A New Hampshire woman who was struck by lightning this week was stunned to find that her voice had changed, and she was finding it tougher to get across the street in front of her home. Reached for comment, Jessica LaFreinure commented bitterly, “It’s so totally not fair. I was going to go to MIT to study to be one of those people who like, work on those things that go up in the sky. What are they called? Anyway, since I was on the news, they’ve cancelled my free study thingy. I guess maybe I’ll have to work for one of those clubs that keep calling. Luckily, I’m a totally hot dancer.”

The WashingtonPost ran a story many years ago about a guy who believed his AmyotrophicLateralSclerosis was caused by a lightening strike he suffered. Never saw any follow up.
