Wonderful news! Our protests have paid off! Now, let’s get back to work on Mumia!

    IIRC, he’s a Taurus.

    NTTAWWT.

  2. John Bradley says:

OT: The site is broken for IE7 users at the moment (presumably some ad-thingy). The page loads, but brings up a pop-up dialog box to the effect that “Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site https://www.proteinwisdom.com. Operation aborted.”

Clicking ‘Okay’ clears the screen and puts up the standard “Internet explorer cannot display this webpage” error page.

Worked fine earlier today. Tried it on two different machines, so I don’t think I’m all virused up or anything.

    Works fine in FF2.

    Anyone else seeing this?

  3. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

I’ve seen reports of the same thing happening at Ace of Spades.

  4. Dan Collins says:

Insty said something about Site Meter

  5. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Btw, “Gary” is Cockney rhyming slang for “anus”.

“I did her up the Gary” -> short for “Gary Glitter” -> rhymes with…

  6. Patrick Carroll says:

    Huh.

    I’ve heard of “Richard’s” – “Richard the Third’s” – “Turds”.

    But that’s about it.

  7. John Bradley says:

One of Charles’ commentors has a quick fix that works. (add ‘*.sitemeter.com’ to the restricted sites in Tools | Internet Options | Security”

    linky

  8. Dan Collins says:

Thanks, John. That’s something Jeff will have to do, as admin.

  9. Darleen says:

    Dan

I sent you an email… it looks like sitemeter is glitching IE7. I was lazy and hadn’t installed Foxfire on my new laptop

I just finished doing so, otherwise, you wouldn’t be see this. ;-)

  10. Darleen says:

    John

Hey, I just did that and now my IE7 works!

    :-)

  11. John Bradley says:

    Dan: It’s not a Jeff-thing, it’s an end-user thing.

    (Okay, it’s really a whomever-screwed-it-up-at-sitemeter thing.)

  12. happyfeet says:

but… sitemeter is what meters the site. I like the sitemeter, even if it’s only a directional indicator. They’ll fix it forthwith I’m sure.

Here it says they are doing changey things, something about a new platform, so this must be a bug. This was just posted today.

  13. Dan Collins says:

Yeah, I got that when I reread what you said in the light of Darleen’s comment.

  14. Dan Collins says:

But then, I’m not really an end user, because I have a Mac ;-P

  15. happyfeet says:

Going back a bit, here’s this too. And there’s a planned outage August 3.

I wonder if they are changing their methodology.

  16. Dan Collins says:

    Planned outrage? Sounds like Greenwald.

  17. happyfeet says:

Ok I guess the point though is if you do the LGF fix you should undo it later so that stats are right. PJM can probably use the adserver stats as a rough proxy. But the point is that stats going down would be demoralizey I think maybe.

  18. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Planned outrage = Two Minutes Hate.
