Personal matters have brought me to Ohio for the day. Got a couple hours of shuteye at a rest stop, but it was freaking cold, I tell you. Probably be home some time tomorrow.
Yep, it was chilly this morning. As a newbie here, I’m told that if I just wait 15 minutes the weather will change. So it should be 75* by this afternoon, right?
It’s a bit chilly even here. But in Phoenix, there may be a new record set; 13 straight days of 100 degrees plus in May. The record is 12 straight days.
The 500 is one of those uniquely American spectacles, much like Graceland, that I’ve always thought everyone should see. Alas, although I’ve made Graceland, I haven’t worked out the 500 thing yet. I’ve heard it’s a complete madhouse, though.
Hey Dan – hope it’s nothing too serious. If you’ll be passing through Pittsburgh on your way home, let me know!
Dan, there was a frost warning overnight. Sounds like you enjoyed it. If you’re passing through Cincinnati, let me know, and I’ll build a fire.
Where in Ohio? (roughly, that is. Wouldn’t want you to give away the location of the Collins bunker)
Thanks, Columbus. I’m just going to take care of an obligation and head on home, though, chances are.
Those loan sharks are a vengeful bunch.
Sheesh. Watch your shanks.

Go west, young man.
(OT, but if anyone is interested, I put up a Baracky – Notre Dame post in the Pub.)
Goddamn Global Warming!
With Al and Dan, I think we have Ohio covered from head to toe.
Drive safely, Dan. Or drive fast and take chances. Whatever gets you back to us.
Have a safe trip. Carin mentioned it was 31 degrees in Detroit. It is supposed to be tomato weather now.
39 freakin’ degrees according to my thermometer when I got up.
On May 15th.
Ohio? That’s the state that’s in the way whenever I try to drive back to the South or the East Coast.
(grumble grumble)
And yeah, Phoenix sounds pretty good.
Well, east of you, in the Poconos, we have a fornicating frost warning for tonight.
It’s up to 44 now. Blue skies. Hopefully we’re done with frost warnings.
MY tender basil plants tremble. I think they’re safe in old Virginny, though.
Dan, I hope it was not you who had such animosity towards our dear President Garfield
Strangely, with Garfield missing, Hiram Ohio is much funnier now.
I got frost on the 19 cubic yards of mulch I put down this weekend. Fuck Global Warming.
It’s, honestly, the perfect time for them to unveil their Cap and Trade scheme. Isn’t it due any day now?
SarahW, you are a funny.
Must quit internet.
Here’s a cyber-wave as you pass through Atlanta, if you’re going back down that way.
Are any of you going to be in Indy for The 500 ?
Timstigator..
Hey, Homeboy…where in Cincy y’at?

One day I’ll get serious about getting to it.
please don’t quit
Jim in KC – Compound JD is open to you should you ever choose to do so. The 500 is an experience.

Where in the Poconos, Dana?
We were a way west from you, above Lock Haven near Renovo over the weekend.
Home again, home again, jiggety jig.
Remind me not to do that again.
Don’t do that again Dan.
Thanks. I’m unwinding with a beer or two to counteract the coffee.
Man O man. Great site. The Fighting Snoozers of Boring State University. Everybody is one hour short of graduation.
