More on Code Words [Dan Collins]

Over at American Power, Donald Douglas has up a post that places in historical perspective the amoral anti-seriousness of the left. What amazes me is that they will search for hidden meanings in code words for their ideological opponents at home, while rationalizing and apologizing for the forthright and unequivocal statements of hatred towards our allies and intended harm towards us they find among our enemies abroad.

Also, Madoff’s willing accomplices. Sound like anybody else?

Would that have made it a little bastered?

Lileks:

It begins with the laudable idea of enforcing colorblind laws, and ends up insisting that the higher rates of premium cable subscriptions in insufficiently diverse suburbs proves the existence of systemic inequality.

The left being amoral and anti-serious is from the perspective of the conservative right. To themselves they are very, extremely moral, and serious.

These properties, morality and seriousness, are usually measured along a one dimensional line graph. The line graph of the Left is orthogonal to the one used by conservatives.

To take one example. The acquisition and use of power to control the lives of others is, for conservatives, an unfortunate, sometimes necessary, and always at least tinged with evil, thing. To seek it is to place yourself fairly low in the moral order. Needed to an extent, but, Mamas don’t raise their babies up to be politicians.

On the Left, power, seeking to have it, and acquiring it is good, righteous. It is the pole star of their moral compass. Political power especially, but other forms, economic, educational, military are good as long as they are subservient to the political.

The Left is very serious about power. They would say that the conservative right is anti-serious, frivolous in their actions and relationship to power. They think it, but don’t articulate it because if your enemy wishes to always bring a squirt-gun to a gun fight, you should not disabuse him.

Madoff’s ‘victims’ made 9-10% ROI, and were asked to ‘keep quiet’ about this operation? TANSTAAFL reaffirmed.

(Oh, none of those baster write ups ‘splain how sis got bro’s spermatozoa off the ceiling in the first place. There’s gotta be either a willing accomplice or a dead body somewhere..)

Barney, Chris, Harold, and Jamie have robbed me of about half my IRA. Shouldn’t they be made to pay me back? How about jail for them?

Just standing in my front yard asking questions. NTTATWWT, right?

  5. The Monster says:

If you fly a Confederate Battle Flag, whatever meaning it has to you is irrelevant; “everyone knows” that it really means whites owning blacks as slaves (despite the fact that 4 slave states never flew that flag). If you advocate the mis-named “states’ rights”, (States don’t have rights; they have powers. Only people can have rights.) you’re really in favor of Jim Crow laws that make second-class citizens of blacks. If you oppose redistribution of wealth, then you’re a racist.

To sum up: If you disagree with the Left, you are a racist.

They say I’m a racist and I’m proud.
I’m part of the originalist crowd.

And if you look around these days
there seems to be a “racist code word” craze!

    I’m a “racist”
    He’s a “racist”
    She’s a “racist”
    We’re all “racists”
wouldn’t you like to be a “racist”, too?

    I’m a “racist”
    He’s a “racist”
    She’s a “racist”
If you oppose the Left, then you’re a “racist” too

    Be a “racist”
    Think for yourself
    Be a “racist”
    Think for yourself…

I’ve read it now. Thank God Massachussetts has gay marriage. Otherwise, this situation could have gone bad very quickly.

Come to think of it, doesn’t this mean her brother wanked into the baster or something? Accessory? Sick bastard?
