What Do Republicans Want? [Dan Collins]

Well, according to Hale “Bonehead” Stewart, it seems that those corporate stooges want . . . a depression!

The truth is that we want an Official Seal.

67 Replies to “What Do Republicans Want? [Dan Collins]”

  1. Techie says:

Did we just have our patriotism questions?

  2. Techie says:

    Buy Jingo, buy American.

  3. Sdferr says:

    Less ethanol, more popcorn, please.

  4. BJTexs says:

Mixed Martial Arts and Tofu free zones. Oh and a baby elephant!

  5. Seth Williams says:

Techie, yes, we just had our patriotism questioned.

Love how the concept of Republicans as avaristic greed-mongers who care for little else than profit and Republicans as wanting a full-on depression in no way causes lefties to question their own narrative constructs.

  6. Techie says:

Repeated: The cognitive dissonance alone should be enough to solve the energy crisis.

  7. Dan Collins says:

I like “avaristic.” It’s atavistic avarice.

  8. parsnip says:

Haha, the Republican’s self-interest and lack of patriotism is why they’ve lost two elections in a row.

    Self-immolation isn’t pleasant to watch.

    Well, maybe a little.

Even Fox News was questioning the Republican Senator’s patriotism this morning.

  9. Roland THTG says:

    Self-immolation isn’t pleasant to watch.

Give it a try, we’ll let you know.

  10. Seth Williams says:

I think I meant “avaricious”. Oh well, not the first time I’ve made up a word.

By the way Dan, I like your definition of “avarisitic” as “atavistic avarice”. That coin might be a keeper.

  11. Seth Williams says:

parsnip, for a leftist (which, I’m taking from your comments you are) to fling an accusation of self-interest and lack of patriotism is rich in nougaty ironic goodness. With a cherry on top.

  12. BJTexs says:

The new definition of patriotism: Make sure you throw around tax payer money to save failing industries.

Trying to save the taxpayers money? Un-American!

Up is down. Black is white. Jennifer Grandholm is a tax cutting fiscal conservative.

  13. ginsocal says:

Snip isn’t known for making a lot of sense. For example, “self-interest” is the primary driver in a free, capitalist society. I don’t buy a new plasma TV because I want to help the plasma TV company, I buy it because I want it.

The apparent goal of leftie retards like snip is to make evryone equal. As in, NONE of us will be able to buy a plasma TV. In a capitalist society, the “goal” is for EVERYONE to be able to buy a plasma TV, should they want one.

  14. Percy Dovetonsils says:

The stupid, it is strong in this Stewart fellow.

I love his commentary about how “mileage standards would have to improve, big time.” There isn’t enough time in the day to edimacate this nitwit on Detroit’s innate problems in making money on small cars, much less the public’s preference for larger autos (barring extremely high gas prices).

Hey alfie, go study to be a Buddhist monk, willya?

  17. N. O'Brain says:

    parsnip = alfie

    alfie = banned troll

    banned troll = bandwidth thief

    bandwidth thief = freelance socialist

Who spilled the beans to this guy Hale? Come on folks. The whole “What Do We Want? Depression! When Do We Want It? NOW!” thingee was suppossed to be double super-secret. That why you have a decoder ring, damnit! If the message was supposed to get out to the “others”, do you think you’d need the decoder ring in the fist place? Geez. Now we gotta come up with a new plan to gain World Domination.
Oh, and Remember to Drink Your Ovaltine (wink wink).

Sorry about the double post. There was some glee stuck on my keyboard which messed up the spelling.

  22. Isn’t President Bush a Republican? Just sayin….

  23. N. O'Brain says:

    Bring on the Depression!

That way we can sell all the Republican Brandâ„¢ Kleen Water and Fresh Ayr we’ve been hoarding over the last 8 years.

  24. cranky-d says:

Republican? Yes, I guess so. Conservative? Not even close.

  25. cranky-d says:

After a while, you completely ignore the ‘Hammered posts, and it looks like the last comment was actually the comment before last. Such is life.

  26. BJTexs says:

See now that President Bush? PATRIOTIC AMERICAN! He knows how to throw around taxpayer borrowed money!

Man, I’m depressed and not in an economic way. OK, that too.

  27. PCachu says:

Not just having your patriotism questioned, mind you, but having it questioned by Jen-Jen “Allow My Grand Scheme For Economic Failure To Run Its Course And In Some Indeterminate Time Span You’ll Be Blown Away” Granholm, of all people. That’s rich in … something that’s gotta be bad for you, I’m sure.

  29. Pete says:

    Hmmmm

Last time I checked, the Dems were the majority in the Senate. If they wanted the bailout to pass, all they had to do was line up all the Dems and vote ‘Aye’. Seems maybe a few Dems don’t quite have their head up their ass. And Harry Reid really seems more interested in playing the ‘blame game’ instead.

Comment by Seth Williams on 12/12 @ 1:47 pm #

Seth, parsnip isn’t a leftist. He’s a boil. A really, really dumb boil.

  31. kelly says:

Hmm. THE ONE says, “It’s going to get worse before it gets better,” re the economy. Sounds a lot like “talking the economy down,” no? In another election cycle, say, 8 years ago, the press was in full shriek mode accusing Bush of the same thing. What changed? Baffling, huh?

  32. Log Cabin says:

Well screw the UAW right up the colon with the barbed penis of Satan himself. They fund the democrat party and are it’s most loyal footsoldiers in the GOTV drives.

