“Candidate Obama vs. President Obama”

Unfortunately for the secular Messiah, he’s going to have to deal with this first year before he’s able to start campaigning again.

Unfortunately for the country, it appears nobody close to him ever made that quite clear.

We get to say “I told you so,” sooner than we perhaps thought we would be able to. Yay us.

  2. dicentra says:

If you’re a narcissist, all you care about is getting your narcissistic supply, i.e., adulation. Governing just gives you headaches and criticism. Campaigning gives you the swooning crowds.

Everyone on his staff could tell him to knock it off, but he can’t quit the adulation any more than the Jem’Hadar can quit Ketracel-white.

  3. Peggy Noonan says:

Good thing that snowbimbo, Palin, isn’t anywhere near Washington.

I was thinking there was a tell for his supporters to pick up on when they learned that his principle speechwriter is 27, but what do I know?

    Jay Leno begs to differ.

OT: BTW, Congress is right now passing a bill to tax the AIG bonuses. The Constitution? They’re using it for toilet paper in the congressional bathrooms.

Wait a year before he starts campaigning again? Hell, he’s never quit campaigning; his White House is in perpetual campaign mode, thanks to the presence and input of Josef GoebblesDavid Axelrod…

I mean, what do you think the daily Rahmbo conference call to Begala, Carville, and Stephanopolous is for? Not to mention it’s trickle-down effect to the journo-list…

  10. Bob Reed says:

Although Leno will toss him hanging softballs, it may be interesting to see him sans telprompter…

What are the chances for a Wizard of Uhhhs performance?

Then again, either he’s been given the latitude to set the talking points, or review the questions, in advance…

    Thanks Jay…

The “most liberal” critique was a staple of Republican talking points. And it had some basis in fact: A survey by the nonpartisan National Journal found Obama’s record in 2007, the year he began running for president, “the most liberal in the Senate.”

That saying about genius being the ability to hold contradictory thoughts in the mind simultaneously — this isn’t what it means.

  20. ExDemocrat says:

Obama was hand pciked by the left for one purpose. They wanted to beat the Republicans with regard to a black president. But their requirements were extremely shallow. The socialist is all appearance, no substance. And as it has come to light [teleprompter], nothing between the ears, but hot air.

A tightly scripted, well staged, “impromptu”. But will he remember which lines are his?

  23. JannyMae says:

Obama was a great candidate? Why was Obama a great candidate? Because the media didn’t do their jobs. They let him get away with his, “hopey-changey-move towardd the center” rhetoric. They didn’t demand that he release his records. They didn’t evaluate his real record in Illinois and the U.S. Senate.

Had the media DONE their jobs, Obama wouldn’t have been such a “great” candidate.

Oh, he can be a smooth talker when he wants to be, but the empty rhetoric he has demonstrated in his two consecutive, “townhall meetings,” will not carry him through his presidency.

I never hated Clinton. I didn’t respect him, but I never hated him. I am coming very close to hating this man, after watching him stand in front of hand-picked crowds, two days running, and doing nothing but blame his predecessor for his own problems and spout contradictory, lie-filled rhetoric which was empty of real solutions.

I have no doubt that he will charm the socks off of Leno and all of his most fervent worshipers, but this man isn’t going to fool anyone but the most gullible for much longer.

  24. JannyMae says:

I hope, in the interest of good taste, there is no fellatio–on air–tonight.

I doubt there will be, as Obama spent an entire townhall-meeting this afternoon being “serviced” by his “volunteers.”
