From Howard Dean. No, not all the crap about this is just more of what Bush started (I thought the Democrats hated Bush); that Americans are optimistic; that the stimulus package is working to revive the economy; and that Obama is good for the economy. That’s to be expected.
But rather the plain speak comes from the final bit: “I think we had quite enough capitalism in the last eight years. I think we need more regulation now.”
Discuss the end of capitalism and the advent of the regulatory “corporatist” nanny state. F words welcome.

update: Or you could just discuss Snap, No Tap instead. Now available from Paladin Press.
The exchange starts at 4:45 with Dean’s statement at the 5 minute mark.
Oh, discuss? Hey, I frankly prefer the honesty. Too bad he wasted the first five minutes lying.
Too much capitalism? I notice that drips off the lips of Howard Dean, he who said Republicans want to starve kids and kill the elderly (pretty ironic in the face of Eugenics by ObamaCare)
But those who believe there has been “too much capitalism” are explicitly saying there is too much liberty.
If classical liberals/conservatives have one message to promote, it is that WE are the sons and daughters of liberty, not the statist Left-liberal Democrats.
Has anybody ever given Dean a Voigt-Kampff test?
“First we take the Investment banks, then we take the big Banks, then we take the Auto Companies, then we take the newspapers and then YYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!”
What a clown this guy is.
They’re getting cocky.
Oh, wait. Dean always was cocky…or a cock, a fucking dick.
Som’thin like that.
“Eugenics by ObamaCare” = “Eubamics”
I think the GOP needs to remember that this country should always have a party where Jefferson, Adams, Washington, Madison, Paine, and Franklin would feel comfortable.
And if they decide that they aren’t going to be it, then they cannot expect our support ever again.
That’s an nifty technique quickly shown around 38 seconds (shown on the blue mat). Side position, with one arm controlling both arms and kinda doing a neck crank as well.
I don’t know if I’d be strong enough to pull that off but it’d be a cool decoy before switching to a standard arm bar.
Is that possibly you at 1:39?
“I think we had quite enough capitalism in the last eight years. I think we need more regulation now.â€
This is exactly the desired dirty socialist frame and they want us to discuss it in terms of this dichotomy cause it elides individual liberty.
I think we need less economic freedom now is the sum total of what the dirty socialist statist means.
Umm…Howie. Darling. Sweetie.
Name one thing “regulation” has produced for mankind, or one society where “regulation” has provided a standard of living such as the one in this country for the entire populace over a sustained period of time.
You. F*cking. Ignorant. Shitbird.
Well maybe not, face looked like, my eyes not what they were.
I’m in there a bit. I’m wearing a blue shirt and getting ripped. I’m also wearing a plaid shirt and getting thrown into some shelving and beaten up in a bathroom.
This is for the street, bh. If you went to a standard arm bar you’d be on your back and stretched out. Not an ideal position in a street fight.
I like the judo takedown around :35 in. It can be surprising how easy it is to use someone elses weight and motion against them.
Okay, yeah, that’s me at 1:39.
That’s a pain tolerance drill. I laid on my back for a minute, crucifix position, and Kosta ripped me — gouges, skin pinches, elbow digs, shin locks, attacks on the floating rib, sternum, nerves in the arm… After a minute, I turn over and lie on my stomach the same way and get ripped again, with attacks to the kidneys, hamstrings, calves, small of the back, etc.
Very enjoyable. Yup.
If someone punches that motherfucker in the face I will donate $100 to Jeff G/Protein Wisdom. Whose in?
Name one thing “regulation†has produced for mankind.
You’re assuming that improving the lot of mankind is Howie’s goal.
Silly commenter. The goal is control control control. And coercion.
Fucking Dean. How many dupes fall for that absolutely asinine shit? We had enough Capitalism for the last eight years? It blows my mind. Oh, dean, how ’bout the couple-hundred years of capitalism that preceded those eight years? Asshole.
Progressive Democrats.
Unintended consequences: if you haven’t seen this video, you should. It’s more a celebration of capitalism than the gap-decrying videographer realizes.
This is the shell game by BHO and his cronies. The $250 one-month stipend, which is still treated as income, and will be taxed. Just as the tax credits on the payroll taxes will be treated as income. The administration did not change the income tax tables; consequently, what BHO gives with the right hand, he takes with the left hand. What a con-artist. It’s great to have a community organizer (who squandered the $180M grant given while he was in Chicago) and an affirmative action product as our leader.

I was a liberal until I learned to read, got a job, and was mugged by tax and spend politicians
Capitalism is out, and Fascism is in. Count me out. I think the Chinese are out as well, with their money.
The going will get tougher when the Brownshirts run out of unarmed people to loot.
The problem is that Dean uses regulation as code speak for politicians picking winners and losers. Precisely what put us in the shape we are in. Regulation is not inherently anti-capitalist, but what Dean wants very much is.
Establishing a single railroad gauge for the entire nation was good regulation, price fixing on specific routes was not.
We are better served not getting bogged down by the word capitalism, what we need to reinforce is precisely how wrong Dean is when he speaks of regulation. We need to remind people that what Dean is actually calling for is nothing other than more of the same.
“Oh, dean, how ’bout the couple-hundred years of capitalism that preceded those eight years?”
And maybe he might recall it was regulation, government-imposed lending rules interfering with assessments of credit-worthiness that helped tip us into the abyss.
You might be onto something. And meanwhile, Kim Jong Mentally Il is doing some plain speaking of his own:
“Not an ideal position in a street fight.”
Yeah, true. When I think about it like that, I have lots of bad habits.
Well, if the guy is alone and you can get him to the ground and armbar him, it’s worth a shot. If it’s someone who knows how to circle in and escape, you’re on your back with your head close to the concrete.
And if he has friends around, your shit is going to get stomped.
