In addition to my post, there’s a new (well-written and informative) Wiki up regarding Mr. Wone and the case. Perhaps someone with Wiki-fu can take my piece on Dean Johnson and Jeremy Conklin and wiki that up, too. Little Miss Attila has a post up drawing the patterns in the two together, and numerous commenters have provided interesting reads on the stories, including that the Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit in effect creates a legal ghetto of such cases. Is there an ad hoc policy of “don’t ask, don’t tell” between the DC police and the MSM regarding cases involving gays and lesbians, an unspoken agreement that they’re not going to dig too deeply or report too much, lest they upset the established disorder? Is it just one of those “blind spots”?
I understand why cops might not be inclined to investigate gay on gay questionable deaths, especially if they seem to involve consensual sex. In a politically charged scene, like DC, it is a no win situation for the cops and detectives involved.
It appears that Robert Wone fell into a spider’s nest here. And this is just one big bizzare story, especially the fact Eric Holder was an attorney in this.
Political Corectness defines certain classes of people who can’t possibly be guilty of any wrongdoing that would confirm negative stereotypes of those classes. No corrective action can be taken against Stereotypical Behavior. Therefore, any behaviors that would be punished when exhibited by members of the Privileged Class are instead allowed, leaving only the positive reinforcers that encourage members of Official Victim Classes to engage in those behaviors.
In this way, Political Correctness increases the incidence of the stereotypical behaviors that it insists are not disproportionally committed by members of Official Victim Groups.
You know how it used to be that Catholic priests couldn’t be pedophiles, and whenever there was an allegation one was, it would just be swept under the rug, the priest transferred to a different parish, etc.? What a great idea! What could go wrong?
Dang, where’s Happy? I’ve got a vid for him. Someone direct him here if I’m not around later.
Your concluding rhetorical questions, together, add up to what looks like is probably the deal here:
In D.C., “gays and lesbians” are represented (i.e., disposable). They exist only via Liaison Units and “prominent” exemplars — like any organized “community.”

Everywhere, especially in D.C., news about “newsmakers” isn’t (allowed to be) news.

Meya seems intent on proving that there is not a single topic that one could come up with where she is not overtly mendoucheous.
