Meryl Yourish reports on the Bay Area’s pro-Pal peacenik crowd — people who sometimes forget the whole “peaceful” bid’ness once the scent of unarmed Jew gets into the air: “The shame of SFSU“
[update: SFSU’s President, Robert A. Corrigan, responds. Sensibly.]

Sometimes it’s just downright embarrassing to be an American.
Still, I’m having a hard time believing that a cop would say that they refused to arrest somebody who had committed a crime, because it’d ‘start a riot’. Every cop I know would love to throw a pair of cuffs on your average college student and haul their coddled butts downtown–believing that a dose of reality might help them pull their well educated heads out of their respective rearends for some much needed oxygen.
Does anyone remember the Puerto Rican day parade in Central Park that turned into a sexual assault mob grab-ass as cops, under-orders, did nothing?
But to agree with Tiger Lily, every city cop I know would love to arrest college students. At Chicago, the campus police were total push-overs. Fortunately, there were no hate riots during my internment there.
Corrigan’s response was candyass!
