you’re motorin’…what’s your price for flight?”
Not to be outdone, protein wisdom counters with this mention of the Scorpions. As in, “here I am. Rock me like a hurricane.”
Your move, Poorman. But you best not make me break out the Paper Lace…
My son and I heard this song last night on the radio. We always sing it ‘ROT you like a hurricane’—as the Scorpions do, giving away their mid European background.
Best Scorpions line of all: “give her inches and feed her well” from ‘Rock you like a Hurricane’. Of course on my site(s) I don’t mind mentioning 80s rock, having recently mentioned AC/DC, Ozzy, Def Leppard et al.
One thing the Scorpions have downhill at about the same place as Klaus Meine (vocals) has gotten better and singing in English. Wonder if there is any link there?
Crap German English pronunciation contines with a band called Bonfire.

Oh, hells no! I _KNOW_ you didn’t just mention Scorpions to me!
Because if you even thought about saying Scorpions to me, I’d have no choice but to drop Styx on you. You heard me: Styx. As in: “Sparkling, clear, and lovely, you’re my laaaay-deeee.” Uh huh. That’s right. It’s like THAT.
Oh, and before you pull out that Paper Lace, be advised that I’ve got Marillion’s Essential Gold on vinyl, and I’m not afraid to use it.
Not Marillion of “Kaylee” fame? And Styx? Shit, you best keep your ass off my boat on the river, punk ass be-atch.
The very same. And I wouldn’t talk any more trash about Styx, unless you want to deal with Mr. Roboto. And I don’t think you do.
Oh, Poorman, I’m in fear for my life from the long arm of the law [da Dump da Dump da Dump].
‘s A’ight. Lorelei’ll save me.
