Fortunately, the 66 year-old man Novak hit has only minor injuries, which means Novak will probably only see a minor penalty. And that’s too bad.
Karl posted on this, of course, but I thought I’d letterbox it. Sociopath. See Liberty Street. I guess Soros digs that shit, though.
Liberal Fascism.
Ygelsias is just ramping up teh outrage for when he starts at whatever Soros POS he is going to.
Free Mumia NOW!!!
Bill Ayers Is an America PATRIOT!!!
I wonder whether Soros will turn Yglesias into another Oliver Willis.
Free the MOVE 9!
Oh dem poor Moves,
Deh got de Osage Avenue blues.
(nod in the direction of C’ap’n Beefheart)
Wilson Goode done blown the block,
Got re-elected…what a shock.
Were Novak a communist, he would have stopped and rendered aid. Thats just how the left rolls. hoho
The odd thing, I don’t really get this hatred for Novak among theprogressivia.
He’s against the Jews, he was against the first Gulf War and this one, he has a soft spot for China’s oligarchs. He still hates the Castro regime, (I know strike one) Come on, does Novak really seem likes someone who would run over some one purpose (Patrick Kennedy, to the white courtesy phone)
It’s all a byproduct of Plame syndrome
decompression
Aldo – The only way they could turn Ygelsias into O-Dub would require the pallets, nay tons of Twinkies Willis has already consumed.
Yglesias thought and even said a disgusting thing.
I guess he wishes the pedestrian was badly injured so that Novak could be properly punished.
A real nice guy, that Mr. Yglesias.
I’d drive with Bob Novak than Teddy Kennedy.
[…] HEH: And by “Fortunately,†I Mean Drat. […]
“More People Have Been Killed By Ted Kennedy Than by American Nuclear Power Plants.”
Off topic. Mean. Snarky. I denounce myself but laugh defiantly.
Killer dwarf clowns protect me.
Insta-lanche!
Yes, but without much effect in the comments it seems.
Did you miss the fun of doing the “countdown to the ‘No War for Oil'” in the comments section?
I know; you’re thinking, “how could anyone tie this story into the anti-war movement?”
The first one appears in the THIRD comment in the string:
“It’s about time that people start talking about automobiles in the same terms that we use for guns and cigarettes. We’ve got 46,000 Americans a year getting killed by these f’ing machines and that’s not even counting oil war.”
Bonus points for implicit use of profanity! ;o/
I’m no kneejerk defender of Yglesias, but it seems to me that you are distorting what he said to make a ridiculous point. Did you actually read the very next sentence Yglesias wrote after “And that’s too bad”? I’ll bet you did. It reads: “The penalties for this stuff ought to be much stiffer.” In other words he’s not hoping for further harm to befall the pedestrian just so Novak can be punished more harshly, he’s arguing that the incident in and of itself shows that reckless drivers like Novak should be punished more harshly. To surmise otherwise is dishonest.
I’m sure that’s what he would say now, Bill, but if you read what he wrote (and that’s all I’ve got to go on, except for your tut-tutting), he says that it’s too bad that Novak will only see a minor penalty because the guy’s injuries aren’t horrible. What he doesn’t say is that it’s too bad that the penalties are so light–just that they ought to be harsher.
I can’t recall, though, so maybe you can help me: what was Matt saying when Patrick Kennedy got pulled over intoxicated in DC, then let go? Thanks in advance.
Bill, wouldn’t that just make you a jerk defender of Yglesias? Just wonderin’.
The comparison with the savage penalties dealt to Ted Kennedy is particularly telling.
Wrong universe, sorry.
Thank you for pointing that out, Bill, I was negligent for not reading the original quote and just reading the selective quote, cut off at entirely the wrong place if accuracy was the goal.
I will have to read the writings of Dan Collins much more critically in the future, and I would advise you all to do the same.