Double screw them. I hope that the whole damn union goes bankrupt and that their loyal memebers spend their golden years eating canned pedigree.

  33. parsnip says:

Could George W. Bush have made the Senate Republicans look any more childish today?

I think they just got a little taste of just how impotent they’re going to be starting next month.

  34. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

A successful parasite does not destroy its host.

I guess no one ever told the UAW that.

  35. parsnip says:

Do the UAW members fly around the country in private jets, too, SBP?

    Whodda thunkit?

  36. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

    Arithmetic, snippy.

    Look into it.

  37. dicentra says:

Look, youse guys. It’s only fair. We’ve been accusing the left of wanting to surrender to Islamofascism for 7 years. Now they get to accuse us of wanting to destroy the economy.

    It’s all good!

  38. Sdferr says:

Wanting to destroy is so lame, as if.

Besides, I thought the current meme had been decided. Bush has destroyed the economy. Singlehandedly even. The bastard.

  39. Log Cabin says:

SBP, I was thinking exactly the same thing about parasite/host while watching the UAW mouthpiece blubber on the news this morning. They have killed the goose and can’t understand why there will be no more golden eggs.

My democrat coworker accross the cubes said to me at lunchtime today, “why do they keep screaming about the Repubs when we gave them control of congress 2 years ago?” I said nothing and smiled silently to myself.

  40. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Also note that snippy automatically assumes that we’re on the side of the Big 3 CEOs.

    It is to laugh.

  41. cranky-d says:

The CEOs of the not-so-big three screwed the pooch with the help of the UAW. They can all go to hell.

I think the automakers can survive, and should, but they cannot without serious restructuring, which includes changing the compensation for the workers as well as some streamlining of model lines they offer. Whether that is do-able politically, we shall see.

  42. kelly says:

Here’s some simple math for snippy: bailout for the diminishing three = saving union jobs. QED. (I threw that in there for dramatic flair.)

  43. B Moe says:

Do the UAW members fly around the country in private jets, too, SBP?

    Do UAW exectutives?

  44. Sdferr says:

Should one or two of the tiny Three actually disappear, they’ll be joining this rather long list of predecessors.

  45. Jeffersonian says:

It’s a no-lose situation for cheerleaders of the fascist corporate state, really.

    * Republicans vote for propping up failing auto makers: Republicans sell out their free-market principles when fatcat business executives are threatened.

    * Republicans vote against propping up failing auto makers: Republicans are anti-American union busters panting for a new Great Depression

    Narratives! Getcha narratives right heah!

  46. happyfeet says:

I’m not real big on paying taxes to support fat-assed greasy thug autoworkers. They’re fat and greasy and thuggish if you must know why.

  47. happyfeet says:

Also they look like they smell bad.

  48. Sdferr says:

hey hf, check back to this thread, there’s a post aimed at you.

  49. happyfeet says:

oh. Thank you. I just got back from Santa Monica and haven’t checked in since early today.

    Oh Man, Log Cabin,

This is such a fitting characterization…Do you mund if I use it for illustrative purposes while arguing..?

  51. parsnip says:

Anyone who takes government money is a “parasite” SBP?

    That include soldiers?

    Hurricane victims?

    Farmers?

  52. happyfeet says:

oh. You know who are parasites are those fat-assed greasy autoworker thugs what want to get paid for sitting on their fat asses. Disgusting.

  53. happyfeet says:

I saw a crossfire the other day and I thought hey that looks like a cool car oh wait I bet one of those fat-assed greasy autoworker thugs spooged all over it. Gross.

  54. kelly says:

Black hole density, snip. Black hole. Neutrinos couldn’t penetrate your skull. Knob.

  55. parsnip says:

    Kelly,

By my count, the Republicans have now declared themselves to be the enemies of:

    1. Working class American
    2. College educated Americans
    3. Retired Americans

Who’s left on the Republicans’ side besides self-loathing gays and foreign auto companies?

  56. Challeron says:

I wonder if Bush offering to Save America! isn’t a good idea after all: Not so much so that he won’t be blamed for Allowing The Next Great Depression To Happen; rather, because most rational people know that the bailout, as proposed, won’t keep the Three Dwarves going for more than six months … after which time the only people left to deal with The Next Great Depression will be Democrats….

  57. Darleen says:

one of these days someone will choose to teach the root veggie that words mean things, not how veggie wants to define and redefine them at will to his own puerile whims…

…and hopefully that lesson will cost him a few months in traction.

  58. parsnip says:

Why Darleen, are you advocating mindless violence?

I thought your government job taught you to be against that.

    No?

    Kinky!

  59. happyfeet says:

Working class Americans work they don’t sit on their fat asses living off their “job bank” monies for the rest of their greasy thuggish worthless lives. Greasy thugs is greasy thugs and they’ve suffocated our poor little auto companies like those fat people that go to bed with their babies and ohnoes.

  60. B Moe says:

Why Darleen, are you advocating mindless violence?

Because anything you are involved in would by definition be mindless. Any more questions?

  61. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Poor snippy isn’t even trying any more, is it?

  62. Darleen says:

    Not advocation, just prognostication.

  63. J."Trashman" Peden says:

Probably, the Mob’s fatal defect in reasoning is: “With people as dumb as atomic parsnips, who needs friends?”

  64. Jeffersonian says:

Anyone who takes government money is a “parasite” SBP?

His post didn’t mention anything about taking government money, bright boy. Go rent a clue.

  65. SDN says:

A quarter would rent way more clue than it’s got now.

  66. Saniya says:
