Why Build New Refineries? [Dan Collins]

As Karl and Allah note, we’ve got Obama!

I mean, who needs more than the quintessence of nuance? That’s the pharmaceutical grade stuff.

  1. Topsecretk9 says:

it’s sort of a mash up of the field of dreams motto “”If you build it, HE will come”

    — “If you build it, OIL will come” — “If you DON’T build it, HE will come”

He being the O one, the messiah, all that will bring goodness and wonderment to us all

  2. B Moe says:

I don’t think anybody needs to come, with all these messiahs and transhumanists about coming is obsolete now.

  3. Topsecretk9 says:

It weird thathe can’t make the joyous happen until he president. If he’s the magic, why didn’t he just wave his wand a long time ago?

  4. SevenEleventy says:

Never thought that I’d witness someone with more bullshit on his breath than Bill Clinton. I was wrong! Obrick can stack it pretty high.

  5. Better fix the links before Karl thinks you’re slighting him.

  6. Big Bang Hunter (pumping you up) says:

    – I don’t care much for brown sugar. My refinement only goes just so far.

    – I, of course, Uber-denounce my culinary racism.

  7. Big Bang Hunter (pumping you up) says:

    – Presented with BrownSugarTits®, I would of course, need to refine my position.

  8. The Lost Dog says:

Obama is full of Bull.. ahh … Baloney.

It is becoming clear that he is a product of the Chicago machine, and has no moral compass.

“Whatever it takes”. My own compass is a littlr weak, but I am not running for president.

I still think that Billary has a nuke to drop on this Armani smell of a “Who farted?” kind of guy.

God helpm us if this wraith is elected president.

  9. The Lost Dog says:

    Hmmmmmm…

Maybe I should use “spellcheck” after a long night of music, eh?

  10. The Lost Dog says:

O! is more of an idiot than Gore and Kerry combined (or should I say “the fascists? I denounce myself!).

Will America be stupud enough to elect this slippery eel of a facist, Obama ? If you think I m over the top, LISTEN TO WHAT THIS CHAMELION SAYS!

I just can’t believe that a really nasty smelling fart in an Armani suit even has a CHANCE to be elected president!

I guess I must be old, and grew up in an America that lived by the Constitution of the United States of America. It is tough to remember when communities took care of their own, instead of the moron politicians using their power to buy ignoramuses votes.

Yeah! Cool! Give me money for sitting on my ass and blaming society for my inability to act like a responsible human being, and you ‘ve got my vote!

    Q – How “unartful” am I?

    A – VERY!

  11. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Way off-topic, but Google actually has a Fourth of July logo today.

That’s a sign of the Apocalypse, I think.

Trying to be serious here, if anyone hasn’t signed the petition at

    http://www.americansolutions.com

Please do, and please forward it to every one you know.

The petition (Drill here, drill now, save money) is approachimg two wmlliom signatures.

PLEASE! Anyone who believes that drilling our own oil, building nuke plants, and building more refineries is against the rules should be buried in the nearest landfill.

About five per cent of our population is SCREWING the rest of us. Please sign the petition, and let your (mostly) idiot representatives know that you are going to try and dump them if they insist on keeping our own energy off the table.

Sorry. This one REALLY PISSES ME OFF! How could so few idiots make me pay $4.66 a gallon (for regular!) because they believe that the Earth would be better off with only a hundred humans (of which, of course, they would be one of).

The Dems so far haven’t seen the train barreling down the track, aimed at their heads. Everyone I know (including my left friends) are way pissed off that the Dems are blocking ANYTHING that would give us some relief.

Sorta OT, but when the fuck is McCain gonna wake up, and realize that the sooner he jumps on self sufficiency with both feet, the sooner he could wrap up this election?

Let’s push the morons in our Congress to do something! Those idiots LOVE power, and if their power is threateneed, they will cave.

    Please!

I even write to idiots who are not even close to where I vote.

These arrogant pricks in Congress need a wake up call.

Sorry to repeat myself, but these arrogant little rooster PRICKS need a big kick in the balls.

