I’m depressed. The 2008 Congress just added 10% to the national debt with one bill. Oh, and the currency of the realm is now backed by stock worth nearly nothing, that being Freddie and Fannie. All credit card transactions are to be reported to the IRS. Go read the bill (if you can get through all 600 pages). So it goes when we federalize banking.
I first heard this in Sept ’78 as I sat in a jacuzzi on the first night I arrived in Orange County Calif to start college at CSUFullerton.. and it’s forever linked in my mind to the best time in my life.
You know, we could have done without the obligatory Billy Jack reference. I mean, the notion of ice cream on a young Indian child’s face makes some of our lefty friends just go beserk!
(btw, you really had to have had the stomach to sit through the movie….)
Perfect.
You can always just toss this place on my host account and relieve Jeff of the bandwidth bill.
Hey, great idea! We haven’t had one of these in awhile.. I love ’em.. a cheesy retro music thread..
Here’s my contribution..
The Archies: Sugar Sugar
..even after all these years those two chicks.. Betty & Veronica.. are still smokin hot..
I Like Dreamin
If I understand correctly, PW now lives on Pixy Misa’s Server of Bloggy Goodness.
A non-cheesy palate cleanser.
And another.
“Cheesy retro music”?
Hrm.
It ain’t easy, being cheesy.

Excellent choice in palate cleanser..
I’m partial to this one.

This seems kind of apropos. Think I’ll pour a drink.
Speaking of drinking – here’s one to sing along with
Well, then, the Traveling Wilburys. [At the] End of the Line.
Did someone say Warren Haynes?
Oops, try again.
In select places, my hull is only one inch thick.
Jeff Lynne always seems so out of place in those songs.

When You’re Hot You’re Hot
…we shall never surrender,…
ThomasD,
Thanks for the Seven Turns – a very underrated album, even if it was Dickey.
I really wanted to find a decent version of Back Where It All Begins but the ones currently available are rather sub-par.
Come to think of it, Serr8d, Jeff’s voice is almost as sublime as Roy’s.
