I took Ankiel—with my 30th and last pick. Who knows, right? But it was a really bad draft, and I don’t want to think about it. My starting pitchers are Shane Reynolds, Andy Ashby, Odalis Perez, Nick Neugebauer, Terry Adams, Vincente Padilla, and Albie Lopez; my closers are Braden Looper and Danny Graves.
But what I lack in pitching, I more than make up for in mediocre offense: Mo Vaughn at first; Jose Ortiz at second (a Rocky!); Larkin at short (I give him until May 10th); Edgardo Alfonzo at third; Morgan Ensberg at corner infield; Eric Young at middle infield; an outfield (5) of Griffey, Drew, Hidalgo, Pierre, and Jay Payton; catcher is Piazza; UT (3) Grudzielanek, DeShields, and Cory Paterson. My reserves are Fernando Tatis (please recover) Ankiel (ditto), and Eric Owens.