Our government is FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, and NOT by people who think their shit doesn’t stink, and are too stupid to understand what the Constitution says in PLAIN fucking English!

Please sign the petition, and let the facists know that we are on to them.

Free speech will omly exist if we stand up to morons like Pelosi and Reid.

What do you say we do it?

It’s strange to be a “Yankee” activist, but I have just gotten sick of kow-towing to people like thor.

They are stupid, and I really think that I am not, having lived two or three times as lomg as these fascist idiots who want to silence me, and anyone else who would dare to post on PW!

Bad night, I guess. I talked to an idiot who told me that Rush was such a hateful person, that his right to free speech should be terminated.

This is what we are up against, and it scares the bejeeezus out of me that this POV is gaining momentum.

    Well….

Happy Independence Day, and pretend that I didn’t post this until the fifth.

I am just upset that my faith is being assailed by people with none.

My faith is good, but I sonetimes have a hard time trying to understand people whose faith lies only in themselves.

local oil is even more expensive than imported: harder to find, more expensive to drill and has smaller reserves. So just get off oil! Conserve and stop your whimpering. Japan has the best models. They’re thinking ahead and Germany too. They see the writing on the wall and are adapting. We’re stuck on SUVs and big trucks. Just our way of thinking is regressive, not progressive.

GWBush sold us out. The Republicans (and some Democrats) sold us out.

    Happy Independence Day, Fools!

Enjoy your mud hut, bico. Don’t drag me back there too.

    Glorious Fourth, Tool.

  15. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Japan is approximately the size of a postage stamp.

    Moron.

  16. JD says:

I am going to have a great day, no matter how hard asshats like datadave try to ruin it.

  17. Salt Lick says:

    Conserve and stop your whimpering!

Yes. Stop the whimpering. Nobody can expect to eat all they want or drive everywhere they want. Everyone must donate a portion of their freedom to the community if the community is to survive. Barack’s going to expect us to forego corporate jobs and join AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and build Habitat Houses. Then, for the first time in our lives, we can be proud to be Americans.

    Ujamaa!

  18. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

    Ujamaa!

    Juche!

  19. banned in colorado says:

just a parting word to the wankery on my way out to a wonderful adventure (w/pfd) to emphasize the need for change in leadership on the national level: the Japan model of efficiency matched with the the Detroit model for inefficiency. Note that US executives are overpaid and get compensated in a corrupt fashion and thus they are not good leaders.

e.g. GW Bush at the top!

    No it isn’t.

    See how that works?

    #21

I guess that’s why Japan has built factories here to build everything from automobiles to precision machine tools. wanna guess where all the parts come from?

    Care to try again?

    bull hockey

Though they’re well-hidden, oil rigs dot the Los Angeles area, and more are coming as prices make it attractive….

…California — the fourth-biggest U.S. producer of crude behind Louisiana, Texas and Alaska — has received 16 percent more notices from owners planning to rework old wells this year, while plans to drill new ones are up 23 percent from 12 months ago, according to state Department of Conservation data.

“In the Middle East, you might have 300 barrels of oil per cubic acre, but in the Los Angeles Basin you might have 4,000 barrels per cubic acre,” says Mike Edwards, vice president of Denver-based Venoco Inc., which has 24 active wells in the Beverly Hills area, including one alongside Beverly Hills High School. “In terms of the land that produces oil, the basin is very rich.”…

“This is one of those weird things about Los Angeles,” says Jeff Brown, the mall’s general manager. “There are oil wells all over the place. Drive down the street, you see hotel, beautiful house, oil well. Here, I don’t know if shoppers know there’s one or not. They probably don’t.”

I think we can all agree this also illustrates Caribou must be smarter than Celeb Gucci shoppers.

  22. SevenEleventy says:

banned just does the usual drive-by. It read one article and has decided that its facts are indisputable. Typical asshat felching for progressive lucky charms!

  23. Dan Collins says:

If you count Hollywood, California has to be the biggest producer of crude.
