Apparently, someone at Instaputz was bent about my paean to Carlin, and posted this:
Somewhere Out There Is An Ex-Girlfriend Who Needs To Be Publicly …

Yes indeed, Dan Collins’ post on the late George Carlin is stupid as one might expect. But let’s give DC the benefit of the doubt: maybe the second half of the sentence — “because I’m a fucking idiot” — was deleted?
INSTAPUTZ – http://instaputz.blogspot.com/
Later he nuked the post.
Any theories on why?
Given that the post is not nuked, I’m going to say Instaputz is the fucking idiot.
Non-fucking idiot is probably a better guess, though.
What is it with these pitiful baby boomers where everyone has to be a fucking icon? Tedious is what it is.
Carlin wassn’t conservative, otherwise you would’ve received and award.
Lenny Bruce was the icon, feet. He went out like a nihilist should – laying next to the needle and some hot smack.
Upon review, we decided that the post in question did not meet our high standards.
“I don’t get it” was exactly the right joke. I smirked.
‘feet, you sound like Carlin. Don’t read those geezer tributes; those people think they’re talking about themselves. Carlin was great, mostly. His fans — the ones who aren’t comedians — are all jackholes. Fuck ’em.
Oh. I think starting my day through the lens of NPR may be skewing my perceptions more than maybe I’ve realized.
My guess is Instaputz missed the joke the first time around, then somebody explained it to him. Maybe in the comments — which would explain the removal of the post.
Alternately, Instaputz realized that not everyone was going to buy into the faux outrage he was trying to sell them. So he cut his losses.
Perhaps he needs to re-brand. I suggest “Eterna-putz.”
Whada-putz!
Any theories on why?
Because ‘Instaputz’ is more descriptive than ironic?
